  1. forclosing on the MacD's farm! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Time List I have to say that this Time list is in my new #1 spot on my list of stupid lists! Come on, the Nissan GTR is not on that list? I can even venture out and understand that horsepower and performance are not the only things that can make a car "exciting." Like for example the Toyota Prius/ Honda Insight could be viewed as exciting for what the family car is becoming with electric/solar technology. Or ( has anyone seen that Top Gear episode where Hammond goes to Toyota City and drives that white pod looking wheel chair car? What was that thing called?) That's exciting! The Tesla? Cool, but not on the list????? And now about some of the cars that are on the list, the Jeep Grand Cherokee? exciting? and the CTS station wagon? And the Toyota Venza? The TOP 10 MOST EXCITING CARS FOR 2010? Are they on crack? And hold on here, the Suzuki Kizashi? When did FWD, transverse mounted 4 cylijnder mid size cars get so "Oh Gotta have it!" again? Which takes us to the Volkswagon Golf.........yeah.......the Golf.....not the GTI....No,no.....the Golf is the most exciting car for 2010!.........Come on.
  3. Wow. Sorry to hear about this! But I'm glad to hear your ok. Last time I checked in you were just waxing the car and getting ready.
  4. this happens on alot of cars. It's just some gear grease from the window control arms. The back and forward limited motion can make the grease build up wide enouph to touch the window as it slides by. It's no big deal. You can either take it in and have them pull the door panel and wipe the side of the mechanism off or do it yourself.
  5. So in this video I would say they are taveling at about 45-55 mph? Seem close? I look at the front end of that car afterwards and think 35 mph, so let's just stay in the middle with 45. That's a ground cover speed of 90 mph or about 130-135 feet per second. When I watch the video, the driver is in and out of texting and reading for about 10 seconds and they focus on the texting for just the last 5 seconds. So traveling along, for the last 1000 feet or so barely pays attention to what's going on with the roads, then for next 350 feet essentially drives with her eyes closed. That accident started 30 or so seconds before any of those cars ever touched each other. I would say it was about 2 years ago when I was driving my 05 IS300 when a young girl, (16-19) in a blue MB ran right thru a 4 lane intersection. 3 or 4 cars and trucks slammed on thier brakes to avoid her. I was making a right turn and she almost plowed right into me. And she kept right on going! So I chased her down to the next light, all the while she was still texting. When I caught up to her and beeped the horn I motioned for her to roll down her window and when she did I told her stop texting and drive! She ran a red light, almost caused a wreck and so on. She just blew me off! Gave me the "Whatever!" and drove on! Next time I should get the liscence plate number just in case. One street over form where this happened was where a texting teen driver hit and killed a mother and her 2 kids, one was in a stroller, as they were walking across Goldenrod Rd. She was "talking on her cell phone" was her excuse! The police checked and verified that yes indeed she was on her cell phone. She was charged and sentenced to prison. Didn't that train wreck that just happened not to long ago linked to texting also? Dang, and their on tracks!
  6. Hello, and welcome, what color did you get? How long does it take to go from open to close? and from close to open?
  7. WWwwwoooooWWWW! Nice!! and it's a great color combo too.
  8. Maybe like an Appendix, it's been "engineered out" by evolutional design. :)
  9. So they checked the ballast first? Didn't you have a problem with the light not coming on sometimes?
  10. Yep. I completely agree. If your running R12 now, they have to evac and capture all the remaining R12 that's in the system first. They have 134a retrofit kits cheap now. If it's already retofitted, then that's easy.
  11. It looks like it could be a boat just after it started to take off. No? LMAO!!
  12. I saw this video and thought if I showed this to just one person who stopped or didn't text because they saw this, then it was well worth it. One warning though, it's pretty graphic. But honest and straight. Texting and Driving
  13. To answer your questions, if you want a sub 12 second SC, your pretty much talking about a full engine prep for turbo, 8:5 to 1 comp forged piston set up, connecting rods, wrist pins, buttons and all. You'll be surprised at how well the Toyota head flows already, but I know alot of people that still do the head work anyway seeing as how your going to need to swap out to forged valves anyway. I would do a Meth/02 system and single turbo set up. Once you get the drivetrain squared away, the biggest advantage I see here is with your Honda your pretty much at the top of the range of power your going to get without starting all over anyway. So if your going to start all over, an SC or GS, or IS, is going to give you alot more HP potential then the Honda's. Not to mention rear wheel drive instead of the Honda gotta catch ya to pass ya FWD technique. LOL!! There's an SC here in Florida blowin 7 second 1/4's. The only time I ever saw him lose was to an MK Supra that dropped a 6.36 1/4 :o !!! and a Grand National that runs about the same times. But that's only because another friend of mine that lives around the corner from me hasn't run his twin turbo charged Tundra 4.3 liter V8 Supra yet. (Shaking head in complete disgust with just how sick that set up is.) Man that car is a beast!
  14. Wait, hold up a second....... The 2JZGE can't pull a 1000 hp on stock internals. That's just crazy. 400 to 450 is about the max. There are 2JZ's pulling over a 1000 hp, but they have custom forged bottom ends and drivetrains. The Supra's 2JZGTE's come with forged internals and can hold up to about 500 hp. Although I've seen a few go to 600hp. I don't think they lasted very long though. The 2JZ is a great platform to build from. Alot of the issues and blueprints have already been done, so it's fairly easy to get to whatever hp goal you have except for the archilles heal, the weak transmissions. Even with a full race built trans done by Level 10, (upgraded sprags and clutch packs, valvebody, line pressure boost, heat treated planetaries and sunshell etc. etc.) the transmission can only hold about 400-500 hp. So you have to go with the Getrag V160/V161 which is big bucks or go with something else altogether and hope it all comes together ok.
  15. Yeah, but this pic looks like it's missing a lug, no? or maybe you just hadn't put it back on yet when this pic was taken?
  16. Very nice. SW said it perfectly, 11 years old? Amazing!
  17. I don't know people. It's hard for me to just agree with changing the trans fluid every 30k miles or so when I consider that the interval of "lifetime" is coming from the same mfgrs that have been very relectant to extending oil change intervals even though so many here are already doing that. Of course the dealerships wopuld love to take your money every 30k miles for trans fluid changes. I want to be clear though. I'm not for or against changing trans fluids. I just need to see more data and come to my own conclusion about this which I haven't been able to do. Until then, I'm just going with the mfgrs. spec.
