  1. I agree.....I'd personally prefer the smaller OE wheel & tire size for the same reasons. B)
  2. It looks like some sort of a metal shield or plate under there. Post a daytime pic if you could, but it looks like it belongs there. B)
  3. I don't disagree sw......but the darn things are quite expensive Then again, so is a paint job I guess lol. ;)
  4. Yup, OEM only. ;)
  5. I agree & that's exactly what I do & have saved a ton of $$$ since I bought my ES. Stuff like the TB & WP however I will let the dealer replace just in case, but I will still shop around for prices. ;)
  6. Did they take professional driving school lessons? Although those courses are more expensive then a 'regular' driving school they are worth their weight in gold for safety & how to handle a vehicle in almost any condition. B)
  7. I put the 20% all round as I personally liked the idea of having one colour on all the windows. I felt that was the best of all worlds......light enough to see out at night, nice appearance (especially when it has rained) & dark enough that it won't fade & look cheap. Just make sure you get a quality tint, not cheap stuff. B)
  8. Speak to SW03ES......he's the master concerning this problem. :D My '03 ES is painted Millenium Silver and I find the paint on this car is pretty durable. I'm not saying it's impervious to chips, but it's as good if not better then the past Lexus's I've owned. ← I agree with amf, SW is the czar in this department. I've also experenced similar problems with my 01 ES.....not major mind you, but annoying & also have the car paint sealed & professionally detailed yearly. ;)
  9. I'm game......just have to make the automakers aware that we want such technology to become available sooner rather than later. :D
  10. Excellent & well detailed 'how to' B)
  11. Post a pic of it so we can get a better idea of what it looks like. B)
  12. Anything in the owners manual about that?
  13. Agreed. :whistles:
  14. I think you have it backwards dude.......the % means the amount of light that is allowed through the tint. I think you mean 35% on the front windows & 15% on the rest. Due to laws, I don't think you can tint the two front windows that dark.....as you might get a hard time from the police. I tinted mine with 20% (medium shade) in charcoal with a metalized Llumar tint. No problems with the dimming rearview mirror & no problems seeing out at night. Here is a link below......Good Luck! 15. E-bay, autotrader.com & usedcars.com are the best I can think of right now. B)
  16. Agreed Noya. B)
  17. How was the deer? lol ;)
  18. Good point Steve! B)
  19. So how much (ballpark figure now) was all the turbo upgrades? a couple grand total? B)
  20. Gotta love a V8 engine! :( You should get about 10 - 15% better fuel economy with the A/C off. Make sure your tire pressure is correct & at the proper air pressure.....that too kills fuel economy. ;) Take out any heavy & unnecessary items out of the trunk & back seat that you might have in the car (not the spare & jack mind you). Every little bit helps. B)
  21. Glad we can help & I'm sure I speak for many other members that we look forward to your posts in the future. That's what this site is all about......assisting fellow members the best we can. B) Enjoy your ES & post some pics when you can. :)
  22. Agreed, in the 2k - $2,500 range would be my guess....but not $8k B)
  23. After that is all done (4 wheel alignment included) let us know how your car feels. It should be a big improvement. B) Good choice in tires......one of the best overall values you can get in a performance all season! ;)
  24. What fuel is required now with the turbo? Regular or premium? Looks nice! B)
  25. My 2001 ES was not due to replace the spark plugs (Iridiums) until 90,000 miles. However I had them changed at just under 50,000 miles when I purchased the car (got the old plugs back as well)....it's just the way I am to make sure I get the best fuel economy & my engine is in top condition. I personally wouldn't go over 60,000 miles max no matter what type of spark plug is used. B) ;)
