  1. Yup, you are right. How many miles does your car have right now. People use 10W30 when the car has more miles on it, I'm think more than 150k. BTW: You have my favorite color.
  2. What color is better for scratches and paint chips, so the defects won't be too visible, Black? Because we have a white camry and the front bumper and some of the hood has some small paint damages due to hwy driving.
  3. Welcome to the club. And congrats on the new Lexus. What color is your car. There have been several post regarding wheather to use synthetic or not. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...01&hl=synthetic http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...41&hl=synthetic Basically, search for the word "synthetic" and you will find a lot of great posts.
  4. Well, people were talking about having more power or speed to pass cars with the O/D off so, I thought maybe power ON will help too. But, I didn't knew how the power worked though, until now. Thanks. BTW: I wasn't asking if it was supposed to be "ON" or "OFF" but thanks for clearifing.
  5. Hmmm <_< ...but the tranny still shifts buttery smooth, and the lurch is greatly minimized after it is warmed up....very confusing! Same here. Except, even if mine is warmed up it still lurches hard from R to P or R to D.
  6. An old post: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...mr\.+clean
  7. What about the "Power" button????
  8. I was referring to another car, our 1992 Acura Legend. The paint is severly damaged due to sun. My LS has some small roof damage too. See the LS Gallery pic #389 you can see behind the sunroof the paint is white. Thats after polishing and waxing, this helped a lot though. When I wash the car and some water is sitting on the roof then you can't see it. Here and there some Mecco commercials come on TV, that they do the whole car for around $200!!!
  9. $3,125 seems a whole lot. One of my neighboors got his old 1968 truck painted for $1,200, I think it was a customized paint job since the paint sparkles in dard green. Try some other body shops, I'm sure they will quote a lot less. Just last week I went to a Ford dealership where they also rebuilt cars and they quoted me $700 for the roof, trunk and some siding to blend in the color with rest of the car plus the area they are going to paint, the paint horrible and severly damaged.
  10. There are a lot of people with 0 posts.
  11. Look in yellow pages or anywhere else to find a pro who does leather work for a living. Here is a thread about it: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...wtopic=5563&hl=
  12. Well, lets just wait about 4-5 more years and see where the Gen. I&II miles reach.
  13. I had that done. Service cost was: $132 Gasket seal was: $5.94 Also, like MyLS430 said oil change is required with the job. Mine was leaking oil on the floor.
  14. I purchased BG 44K after I read some posts about it here at LOC. Is that stuff going to clug anything up and how much is to get the motor vac done, just an estimate??
  15. I have these on mine: www.sears.com/Goodyear Eagle T/R - P225/60R16 Goodyear Eagle T/R - P225/60R16 Are the Goodyear Eagle GA's the original tires that came with the 93-94's also??
  16. Maybe this is just my imagination, I think I read some where, where you posted that you were 30 years old. Or maybe that was someone else, I don't recall. But 30-33 years old.
  17. I bought my first Lexus in January, 2004 and found this forum after a week. And let me tell you, I visit this forum about more than 5 times a day. Since you are new let me give you the low down of the LOC. I’m only 17 years old and my birth date has been posted in my profile since the day I joined. I’m not an expert with cars internally, you can read throw my old posts and see what I have said. I talk about things that I know of: how to go about buying a maintained used car and where to find it or keeping it in a good condition by recommending the leather conditioner, waxes and so forth that I have used on my family cars or heck just give my opinion about something like rims or window tint, etc…. These young guys that have posted above, they know more about cars than most people here in this forum; nobody here cares how old you are, where you are from, or how much your car costs. The only thing that matters here is Respect, kindness and willingness to help each other out. And have a good time, period. I have learned so much about cars in the past few months that it is just unbelievable to me.
  18. Even if we knew your age it wouldn't change anything. ;)
