  1. No. It is a federal offense for a carmaker to discriminate against someone who has their service done elsewhere than at the dealer. ← Correct, & the same goes for an independent repair shop (at least in Ontario) that is licenced & all correct parts & fluds are used. Keep all records, I do the same to mine & save big $$$. B)
  2. tck, Just go to Toyota.ca & click on 'contact us' & ask mention your complaint. They are usually pretty good responding. Good Luck. B)
  3. All different kinds of car brochures myself. B) ;)
  4. Alright, and that type of tire would be what exactly? :whistles: To the best of my knowledge, no tire maker makes or offers a tire specifically for a Lexus (except perhaps run-flats). If (and that's a BIG 'if') they do, please let me (us) know. I have a feeling I'll be very old or making that phone call.....from the horizontal telephone booth by the time that happens. ;) Many ES 300 & Camry models did actually come factory equipped with the exact same tire, depending on the model of Camry for example. It's kind of like being in court, & the lawyer ask's you to tell your version of something "In your own words".......do you have your own words? Seriously? I can't speak for you, but I've been using the same words everyone else has been using.......same thing goes with tires........many different ones fit many different vehicles for different climates & purposes to suit a driver & their needs. B)
  5. They should provide you with decent service sw........enjoy! B) ;) Just don't expect miracles in the winter with any all season tire. Reviews of all MXV4's (including the revised 'S8' * 'Plus' lines) are average at best & that was info from 6 different tire sites that have reviews, & the prices aren't exactly good value for what one get's (I had them on my ES & was very unimpressed & frankly dissappointed with their performance). I'm sure you will keep us posted however on their performance. ;)
  6. In addition to Autotrader.com, you might want to try & do a search on www.lexus.com & a search of 'CPO' (certified pre-owned) cars in the general area of where you will be relocating. You are bound to find something to suit your needs. Best of luck! B)
  7. I'm sorry, he is selling his car, but doesn't want to include the rims with the car, that's why he's taking my stock rims... ← I personally would not put those rims on a LS they don't even look good on the GS. Way too gaudy for my taste but to each his/her own.:whistles: ← I'm with DC on this one, but whatever floats your boat. I think they are too big personally.
  8. I concur. B)
  9. Why is he getting rid of his 20's to begin with?
  10. 1991 Olds Delta 88 Royal Brougham. Dark blue with all factory options. Had it 4 years, put 60,000 miles on her. Added tint, rust-proofing (worked at a GM dealer at the time) & synthetic oil. Good car, sold it to my Aunt who has since sold it as it was starting to have many problems. B)
  11. Agreed, & it's thirsty too. B)
  12. I have tried the Comfortreads, Triple Treads, Yokohama Avid Touring, Toyo 800 Ultra, Falken 512's & even spent a week with a car that was equipped with the Michelin Hydroedge. Have I tried them all........no, but I have tried many more than the 'average' driver has & some of the best rated to boot. ;) Again, you won't find the 'perfect' all season tire that does everything well in all weather conditions, but you can come fairly close all things considered if you don't want to invest in a set of winter rubber which you have stated in the past that you don't. One thing I found very intresting on tirerack was how many Subaru owners (a 'cult' type of brand as opposed to 'mainstream') went with the Triple Treads.......almost as many as Toyota owners with very good feedback. B) The new Yokohama Avid TRZ looks intresting as well, but no personal experence. B)
  13. The Triple Treads are considered a 'premium all season' not a 'touring' tire. I doubt you will find a 'touring' tire with a 740 treadwear rating. In many sizes, you can get the TT in H speed rating. B) What tires do you have on your 'short list' sw?
  14. Happy to help. If you find them too expensive.....get a quote from a Toyota dealer. Good Luck! B)
  15. Every so often, I get the same thing.......I use a swiffer! B) Fantastic little invention let me tell ya. B)
  16. Well I'm sure some have their limits........I'd sooner take public transportation than drive a Pinto lmao. :whistles:
  17. Will they fit any other Lexus vehicles besides the LS? B)
  18. Agreed & I let someone else 'break in' the vehicle, maintain it for me & take a good chunk of the depreciation hit. ;) B)
  19. My wife & I have to agree. B) ;) ← It all depends on how well they're taken care of etc. Is it just that you only want it for 5-7 years, or are you "hoping" for at elast 5-7 years? ← All service records will be accounted for before purchase & I have OCD if you will when it comes to maintaining (synthetic fluids, & the best replacement parts etc) & looking after my vehicles....which is meticulous. All my vehicles get fully rustproofed as well. B)
  20. thats always an option, but i want something with a bit more power and potential.. and i want something rwd ← Sounds like either a GS or LS is in the cards. B)
  21. My wife & I have to agree. B) ;)
  22. Do you have a specific car in mind Lex? I'm not 100% sure, but I think the law's vary from state to state........read all the fine print on e-bay with regards to that stuff. Being in Ontario, I wouldn't purchase a car out of province as the laws are different in different parts of Canada........Ontario has the toughest regulations in the country which is a benefit to consumers so there would be no reason to buy outside the province or country for that matter. B)
  23. Damn dude, your going to take one hell of a loss with the amount of cash you have sunk into the car. Bummer. :(
  24. Well said Steve! I have to concur with that statement. B)
  25. Not me personally, the only time I would consider it is from a well established dealer as opposed to a private party. B)
