  1. You can get the replica SportDesign ones for relatively cheap: http://www.spoilerdepot.com/Catalog.asp?A=...ModelTemp=&idB= Compared to the 1k+ price of the OEM one, this is a steal. ;)
  2. It depends on how sensitive you are to your steering. The ECU will not help too much at low speeds but will tighten the steering at highways speeds giving you better control/feedback.
  3. Wow. I'd jump on that if it is correct. The PI for the GS300 is about $950. The ones for the GS400 is about $850. Is it used? I may have to contact SRT myself if that is the price for a new one.
  4. The UGO and RMM bars will also fit the 2nd Gen GS300.
  5. Try John at Exact Motorsports in Milpitas.
  6. I don't think that is technically the DRL. Even the cars with DRLs can turn on the "parking lights" that is the wedge bulb. ;) Anyways, here are a few more places you can put the M4s: rear door bottom light rear passenger doom light front door bottom light side marker If you want to go wild, you can also do this: front central doom light - m16 front map light - m17 backup light (98-00 tailights) - m2 backup light (01+ tailights) - m6 The lights under the front leg area is harder to match. Also there is the light in the glove compartment. I have not seen good recommendations for these areas. There is also the license plate light but I don't know if I'd want that even more visible. ;)
  7. I've seen 21s on a GS but I would not do it. It looks unnatural. Too big. Even with 20s, you will need a bodykit. Without a kit, the car looks too high to me, even with some lowering. If you are pretty conservative with the drop and wheel offset, you should not get regular rubbing.
  8. Whenever you go to bigger rims, you go will have to go to a smaller sidewall to keep the overall outside diameter the same (or close). Although there are a few other factors that contribute (in a minor way), less sidewall equals less cushion. The low profile tires that have smaller sidewalls also have more rigid sidewalls to help wheel protection, which then degrades the ride a little more. BUT, your car will look (subjective ;)) and handle better. It just depends on what you want to get from the car. It is a balancing act unfortunately. Nothing is for free. ;) :D
  9. Glad that the hesitation problem seems to be "fixed" for you. I'd be careful driving without Vehicle Skid Control on. I know of a few people who have gotten into trouble driving too aggressively without the benefits of VSC.
  10. i tried, but they wouldn't fit do 2 my wheel offset in the front and i don't believe in spacers.. Believe me. We all wanted him to get the brakes and offered all kinds of info. Ultimately, the nice lips on his wheels came with a price. :(
  11. Huh? Did you get threads confused? ;) MrSypher's lights are pretty blue. I think he is using Polarg M6s. These will fit the wedge bulb socket but they run at a higher wattage than stock. I run Polarg M4s. They are not as bright as the M6s (probably because they are only 5w vs the 18w of the M6s). They are, however, white and they match my 6000k HIDs (non-OEM) pretty well.
  12. Depends on how much you want to spend. You can start with the white halogen bulbs but those are NOT HIDs. You can then go to a HID kit which will fit into your 9006 housing ($400 or so). You can buy and install the Lexus OEM HID (housing/bulb/ballast) but you will have to skip the leveling computer part of the OEM system. Lots of problems=$$$$$ to do that. The first part is more manageable, just some wire splicing. ($300 - $400 used on eBay, less if you are patient/lucky) Then lastly, you can get a full HID projector retrofit. This is pretty expensive though. (about $1k) Like I said, depends on how much you want to spend.
  13. The pic I posted is a MB retrofit. If you can do bodywork, then you can probably get it done. The person I know who does it charges roughly 600 and he'll need your (or a set of) side mirrors. This includes painting and the MB lights. It is a little cheaper if no paint is involved. The problem is that there is almost no space inside the mirror. You would have to remold the mirror to add space for the lights.
  14. Try contacting Steve Ganz over at Carson (CA) Toyota. I get all my OEM (and then some ;)) parts from him. Steve Ganz CarsonToyota/Lexus Parts TRD/L-Tuned/TTE Tom's Racing/L-Sportline/Tein coil-over gonzo4u@earthlink.net 1-800-908-6968
  15. No pics here either. ;)
  16. I'm surprised to hear that white Sportivos would give you that much ride quality problems. I've had the Racing (blue) sways on and they were stiff. BUT the handlign was phenominal. I am riding on Daizen sways now and theya re pretty soft to me. I've lost a smidge of handling capability but gained a lot of the ride back. Still, I have always heard that the Spotivos are pretty soft. I'm not sure what to tell you. I currently have sways (and a lot of "useless" braces ;)) but the ride is still pretty nice. I guess it all comes down to different individuals' butt-o-meters.
  17. Cool. Let us know how you like them. The M6 I talked about are brighter but they do run at a higher wattage. If it is just the color that you are concerned about, then these M4s should work out just fine.
  18. The GS400s do tend to idle low. You are not the only person to experience this. Listen to jtanoyo1 and do the throttle cable mod. I know of may owners who are happy with this change. Just don't over do it or else you'll be always riding your brakes to slow down.
  19. Since you just bought this, I assume you do not know the driving manners of the previous owners. The cheap test would be to reset the ECU. Look in the engine compartment at the fusebox near the battery. It is labeled ECU-B. You can also unplug your battery (neg) too. Either way will work. Leave it out for a few minutes and put things back together. The ECU learns your driving habits. If the previous owner was gunshy with the throttle, the ECU will adapt to that and adjust shift points to maintain a smooth ride. So reset yours and drive how you want and see if it helps. Since most of us don't mash the pedal at every light, you may need to reset the ECU periodically if you want to regain the response. A warning, though, doing this will reset much of the electronics: radio settings, seat settings, ... Small price to pay though. ;) Another cheap mod that may help is to tighten the throttle cable a little. Lexus left some slack in it to "help" with the luxury smooth ride response. Be careful how much adjustment you do though. This cable also determines how your car slows down when you release your gas. You may need to brake more since it will not slow as quickly. Other than that, a full tranny flush does wonders.
  20. If you are looking for power off the line, then you will need a high stall torque converter. The popular one is the Precision Industries Dragon TC. It goes for about $950 and installs for $400 - $600 depending on where you go. Keep in mind that this mod does not give you more torque. It just lets you maximize the torque that you have. Go to the PI website. They should have a bit more info for you: http://www.converter.com
  21. what? :P She's speaking in female code or just gibberish, since I am an expert in this field, I will decode what she is saying She's asking what the offset is on the rims <_< Haha! How did you get to be such an expert in this field? ;) I also assumed she was talking about offset. Hey Alexus, What is your car lowered with? I did not see specs in your sig. I also assume the sig and pic is old since you said you had the TTE grille and neither the pic nor the sig reflects that. :D
  22. The DRL's are not the high beams running at 50%. The DRL's are seperate bulbs located in the high beam reflector housing. At least this is the case in the '98 GS300. What year car are we talking about anyway? Hmm. Let me check some sources. I have a 98 GS300 like you but I do NOT have DRL. Some of my buddies with newer GSes have DRL so I'll verify again with them. The discussions I've read on DRLs all states that they are Highs running at 50%. I'll post back when I have confirmation one way or another. :) As a matter of fact, I did a quick search here on LOC and came up with these: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=2245 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=7724 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=6070 although only one discussion is on the GS. My previous reading was not from LOC but it confirms the same info. I did not even realize the 98 GS had DRLs. I thought they only came on late 99s and beyond.
  23. I got mine on eBay. They usually run $8-$10 for a pair after the shipping/handling is added. I replaced a bunch of the interior lights with the same M4 bulb. I got a packaged deal from a seller there to save shipping.
