  1. do a search this topic has been beaten to death around here. ;)
  2. i don't really see how the rubber intake house can get clogged, but anywho if you are going to clean that you need to clean your throttle body......that will yield the biggest noticeable gains. better throttle response, better idle ect....... just go pick up some STP throttle body cleaner at you local autoshop....it runs about 2 dollars per can......STP i beleive is one the best in that category
  3. IMO, Yes.........we have a member who has a Gen 1 silver LS who has the clear corners and wheels like mine........and it looks really clean and classy.... he had a pic, but i forgot who it was <_<
  4. i also have the Falkend Ziex ZE 512's 225/60/16 had them for a couple months, replaced Dunlop SP i thought at first they were just a tad on the noisy side, but that subsided.....they are a great tire, cool tread pattern and sidewall, Execellent wet traction i am very please so far
  5. there are several ways to get the bushings out ie....heat it up, cut it out......but i see what you mean, you want it done right for sure. good luck
  6. thats right.........i have a buddy who has a 91 LS that has aftermarket 18's, i don't particularly like the look, but they clear no problem, no rubbing....
  7. like i said in my earlier post, my mechanice charged my somewhere between 40-50 dollars, to replace one bushing. so obviously it doesn't take that long to do......its just a simple bushing replacement. if they are wanting to charge you 500 bucks, you are taking up the A**.
  8. i agree, ebay is your best and cheapest bet........i've seen them go for aournd 30-50 dollars
  9. Lexuspros.com has the cheapest ones i've seen.....even cheaper than the vendors on ebay because of their hidden shipping costs which are usually $18 or more. On a side note: if you becomes an LOC Gold Member you can save an additional 10% off your purchase from Lexuspros and other Lexus part dealers
  10. do a search, this topic has been talked about plenty of times, you will find everything you need to know ;)
  11. yeah you have to be carefull alot of those chrome rims listed are just actually chrome exchange with a rediculous deposit..... atleast get the 16's, it is unreal how much the bigger tire, makes the car handle. 17's wouldn't be much different from the ride of the 16's. i do like those wheels though and i've seen them go for cheap as well. just be patient, a good deal will come along. ALL LS wheels are interchangeable, between generations. for example i have 98-00 wheels on my 92 if you really want to go all out, get the new '04 430 18" chrome 5 stars. they are the best looking LS wheel made IMO, sweet looking, in the near future thats what i'm going to get, whenever i find a reasonable deal. here are the wheels i'm talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=43958 good luck all :D
  12. just change up your search words......if you are going to buy new wheels, and are sticking with OE (which i reccomend) i would personally go with at least the 16's.........like mine, off of a 98-00 LS <---- the 15's are hideous IMO, and you will get a ton better handling witht the bigger tire as well (225 60 16) instead of the tiny (205 55 15) that are with the 15's you will just have to be a little patient, to find the chromes, they are out there, but you don't see them as oftern as the aluminum OE LS wheels. and they usually bring top dollar (especially the 98-00 5 star LS wheels like mine, but in chrome) expect to pay a good amount for them. i'll search, and post what i find. chrome LS 17's with tires http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=66483 those are the only good ones i see right now
  13. thats odd, i just typed in "Lexus wheels" and it pulled up 673 items. might want to search again
  14. yeah i agree, stay OE for sure. ebay is your best bet. you can find those non chrome 94-97 LS 16's on there for cheap, you will pay a little more (probably 100 bucks or so) for the chrome
  15. a years use out of them is pretty average, i had mine in for 2 years, and wanted to try some others. no, another bulb will not work........it won't match, and/or the beam pattern and light output will not be the same. Silverstar bulbs are bright white and wouldn't match a regular "yellow" type of bulb. it would look like crap your options are: 1 buy a replacement silverstar 2 buy a new set of bulbs
  16. since the car isn't drivin often its probably just condenstion drying and causing the rotors to have a slight bit of rust build up, therefor causing the squeeking.
  17. i had that problem a year or so ago, but my diff. bushing was actually shot.... when i would shift into D or R and the diff. would torque it would hit metal to metal, and sound off a loud poping noise.... i thought it was a tranny problem so i took it in..... but to make a long story short,it was the diff. bushing and my mechanic fixed it for around 40-50 bucks, the bushing itself was along the lines 15 dollars
  18. do you have a panned out pic of that one?
  19. thats about right, from what i've seen
  20. thats one clean lookin LS wood wheel and all, does it have navi
  21. we have a family accoutant i'll talk to him.......and even better my G/F is an accounting major she graduates this fall :D
  22. cool deal, yeah i guess you could say i'm "young" 25, hell i feel old but anywho, i guess i just don't know where to start as far as, should i just go to the bank and talk to them, or what its an established company and i do have a pretty large down payment available.
