  1. Not sure I understand. The wheels you have are 144.3 bolt pattern?
  2. Considering its weight and size, yes the SC handles pretty well. Matched up against an IS, though, I'd pick the IS. Now this is only in the handling category stock vs stock. Body style wise, I'd have to go with the SC.
  3. Do you know the bolt pattern, wheel width, and offset for those rims? The Lex needs 5x114.3 and different offsets depending on the wheel width. I doubt if it will work but you never know.

  6. I tried this thing a few weeks ago on a very stubborn stain in the car. I have not been able to get it out with anything else. Although the Magic Eraser did not get it all out, most of it is. I may try a few more times. ;) I think there is a disclaimer about using it on dark surfaces though. I have a tan interior and I did not see any fading from the usage. I don't know about darker parts of the car or darker interiors though.

For a GS, this is one typical setup on 19s: 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 +38 offset 19x10 with 275/30/19 +42 offset There are ways to play around with the offsets depending on how agressive you want to go and even tire size but this set up should be safe with no rubbing. I've even heard people going 19x9 in fronts but I'm sure there was some fender modifications there. Then there is also the wheel manufacturer. They may have offset/customization availability.

  9. Ah, the infamous low/rough idling issue. The GS has a history of this problem. If the car is under warranty, I would take it to the dealership. If not, there have been varying success with cleaning the throttle body, the MAF, and/or replacing the 02 sensors. Now the quickie solutions have been to drive with either AC and/or headlights on. Don't laugh, Try it. ;)

The Veilside kits are supposed to fit great, but they are fiberglass plus you may or may not like the style. Since a body kit is an appearance mod, everyone has different styles. It is probably best for you to look at some samples and decide on a few. Then people with knowledge of those particular kits can comment on fit and make. Good luck.

That is one loaded question you asked. ;) You'll need to provide a little more info: budget? size (18, 19, 20)? same size all around or staggered? style (dish, 5-spoke, 6-spoke, mesh, ...)? planning on big brake upgrade? lip? finish (painted, polished, chrome)? weight an issue? build (cast, forged) an issue? construction (1-piece, 2-piece, 3-piece)? Sorry to dump a load of questions on you but any info on your preference will help the wheel gurus give you a better qualified answer.

  15. There is no plug and play projector setup. You can do a retrofit (or pay someone to do it) but that's about it.
  16. What kind of ride are you looking for? I've had both and I liked both. It just depends on your ride goal.
  17. In general, I'd say upgrade your shocks and springs. Twisties can also benefit from sway bars. steviej already mentioned the wheels but it sounds like you should stay with stockies if you are concerned about potential damage. That said, I don't know enough about ES aftermarket parts to recommend specific brand/product. I assume you want the ride to remain as luxurious/lexus-like as possible while reducing the float at the same time. You will lose some of the lexus ride but you can find a good compromise point. If you had a GS, I'd know what to suggest for you. The best I can do is to suggest areas to upgrade and hopefully an ES member can give specifics. Also, it would be good to convey your budget. That may guide the other members to give you more informed suggestions. Good luck.
  18. how is there loss of sidewall??? the profile is the same ratio, 60. i also disagree that speedo would be off, tire width has no affect on that. i dont think a 10mm width difference is dangerously critical, especially as far as braking. it's even possible that a better tread pattern/compound on one tire would make up the handling difference over a wider tire. the only thing you've gained with narrower tires is that they cost less and you'll have improved mileage due to less rolling resistance. take the tires back, insist they put the correct tires on for the price you've already paid, just be persistent but not confrontational since it was their error ;) I think skperformance explained the sidewall issue. Thanks. :) As for speedo, tire width is related to sidewall which affects the outer diameter which will then affect the speedo. I just listed some of the things that are affected by the difference in tires. I also said that the changes are small which means there may not be a big noticeable difference. Still, he did not pay for these "smaller" tires and since it was not his mistake, why compromise even slightly?
  19. So can we get this stuff at local stores or is it a specialty item (online, phone orders). Sorry, I've never heard of the product but is intrigued a bit by it. I use the Zaino products for my car but this system looks interesting. I'd still want to use the Zaino for shine and protection but am not married to the wash part.
  20. Wow no hose? Are you passing along info or are you a sales rep/manufacturer? Cost? Availability? How does this compare to the Mr. Clean wash product which claims no spot drying. Similar idea different methodology? How does this interact with other cleaning products: waxes, polymers, ...? Thanks.

  22. I would go back and get it fixed. Odometer/Speedometer will be incorrect Wider tires = better handling/braking Bigger outer diameter and width helps to fill out the wheel well better in all directions. Loss of sidewall = less comfort and that is a selling point of the LS. Albeit some of these changes are relatively small but why compromise at all when it is the mistake of the tire shop.
