  1. Welcome to LOC, Did you buy the car from a Lexus dealer, private seller or independent used car place?
  2. Agreed Steve.....time will tell. Set's of Bosch blades however have lasted me the longest of all the ones I have tried over the years.
  3. I tried the Lexus inserts & was left disappointed personally.....they lasted 4 months & were done.....although the Lexus dealer did tell me there is no difference between these & the Toyota ones.....maybe that's just in Canada? I put on a set of Bosch Evolution blades on the Wife's Subaru Forester that I got as no charge replacements (for the Trico Neoform's which were expensive & nothing special either....lasted less than 5 months)......a little over 3 weeks now & so far so good...and we've had a fair bit of rain so we'll see how these fair over time. I've always had good luck with Bosch wipers personally. More info here... http://www.boschautoparts.com/Products/WiperBlades/Evolution
  4. Anyone ever try this product? http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+ca...vals&page=1 If so what are your thoughts of this & Griot's products in general? Thanks.
  5. Appearances can be deceiving Steve ;) Best tire I have owned especially in wet weather & they have fantastic grip & are H speed rated & also extremely comfortable on the highway. I have never complained about tire noise as it's pretty much non-existent....got them on the Wife's Subaru Forester too. Worst tire I have ever had on my vehicles by far has to be the Bridgestone Potenza RE92's.
  6. I'm thinking of getting a new vanity plate myself.....debating on BREN ONE or FOR BREN....we are allowed 8 characters in Ontario....including the space in between. Thoughts? I don't bother with trying to get a plate that relates to the car I drive......you'll have to keep getting a new plate! lol.
  7. Double check the owners manual.....I think you need Dexron IIe / III fluid. I use Amsoil synthetic ATF which covers those specs & the Toyota type IV fluid...it's awesome stuff. More info here... http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/atf.aspx
  8. NGK or Denso 'long life' Iridium's here (not the NGK IX version).
  9. Also might want to try an auto wrecker or salvage yard.
  10. I recently took the Wife's 2003 Subaru in to the dealer for some routine service....switched back to all season tires, brake fluid flush (ATE Super Blue) & was told she now needs new brakes front & rear....including rotors (had a second opinion to confirm).....I just did the pads & rotors 2 years ago so I was less than impressed....I can relate to the aggressive driving style comment earlier in this thread.....I have since had to 'adjust' her driving style so this should not happen as often. I've decided to go with Brembo 'plain' rotors with Hawk HPS pads all around which I have heard very good things about. I don't think Hawk makes an HPS pad for the 2002 - 2006 ES however.....so I too would vote for a set of the OEM's.
  11. thanks alot, im looking for some oem wheels... what other model will fit my es300? i'm looking for 17's, 18's or 19's thanks I picked up a set of 10 spoke OE 17" alloys from a 2008 IS 250 AWD with the correct bolt pattern (they are for my all season rubber so I won't be installing them for another month). My winter tires are on a set of 2008 ES 350 17" alloys.
  12. Since your from Florida....do you want all seasons or summer tires? What specifically are you looking for in replacement rubber?
  13. Click the link & enjoy! http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/showpage/...he%20world.aspx
  14. I just use some Fabreeze auto once a month or so. ;)
  15. Not a fan of Kumho tires personally.....much better choices out there.
  16. Welcome BALOO! Do you have any pics of your ES? Llumar tint is very good stuff.
  17. Welcome to LOC! The service manager is correct.....the colour of the fluid is not all that vital....as long as the fluids have been changed on schedule with the proper fluid. If there has been a missed interval of the tranny fluid....it won't hurt to have a drain & fill done again.....which is not that expensive.
  18. Welcome to LOC 124....nice to see another fellow Torontonian on the forum (although I now reside in St. Thomas, Ontario). I will be able to help you with your 2005 ES 330 search just so you know (I own the same car)......I have several excellent Lexus contacts so let me know before you buy (send me a PM of what exactly what your looking for). There is a good selection currently. Your 15" wheels should fit.....however as Steviej mentioned in another thread.....they might look small on the vehicle. I just bought a set of winter tires (Toyo Garit KX in the OE 215 55 17 size & a set of OE 17" alloys). One suggestion I have is to possibly sell your 15" wheels & tires on say Kijiji (you will get alot of hits if they are priced right) and find yourself a second set of 17 wheels for a set of 17" winter tires (which I can also help you with). Something to think about. But good winter tires do make a huge difference with the ES compared to all seasons.
  19. Welcome to LOC! Congrats on your purchase.....post some pics of your new ride when you can. Enjoy!
  20. Many of the different brands 'new car scent's' smell different anyways......and was it not discovered not long ago that it's toxic? lol.
