  1. Very nice looking car. I'm with SCdriver. Get a hold of the dealership and tell them that you purchased the car, and would like to know the service history. They should be able to give you a print out of the car's history dating back to when they recieved it first. If they give you a hassle, just have the owner call there and verify that you'll be contacting them for the info. I'm sure they will want to fax it to you, since that would be the easiest. Other than that, nice buy. It's a little more than what I would've payed for the car, but I'm more of a 300 fan, than the 400. If you're into the 400's I think it's a good buy. Congratulations and welcome to the SC Family!
  2. Most people that I deal with either opt to go with Katzkin, or aftermarket seats. Katzkin
  3. Downshifts, instead of using the brakes to decelerate.
  4. Don't buy tires from Sears, or NTB. I worked there for 2 years and boycott them. They don't follow through with Road Hazard covereage, and will destroy your rims and not do anything about it. Not to mention purposely charging you for things you don't nessesarily need to meet numbers for the day. If it's $230 at Sears, it would be $170 on-line. Sears is in a lot of financial trouble right now, and are on the brink of losing their Auto Centers and Nation Tire and Battery stores because of on-line sales. They haven't and will never beat on-line prices because they are too busy paying out 1,000 dollars an oil change for destroying people's engines due to the irresponsibility and poor quality of employees. That is why they stopped doing them to begin with. As for my 245/45's They were in MY opinion, great. I demand a tire that allows me to have more road feel. If I wanted to "float" down the road, I wouldn't own a "Sport Coupe."
  5. I had 245/45's on mine and loved them. Only problem was they would tend to pull you around the road because 245 is a bit wide for most grooves in the road. This is something that I put together a while ago, with some general tire knowledge in it. You might want to give that a good once over. It explains tire speed rating. A good place to buy tires is: Discount Tire Direct Tire Rack
  6. I've never seen an SC with daytime running lights.
  7. Okay, so the weight of the wheels has an effect on comfort which makes sense, since it takes weight control for the suspension to control how the wheel reacts to the road, but that still proves that you could possibly have a better quality ride with 18's, 19's or 20's than you could with the factory setup. Taking suspension components into account, weight of wheels, and more shock distribution due to a larger sidewall, you could "possibly" have a better ride.
  8. He gets upset if you mention aftermarket equipment? I'll give you that the Lexus OEM stuff isn't bad, but it is far from the best.
  9. I don't know if the SC4's are the same as the 3's, but if they are, make sure the ball joints aren't going bad. I know on the 3's you have to buy the lower control arm to get the ball joint, which was an ungodly price from a dealer.
  10. Wheel size makes almost zero difference in ride quality. It's stiffness of sidewall, rubber compound, and tire size. that make it up. If you think about it. A rim is a rim.. It's a big round piece of metal. No matter how you slice it, it's still just a big round piece of metal 18" big, or 50" big. The thing is, usually with bigger rims, you get a smaller profile tire (sidewall). And tires with smaller sidewalls are usually categorized as a "ultra-performance" and only come in very aggressive sizes. If you went with an H, or a V speed rated tire, with a bigger sidewall, your car would ride much better, but as stated before, you are going to lose some performance because of give in the sidewall. And yes, air pressure can make a huge difference. Your tires should be inflated to anywhere between 29-32 lbs of air. Depending on preference. Anything other than that will promote premature where in the tread and or shoulder of the tires.
  11. I'm Rick James Biitch That was a hillarious episode (If you're talking about Chappelle show)
  12. The stock ones? ...If you're talking about bulbs, I personally wouldn't do anything less than some form of an HID conversion at the very least. 9005/9006 HID *look* bulbs just don't cut it in my opinion. Low quality, low illumination, low reliability. A true HID setup would be far better, as long as you don't try and go with anything above a 6000K bulb. Of course, this is my opinion. You may want some ultra-glare uber purple/blue light of Doom. 4100K Looks just fine to me.
  13. The biggest that I've seen in the back is 6 1/2" Mid-basses. Actually Luthor has 6 1/2's if I remember correctly.
  14. AJ.. You don't have to candy coat it for us.. We're all big boys.. Just admit that you're the highest bidder, and we can go about our business.. There's no shame in a gold hood prop. No shame at all... ;)
  15. So, all-in-all it's a toss up? Less dust - harder to clean, or more dust easier to get rid of. That makes sense. Thanks, SK I appreciate the responses. You learn something new everyday ;)
  16. It's a extremely well priced turbo kit. It's a basic kit for a low boost setup, that can be easily converted to run more boost. Basically, it's an entry level turbo kit for the MKIV/SC300/GS300 2J motors. Here is a link to the kit, so you can take a look.
  17. I really do agree also. The E-Manage is far superior. The S-AFC is just really 'iffy' if you ask me. I had one in my Eclipse, and it was like riding with in the car with a blind person. It never knows what the hell is going on. I never felt like it was really doing anything, and I really felt it was innacurate as hell. If you really want to get some power. E-Manage, BFI, and free up the stock exhaust system. Not to mention a extremely thorough tune up would probably net you quite a bit of HP.
  18. Maybe they're mounted in the Head Rests? :D
  19. I will admit in my own opinion, that car is hideous. I wouldn't be caught dead in something like that, but to each his own. I'm sure there's a lot of time and money in that car.
  20. Since this seems like a good time to ask. Do different brake materials change the difficulty of cleaning wheels? Or is it pretty much the same with semi-metallic, , Full metal, and Carbon?
  21. You know, I suppose you're right. I have some Eagle stuff that I've used a few times, and it does smell pretty harsh. I have read the label, and saw the warning. I guess I never assumed that it was actually an acid, but to clean brake dust and such off a wheel I suppose it would have to be extremely harsh.
  22. I really didn't think wheel cleaner would be that harsh, but I'm sure you're right.. I've rarely used it. So no to wheel cleaner! ;)
  23. lol This was just posted here. And yeah, that car is pretty wild.
  24. I would say that the lenses will fit on any year, because it isn't a part listed in the late model conversion. As for taking one apart, I really don't know. I've never done it.
  25. Hard stops, I would say so.. Since it would just be heat from the Caliper. Wheel cleaner, more than likely, since most are pretty mild. Brake clean on the other hand, will probably eat them away.
