  1. i went with the Falken Ziex ZE 512's........225/60/16 with a little research and help from Freak i mounted them a couple of weeks ago. (they replaced my worn Dunlop SP's) i'll tell you, i love em........quiet,smooth, and absolutely great wet traction, tread pattern and sidwall look cool too. no more gettin sidways on wet roads.............(although it was kinda fun)
  2. sounds like you hit the nail on the head.........its the Air Susp.. take her in to your fav. mechanic and have him check it out. as i don't think its a DIY (could be wrong though) sorry, i know nothing about A.S. setup though. <_<
  3. 92 hands down.......it sounds like it was really well taken care of........timing belt/WP outta the way........smooth sailing :) $4,900 is more than fair, for properly maintaned GEN 1 LS that clunk is a very common issue, and is easily fixed, it is either, worn bushings, ball joints, or bad struts, no biggie......very common...
  4. stick with OE.......keep it true........ B) they have some really SWEET looking factory wheels for the new LS's, 18's in fact, in tripple chrome......no aftermarked wheel (maybe except for Wald Executive) look better IMO these are the goods right here, although this particular link is just for chrome exchange, it will give you an idea of what i'm talking about.... if i didn't just buy brand new tires, i would have these.......so i'm gonna wait till they wear out a little b/f i proceed. but anyway here they are http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33749
  5. its a pretty straight forward and simple job to do with the right tools........ you should probably expect about 4 hours or so labor from a reputable mechanic. yes i would stick with the OE equipment, as not to effect the ride the ride quality of the car........ shocks and strut replacement is a very general maintence on these cars, although they do last quiete a long time, but generally if you are into the 100K range or over, its about that time...... after market shocks and struts for example Tokico brand, although can be had for really cheap, they are a little too rigid for the LS, it all depends on your preference, Tokicos are very firm, and provide a much firmer feel than OE for more responsive handling..........but you will loosing some or most of the "floating" smooth feeling that the LS is notoriously known for...... i've personally road in both applications, same year LS, around same miles, and i prefer OE.. good luck
  6. thats a fair price....96'.... low miles, for an LS anyway
  7. i agree with Army, sounds like the torque converter for sure....... take her to you local independent and get it checked out
  8. i agree with Blake......the 98-00 LS400's are my Favorite for sure... SWEET.... their looks will always keep them with the upmost class. the 430 are very nice as well though,.......but i would save the money and buy a 98-00, if patient you will be able to find a really good deal. but beware, they will not touch the power and performance of an SL500, they are really 2 complete opposite cars........... although the LS's do have more than enough power for everyday driving. heck wait until 06 when the 500+ HP LS comes out......the price tag is gonna be up there though........thats gonna be something to see right there..... either way you look at it, i have no doubt you will be happy with any LS series you buy.
  9. WAY overpriced man, i mean they are used parts..........if you were a little bit more reasonable, i'm sure you would sell a lot of parts through the LOC but most of us know where to get new parts a lot cheaper than you are asking. if you would come down substantially on your prices, you could probably get rid of all of your parts on here
  10. ok will do, probably first of next week, you'll love it its really cool, and works amazing i'm really impressed....... more cold air more power (although its kind of ironic since i never get on it) but its still fun to have, and it was fun to make B)
  11. yeah i've heard about that........a co-worker of mine was talking about it one day....he is really into the hybrid thing.... i read somewhere where one of the prototype Lexus hybrids (don't remember specifics) has somehting upwards of 400 HP........ .............half mechanical motor, half electric motor......those electric motors can produce some serious HP and torque.
  12. there is a reason we have rules.......for people like YOU..... if you don't like it leave
  13. Total loss.............just make sure you work with your ins. and make them give you fair market value they will try to low ball you, but stick in there and press for the money you want, eventually they will give in.
  14. i'm going outta town the rest of the week for X-mas i'll take em on sunday or so and shoot em over to you buddy.......
  15. you can buy the center cap little L's individually you could glue them to the aftermarket center caps
  16. just print it out for refernce....thats what i do :D
  17. what are you asking? or what do you need from us?........... looks like you have a diagnostic from the dealer on what needs to be fixed....so thats apparently what needs to be fixed.
  18. once it starts to peel there is nothing you can do yourself to fix the problem it is like cancer it will will spread and get worse and worse over time, you need to nip it in the butt. 100 bucks is a really good price, do it. and they would be perfect afterwards. its the only solution, unless you want to buy new rims.......
  19. its always a good idea to stick with what the manual says i use Denso iridium but NGK is also a good choice.
  20. a waiting list for a Toyota Prius?????? i guess this hybrid thing is really taking off.......
  21. its on the drivers side fuel rail, but............... i very seriously doubt your fuel filter is clogged, that is a very uncommon problem with the Lexus V8 its more than likely something faulty in the ignition, or a broken vaccum line or a dirty throttle body, or bad Maf, but in all honesty i doubt its the fuel filter
  22. Save your 20 bucks.......and buy some microfiber towels those things are a joke.......you are better off doing it by hand........ get yourself a Porter Cable 7424........you won't be dissapointed i promise
