  1. I'd get all 4 tires the same size personally. Just my 2 cents. ;)
  2. For a longer mileage SUV all season tire, I'd suggest you consider the new Toyo Open Country H/T (H/T stands for Highway terrain) & has a 640 Treadwear & 60,000 mile warranty. Here is some more info & check with several of your local Toyo dealers for prices. B) Hope this helps. http://www.toyocanada.com/products/OpenCountryHTEN.asp
  3. To our neighbours, allies & Friends in the United States & specifically in the Gulf Coast States, the Canadian government & Military has said in a nutshell.........whatever you want, need or demand from Canada, you got it! We have troops & supplies pretty much ready to go when the call comes.........personally I say the HELL with waiting for the 'call' GET DOWN THERE NOW!!!!!! :cries: From the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp): Canadian warships to sail to Louisiana Last Updated Fri, 02 Sep 2005 18:20:41 EDT CBC News Three Canadian warships, a coast guard vessel and three Sea King helicopters will be sent to Louisiana on Tuesday with relief supplies for the U.S. Gulf Coast. National Defense Minister Bill Graham talks with Russian Defense Ministar Sergei Ivanov in Moscow. (AP Photo) Defence Minister Bill Graham made the announcement from Moscow, Russia. The Canadian Coast Guard Ship Sir William Alexander will sail along with the Canadian Navy vessels, HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Ville De Quebec and HMCS Toronto (HMCS stands for Her Majestys Canadian Service). Naval crews were busy loading gear on to the ships in Halifax Friday as 1,000 personnel prepared to head to waters off New Orleans. Commodore Dean McFadden, who will command the deployment, said they were consulting with their American counterparts to determine what they will do during the expected month-long mission. He suggested duties would involve reconstruction, health care and humanitarian aid. "We will have the capacity to move people. We'll have the capacity to bring medical supplies and fuel capabilities," McFadden said as he stood on the dock next to destroyer HMCS Athabaskan, the command and control ship for the mission. "The specific jobs we're going to do, I'll wait until the Americans tell us what help they need." The vessels will work with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard and carry Canadian Forces personnel, some of them military engineers who might be able to help restore power and generate electricity. About 40 navy divers from both coasts were also expected to deploy with the mission, which got clearance after American officials accepted a Canadian offer of help. Rear Admiral Dan McNeil of the Joint Task Force Atlantic said organizers of the mission, dubbed Operation Union, were compiling a list of what's needed as U.S. officials continued to assess their requirements. The ships are expected to arrive in the Gulf of Mexico three to four days after they leave Halifax. No doubt MUCH more help will be coming from Canada VERY soon in addition to the above mentioned The State Department said offers of help had been received from: Australia, Austria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, China, Columbia, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Greece, Guyana, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela.
  4. Strike that SW, I received some PM's from Blake and he & his family are just fine. B) :D
  5. Regular unleded in Toronto was $1.34 per litre last night (Sept 2nd, 2005)!!! :chairshot: That works out to being $5.06 per U.S gallon & $6.08 per Canadain gallon! :o Considering Canada has the worlds second largest oil reserve in the world (right behind Saudi Arabia) this is shameful! :chairshot:
  6. Godspeed Josh!!!
  7. How did you find out SW? I just sent him a PM too......were worried about all members & citizens that have been effected in the gulf coast region. :( :cries:
  8. NOT SURE WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR IN THE FAQ. NOTHING IN THERE ABOUT OPTIMA PERFORMANCE MODULE THAT I SAW BEFORE MY EYES STARTED BLURING. NOTHING IN A SEARCH OF THE ES FORUM UNDER "OPTIMA", "+OPTIMA", "MODULE", "+MODULE" ETC. AND FOR THE SIG, MY PUTER STOPS AT ONE MORE ITEM LOADING AND JUST SITS THERE. THANKS. ← All that for under $20 huh? Well I'll pass personally......'if it sounds to good to be true'..... ;) We would all have them here if this was just the best things since sliced bread. FYI, in the future, please turn your caps off as it's considered shouting at people. B)
  9. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY LEXUS ES 330. I was just amazed that on the surface of this ES 330 Forum that there would be this many topics of mechanical failure discussions for Lexus; ie. Transmission Hesitation; 38 responses to Mods & Probs thread; Radio Probs; turn signal probs; Abs sensors failure... I have not read in all of the threads yet; but, again, I was just amazed that there were any mechanical failures.:cries: You guys just burst my bubble, since I thought (and still do think) that I HAVE THE BEST CAR IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! I LOVE MY LEXUS ES 330!!! ← One has to remember as well that Lexus sells tens of thousands of these cars per model year......the problems you mentioned above are few & far between all things considered & also remember.....no automaker has invented the 'perfect car' that will never have the odd mechanical or other gremlins & I doubt we will ever see that in our lifetime. Mburn was right, the JD Power ratings (as well as others) have Lexus on tope for over a decade now & I expect that to grow over the years. B) Just enjoy! :D
  10. Have you got any lease quotes yet from any Lexus dealers? If so, what are they? Prices will vary from dealer to dealer (sometimes by quite a bit per month) & don't be afraid to negotiate the monthly payment they qoute you. Many just see a lease monthly payment (as opposed to a finance monthly payment) which it should be significantly less than the finance rate (your only paying on the portion & time of the lease & car). Even if it's $15 - $20 per month less than another dealer......the money is better in your pocket than the dealers. Good Luck! B)
  11. I'd use 4 of the 245 35 19's personally. B)
  12. I'd use iridiums personally.....either Denso or NGK. They will last longer than platinums. Double check the owners manual.....I think iridiums were factory equipped. B)
  13. Welcome to the club & nice ride! B) Do you have the owners manual for the car? This will explain the workings in detail of the alarm system & you might be able to customize the settings such as the 'chirp' when it's activated. ;) About the odo....what dcfish said in his most recent post. The steering wheel pad assemply.......have a look at e-bay, auto wreckers or salvage yards & save $$$. B) Enjoy your 'new' ES! ;)
  14. Stuff made in Canada, the United States or Japan work for me! ;) B)
  15. Kind of like many Asian cultures see the number 4 as 'death' or 'bad luck' (and do not want the number 4 on their home or live on the 4th floor as an example) & see the number 8 as 'prosperity' kind of thing? B) Same as some see 13 as bad luck & others good luck. ;) Intresting stuff.
  16. Please explain what exactly Feng Shui is?
  17. Good point Imran. B) Post pics if you can & let's see how they look. ;)
  18. Are they OE (Lexus/Toyota) parts or aftermarket?
  19. I was at one time going to do a bypass filter for the engine oil. Did a trade study and not worth it. The initial cost and filters kill it. The ATF filter might be but I do not know without doing a study. The Amsoil Atf cost around $6 per qt and lasts 30 to 40K miles(for me). So that is $25 for 2 years of driving. I do not know what I would benefit form a filter. Less Cu, Fe, Pb, Al?? It will be interesting to see the Oxidation, TAN etc? If it is high or not. ← Keep me posted on the ATF test results. I'm curious as to your findings. B) How do you find your tranny shifts with the Amsoil ATF compared with the Toyota type IV? Mine is just fantastic & ever so slightly smoother & that was just a 'drain & fill' ;)
  20. I wonder how red would look? Would make them stand out more no? ;) Just a thought.
  21. Congrats on your purchase!! :D It's an awesome looking machine. Post pics when you can & best of luck! B)
  22. Yup.....agreed! B) I have no time for stupidity or even bother with these A$$ HATS. :whistles: :D
  23. A couple questions mburn. First, is it Toyota type IV tranny fluid your testing or the Amsoil ATF synthetic tranny fluid.....or a mixture of the two? Next, the 5W 40 Amsoil........I have heard that using the thicker '40' grade oil will decrease your fuel economy ever so slightly........any thoughts or comments? B)
  24. Best of luck to them! :D Should be an exciting tournament! B)
