  1. no. no bad experiences yet with my 03 ES, except that it's feels a little slow on the acceleration. I just thought it looked like a ford from the angle in that picture. the side door designs are just too similar. ← Maybe you should waited & got the ES 330. ;)
  2. www.alldata.com & look for the TSB's. ← Thanks, I also found them at clublexus.com. ← What did your dealer say about your engine?
  3. I agree! B)
  4. That is possible. B) Did you ever replace the tranny pan gasket when you switched over to synthetic? It's not a bad idea as a preventitive measure. ;)
  5. The flush is not a bad idea at all. Good luck! B)
  6. I'd steer very clear of Bridgestone & Firestone. :whistles:
  7. For both vehicles, I would suggest Amsoil (ASL) 5W 30 synthetic oil (Amsoil & Mobil 1 are the most popular). You get extended drain intervals (both time & mileage!) & it's pretty much the best oil you can buy! B) http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asl.aspx
  8. The Pilot Sport A/S are good tires.......but compared to other tires, it's very pricy! Russ, have you made a decision on tires? ← Not yet, although I am going to have to get busy because I had a flat yesterday and before I could get to the side of the freeway, the tire was ruined. The Potenza R030's are not made anymore so I'm screwed. I spoke with a local dealer about the Falken 512's and he said they are hard to get and wouldn't recommend them. He directed me to the Dunlop 9000's, but I haven't bought anything just yet. ← Find yourself another tire dealer that can get the Falken's! B) & why exactly did he say he didn't recommend them? I'd stay away from the Dunlop's personally (they are Z speed rated & will have a fairly harsh ride because of it & the extremely aggressive look of the tread pattern, they are not built for comfort).......Don't over rule the Falken's or you will be doing yourself a diservice bigtime! Do a search in the tire forums for more information. ;) You never mentioned what tire size you need (OE tire size). I assume they are 235 45 17?
  9. Good to know.....I'm going to be switching from Toyota IV to Amsoil ATF soon myself. B)
  10. I was thinking perhaps because the LS would be the oldest platform. Or perhaps it was just a european comparo only. Infiniti's flagship isn't there either so I wouldn't worry to much about it. ;) B)
  11. They either work or they fail. B)
  12. If the fluid is far past it's regulat drain interval, I suggest a 100% fluid change with a flushing machine......if your on schedule, a drain & fill is the way to go. B)
  13. Not even close jack :chairshot: It begs the question however......if it looks like a Taurus in your eyes & it's bothering you so much, why did you buy the ES in the first place then?
  14. I love the tail lights of the 2000 & 2001 models. :D B)
  15. What is the maintenance history of the transmission? IE: have all regular tranny fluid changes been performed on time?
  16. No generation ES even remotely resembles a Taurus! :chairshot:
  17. Couldn't agree more! B)
  18. You should notice an improvement with the changes you mentioned. B)
  19. the new avalon platform IS based* on the camry and ES frame. The front wheel drive. The new gs isn't alike at all... based* = stretched LOL <-i checked it out and it's true. just stretched. ;) I test drove the new avalon and desn't feel like a lexus. Looks like one a bit, but still doesn't feel like one. i can tell it's a toyota. ← I knew the new Avalon & GS share no platform or chassis underpinnings. B) A Ford Taurus YouDon't? What year is yours? First time I have ever heard an ES insulted that way! :P
  20. I was also going to suggest going to an auto wrecker or salvage yard. B) Ya gotta love plastic. :(
  21. The 2005 Avalon is a brand new platform I think isn't it? Not a modified platform of the 2000 - 2004 platform? B)
  22. VMF, I sent you one more PM for a carfax request. I won't bug ya after this lol Thanks. ;)
  23. You will get more naturally by selling the car privately rather than trading it in to the dealer. Have a look at what other RX's are selling for both on dealer lots & privately to have a rough idea of what yours is worth. Do you have all service records accounted for if you decide to sell it yourself? That will be very important to a possible buyer considering the engine sludge concerns. B)
  24. www.alldata.com & look for the TSB's.
  25. Correct, at this time, there are no immediate plans to build the 400h in Cambridge.......yet. B)
