  1. Bump!!! Let me explain something. The ECU isn't a warning device. It's a data collecting and event logging system. The cel light that came up on your dash is really telling you that the ECU has logged an event outside it's programmed parameters, X times in XX amount of time. So, by just resetting the ECU, it may just be a matter of time before the ECU logs in enouph of those events in a specific period of time to throw the cel again. So, I would just drive it as normal now. If the light comes back on, then I would take it in to a tech and have them look at it to make sure everything is ok. If you take it in now, they won't have any data to read about what is going on, as you just reset the ECU and erased it. If it doesn't come back, then it must not have been a problem in the first place right? Thank you for your answer, I appreciate. My car doesn't give me cel again so far. But there some erratic rev condition since code came. For example, running in heavy traffic idle rev down to 300 rpm and stated there few minutes then rev established normal again. It occurred with and without AC. Verified all throttle body connectors, cleaned the air filter. Welcome for any suggestion to help with this. That would be a throttle position sensor. You may very well be having a sensor go out on you. If the sensor completely goes out, then whenever you come to a stop, the car will just die. Repeatedly. I would suggest having it fixed before that starts to happen.
  2. Page SS-42,Volume 1,Lexus 2000 Repair Manual RM715U1: Auto Transmission A340E,"Engine Stall Revolution, 2700 rpm". Page SS-44,Volume 1,Lexus 2000 Repair Manual RM715U1: Auto Transmission A650E,"Engine Stall Revolution, 2250 rpm". These values are also referenced several times in the diagnostics pages (DI-336,DI402) of the same factory manual. Then why would you need to modify the tc? the A650E that comes in the IS300 I know for sure isn't 2250 stall speed. I have a Level 10 tc with a 2800 rpm tc, and the stock one was measured by Level 10 at 1700 rpm.
  3. I'm already on the list. :)
  4. I think probably an '06 LS430 (or an '07 LS460 if the right one came along) or a new ES350 or GS350. So your definatley almost positive, you think.....LOL!!!!

Nice find. Looks great. Sounds like a good plan. I think they will probably meet you somewhere along the way with the suspension components and all. But I think it's a great idea. I'd do it. :)
  6. Welcome to the club! Congrats on the Lexus purchase. What color and combo did you get?
  7. beleive it or not, the stock Denso Iridium's are the best plug I've found. I run a turbo system on a set of regaped Denso's with no troubles. And they hold up by far the longest.

  9. I pretty much navigate my Ipod playlists and songs with the ^ v buttons on the steering wheel. A quick tap takes you to the next song, a solid push for a second and it switches to the next playlist. So I have about 30, 20-25 song playlists that I just assign a number to on itunes. I seperate mine by mood and type. Like I have 1 playlist is Lounge, 2 playlist is upbeat electronic and dance, 3 is Jazz, etc. etc. I haven't noticed any delay from the button to the system, unless I skip past a bunch of playlists at once, it sometimes takes a second to catch up, but that's expected I would think.
  10. 2700??? No way. The stock tc's are max 1800 rpm. I would get one atleast 2700-3500 rpm stall speed tc's. And if you really want to be able to launch add a tranny brake!
  11. Yeah, I have that in my IS.
  12. I have a Vaitech SL2 Ipod interface hooked in, so I have 30 gigs of music and video at my fingertips, and I think it sounds very nice! of course I also have an Alpine Vpower mono block and a JL Audio 10'' to do the low end work. Other than that the sound system is basically stock.
  13. Go to the top of this forum and look in the "How to" thread. There is a real easy step by step on how to reset that light. :)
  14. The best thing I like about this car is that it fits into my life great. Which I think is really the most important thing for me. It's just right in alot of ways. Not to big, and not to small. Stock form is fast enouph, rides great, and does everything I need it to. And I really like: 1) the little LED light that shines down over the center column and the foot panel lights under the dash. 2) a/c seats! Gotta love that! 3) Keyless entry/push start system. ( If it wasn't for my shop, I wouldn't have to carry keys anymore! 4) the tight luxo/sport feel of the interior and dash layout. 5) The look of the car. 6) voice command system. (It seems to work great for me!) 7) The HID/ AVS headlights are just cool! 8) I really like Lexus Nav system. ease of use and great info it gives me. (I do agree that we should not have the lock out part, but it is what it is. And it doesn't come up that often for me.) I could go on and on. I'm sure alot of you know that I'm a pretty big Lexus fan. :)
  15. I would go out to your car and press and hold the unlock button on your key fob and see if the windows and moonroof open to the position you found your car windows in before. If it does that, it's possible that the key fob was in a pocket that may have pushed the unlock button long enouph to trigger that function with out you realizing it. You can have that personal setting funtion disabled so it can't happen again by the dealership.
  16. and a pic!
  17. Both rears? Heres what I would do. I would take the trunk liner out to expose the upper bolt for the strut mounts. Then jack the car up and remove the rear wheels. Then loosen the lower mounts and the upper mounts. Then turn the spring by hand and just make sure it's seated in the collars right. Then torque the lower mounts back down first. Then retighten the upper mounts.(Specifically in that order) And just double check to make sure all the other bolts are torqued down tight enouph. Then put your wheels on and lower the car back down. I have a "How to" thread here at the top of this forum that you may want to look at to see what I'm talking about. I even mentioned that you need to start at the lower mounts of the struts and work your way up rather then from the upper mounts up to make sure the coilover is aligned and seated right to avoid this very problem.

I see you went to the front mount IC, so what size turbo did you go to? And how much boost are you running? I've had a ton of success combining the 02/meth sytems also. It actually makes your boost safer. (Yeah, I'm a power junky also.)
  19. The squeak could be a varity of different things. I will tell you ahead of time, it won't be easy to track down. I would first try to find out which one it is first. Do you know which one it is?
  20. Love the Work Emotions. (XD9's?) I have the Varianza T1S' on my IS. (4 month wait!) What else have you done? I see obvious suspension work, and a body kit.
  21. I have the "manual" steering wheel. <_< GASP! Did you buy the "AMC Pacer Memorial" version? :D Welcome to the LOC, by the way!
  22. atleast it doesn't look like a shorter IS /GS/ES version.
  23. Welcome to the LOC! Please don't type in all caps. Members read that as your screaming at them. I would use electronic parts cleaner or they also have MAF cleaner at the auto parts store. Heres the location: ( Don't mind the red arrows, I was showing someone else the location of some 02 sensors.)
  24. Welcome to the LOC! Yup, all normal as JENunnez put. The sound from the motor is the direct fuel injection system. It works alot like a diesel system does, so it kind of sounds like one also.
