  1. How are the tires on the car? Are all 4 the same? Could be a simple balance & alignment is needed. ;)
  2. You personally tested each & every car in that junk yard I take it monarch for synthetic oil huh? Knew each & every owner & how they drove the cars? :whistles:
  3. Welcome to the club! B) If at all possible, get an ES 300 with all service records & I agree, use synthetic fluids for it! B) Happy hunting. ;)
  4. Yup, it's not just the undercarriage one has to worry about. The seems of the hood (and underneith as mentioned since the engine warms up) , trunk, doors etc. I use the black 'undercoating' sym-tech for the underbody & the yellow paste sym-tech for all other body panels. ;) Krown is a decent product, but it's not permanent & is quite messy, especially if you have a garage. The product will drip all over the place for 2 - 3 weeks. Use a permanent product like Sym-tech or Vital, much more durable & lasts 5 - 7 years. Only a 'touch up' is required to maintain the body. B)
  5. That is correct to some degree, however lot's of people neglect their vehicles &/or fail to get salt off the body of the car when the temps warm up or a car wash may not be able to reach all the places to clean the salt off. This is where rust proofing adds that layer of protection. Most automakers offer a max of 5-6 years or corrosion 'perforation' coverage, where by there has to be a hole in the body before any warranty claim takes place (not surface rust as they won't cover a claim). By then, the damage has been done & rarely will a vehicle rust that badly in that time frame offered by the automakers anyways. ;) If a high quality rust proofing (and there many low quality ones) is applied professionally, moisture can't penetrate the metal at all anyways, never mind get trapped by the actual product. :)
  6. Correct, some are like Redline, NEO, Silkolene, Motul, Maxima etc. Most of these are a lot more then Amsoil and most race oils have moly in it, which over time, is bad. If you look at the UOA, you will see which are good or not. Blends to me are not in the picture since there are blends, not true synthetics. ← Fair enough, but dosen't Amsoil have their own 'race' oils? ;)
  7. And the best would be what then sk? :whistles:
  8. It depends on how you want your car to look long term sw. Rust protection up here is a VERY wise idea, no question about it so I have to completely disagree with you. :whistles: I've rust proofed every car I have owned over the years & still see them on the road on occasion & the body is still in awesome condition after 14 Canadian winters......91 Olds 88 & 91 Buick Riviera.....and the Riv is white). Resale value goes up as well when a possible buyer sees the rust-proofing. ;) Just NEVER purchase the rustproofing from the dealer.......they will bend you over the barrel bigtime.
  9. Aaron, it depends on what rust proof product your using. Krown is a yearly application so it's probably best to get it applied in late fall before the snow flies. I go to a professional rust proofer / detailer that uses a yellow paste product called 'sym-tech'. It's the best stuff on the market in Canada. I've had 2 applications applied I won't have to do it again for years. Krown's OK stuff, but every year is a pain in the butt because it's not permanent. B)
  10. Most auctions here, you can't get the car with service history. Your best bet here is the used car dept of the 'New' car dealer. B) Auctions are buyer beware.....if the car is that good to begin with, the dealer usually keeps it for a retail sale, unless it's a weird offmake. ;)
  11. I agree sw........it's a bit different however with the used car market vs. new cars, but I hear what your saying. B)
  12. Fair point mburn. ;) But if even if someone can save a couple hundred bucks on the deal.......it buys some of that more expensive gas we've all been forced to pay so every little bit helps. B) ← I agree 0% But when buying a $34K car, a would only hope that a few hundred is not going to make or break it. If someone gets mad over a few hundred when buying a $30K+ car, well I think you are buying the wrong car here. But that is me. ← All I'm saying is a couple or a few hundred bucks in the owners pocket is better than in the dealers.......that's all. ;) Having said that, neither party (customer or dealer) should lose the deal for the 'right car' over a lousy $$$.......but there's no harm in trying. B)

  14. Amsoil is 'simply the best' synthetic. :whistles: B) http://www.amsoil.com/performancetests/amsoil_vs_mobil1.aspx
  15. Agreed, call several dealers as well & see how much they are willing to take. Don't expect a huge discount however. B)
  16. There ya go.
  17. It was very cool to see both LOC & CL mentioned in the article! :D B) We got your back up here my American friends! Not much get's by us. ;)
  18. Not in Toronto bud. Close to a year for a trial? You do the math. ;) B) I got a 50/50 chance. Lot's of cases get tossed in this city.
  19. If the cop does not show, the case is tossed out! I have my fingers crossed. :whistles: ;)
  20. Your court date is quick! Mine will be anywhere from 9 months to a year! :whistles: :chairshot:
  21. Here is a used car review of the second generation GS. LOC & CL are mentioned near the bottom. Click the link below & enjoy! B) http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/cc/98-05lexus_gs.htm
  22. Just got this off CNN... http://www.cnn.com/2005/AUTOS/09/07/ford_recall/index.html
  23. No Canadian coverage from warranty direct! Oh well :cries: :(
  24. Don't sweat it 91LS, I got my first speeding ticket about a month and a half ago (after 13 years of driving). I was doing 83 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. It's a 4 point ticket & granted, my own fault, but I was kind of hoping the cop would knock it down slightly to a 3 pointer (under 30 km/h over the limit). I guess since I wasen't a 'voluptuous' stunningly attractive female :whistles: .......I was not gonna get even a slight break. See you in court officer! ;) :P <_<
  25. I believe that Kanye was simply expressing his true [drug running, thieving, ignorant,] feelings towards the race relationship in this country which he just took two steps back doing so. Can you blame him? I think not I would be upset also. However, I believe the way that he did was uncalled for and shows how negative he really is [ just try and listen to that crap he calls music ]. America was just beginning the long road of rescuing the disaster survivals and comments like he made was uncalled and unnecessary. He should have done something to help the cause like get his big mouth a#& down there to help and donate his $ to the cause, not hamper it with his negative innuedos. He needs to mature and get his priorities in order, He did more damage than good, As he probably knew, N.O.'s population is made up of over 70% African Americans. It only make sense that most activities, good or bad, will most likely involved this race of people. There is a difference between people (black or white) looting for foods, diapers, etc. and hand full of clothing, tvs, etc. If he really wants to keep it real, he should learn to deal with the issues at hand like saving the people from their homes and accept the facts that looting for necessities are far more forgivable than looting for the sake of looting. <_< I kept it clean against my better judgement in this case. ← Very well said & I couldn't agree more! B)
