  1. It should be fine. Here is some light reading for you. ;) :D http://www.lexusgonewild.com/articles/WheelFitment.shtml
  2. I saw that on CL too. By the time I saw it though, 2 other guys already responded. :(
  3. So let's assume you will be riding on 18s. The ride quality degrades a bit from 16s to 17s but not much from 17s to 18s. The must have mod then would be to get front and rear sway bars. Since you are not looking for the absolute handling sways (TRD Racing blue), I would highly recommend the Daizen Sport Tuning sways. I have run both. The Daizens are maybe 95% of the TRDs in terms of handling crispness but the ride quality does not really change with the Daizens while you will be tossed around a bit with the TRDs. Try this to see if it is enough for you. Also, handling and ride quality is also determined by the shocks and springs you have. Do you know what shocks and springs are on your car right now? There are no camber kits for the GS. You can wait on the STB until you see if the sways are good enough. The steering ECU helps tighten the steering at highway speed but not much at all at low speeds. The feel is somewhat subtle though. It is not night and day so YMMV. Do you want more power or for the car to respond better? For daily driving, the GS400 has ample power. You can get a better response off the line by adding a high stall Torque Converter and a Limited Slip Differential. With these, you will not get more power, just more efficient power and take off at the line.
  4. That is an awesome deal. I've been looking on eBay for a set too but got too busy to check everyday. Right during my break, there is a good set for a great price. Oh well. Congrats.
  5. $55 for both housings? That's a phenomenal deal. Just in case, you cannot use the standard HID kits in this housing. The usual HID kits are 9006 replacements. The ones that will fit in your HID housings are D2R bulbs. You might as well get the Lexus ballast since it will fit nicely under your housing.
  6. When are you planning to get the L-Sportline? I'd rather wait (if it is not too long) and put that $400-$500 (lip + paint (+ install?)) towards what you want.
  7. The 98 Pioneer system (non Nav) has Bass/Mid/Treb controls. I don't think you have Nak.
  8. This really should depend on your priority. The only two things you called out are performance and good ride. Let's break it down. Performance - What kind? Power? If so, how much power. Handling? Since you are already lowered? How much lowered? Is that a good height? You want more? less? Good ride - Again. Good handling? Or good ride quality? You should look at handling and ride quality as the two ends of a guage. As you move towards one, you move away from the other. How much handling do you want and how much ride quality do you want to sacrifice? Another contribution to these are the wheels. Are you happy with the 17s? Planning to go bigger? How is the handling and ride quality of your current setup? What do you like and dislike about it? And just as important. How much are you willing to spend? Sorry to answer your question with more questions. The nice thing about the GS is that there are quite a number of quality mods for it. It is just a matter of getting what you want. As you elaborate on your needs, the guys here (me included if I can help) will give your questions a more qualified answer.
  9. If you like it, go for it. B)
  10. Thumbs down for me. One on each side seems more balanced.
  11. Congrats Mike. I think you'll like the change. :)
  12. What do you mean when you say "no bulbs/ballasts"?? If you have no bulbs or no ballast's, you don't have anything.... You need the ballast's to power up the bulbs and you need the bulbs to get your light from.. HID's only consist of bulbs and ballast's... I think he means the housings.
  13. Spacers will help somewhat. I know people you have put on spacers in the rear with OK results. The fronts, however, cause vibrational issues. I'd recommend against it. Plus, you are still running narrower wheels on a somewhat beefy car.
  14. thows are overlays i belive ,im looking for some one who takes the stock items in the car and transforms them into the black wood look. How much are you planning to spend? I know of a source in Japan that can do and has done this but it is ot cheap: $500-$600. Let me know if you are interested and I can put you in contact with the right person. BTW, I tried to PM this to you but your PM is disabled somehow.
  15. It is a totally replaceable part. You will need the whole cover and wiring harness. It also only comes in black and is plastic. The "leather" piece will have to go. This mod is not just the rings. Also, another benefit to the upgrade is the locaiton of the turn signals. They used to be in an awkward position for most people and the new cover addresses this problem. If it is not a problem for you, then you may not care about this new feature. :)
  16. Chris, you didn't get my Pm I sent you?? Nope. But this works too. Probably helps a few others. :)
  17. Rezax II and Equips Mike? ;)
  18. You must have missed in my post when I linked SpoilerDepot that it is the replica. ;) I know a few people with the replica and they like it just fine. Not sure if they still are that price but when I looked last year, the OEM ones were 1k+ (also in my post). :D If that is the look you want, I say go for it.
  19. I think he has the owner's manual. I think he is talking about the service manuals. :D
  20. If you have a floor jack and are not lowered or have a kit that will hinder a jack from getting to the middle of the car, you can use the suspension cross member in the front or the differential in the rear as jack points.
  21. Yes, you can get the spoiler without getting the rest of the kit.. And the price for the Win Spoiler would be $550.00 That's a nice price. I should have talked to you before getting mine. :( Oh well.
  22. Gotcha! I'm not planning FI until next year and it may not even be SRT. The price was interesting but I'll just wait to do it all next year if what you say is true.
  23. The spoiler is 600+. I'm not sure how much they are exactly with the Yen being stronger now.
  24. Which points in which manual are you referring to? The 4 points on the side of the car in the owner's manual? Or the two in the middle of the car in the service manual? Which ones are not convenient?
  25. Really? That's no good. :( Also, this is what is listed on the website: Lexus GS4**/LS4**/SC4** Models: Price $950.00 + s/h. Lexus IS300/GS300/SC300 Models: Price $995.00 + s/h. dgraves1277, Can you confirm your price quote? Thanks.
