  1. Happy Thanksgiving! Have a safe, fun, and extremely filling day ;)
  2. Katzkin makes awesome interior kits. I've always wanted to use Katzkin in one of my cars, but never got that serious about interiors. They offer extremely high quality material, and pretty reasonable on prices. The 1,100 sounds about right, they're not the cheapest thing in the world, but that 1,150 includes: The front seats, rear seats, head rests, and center console. If you did it yourself, the kit alone would cost about $699-799 depending on options you chose and material (price pulled from their webpage) And the do-it yourself install kit is $99 bucks. So it all depends on how inclined you are to do it yourself if you want to save yourself $450-500 bucks.
  3. Considering that fuel light comes on from the fuel level sending unit in the tank, you would think that it would be reporting a false fuel level. The Fuel gauge sending unit is part number #8332080210 And costs about $125 bucks. If the problem lies within the actual gauge, that's #8324324050 and will cost about $230 dollars. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
  4. I'll second that AWJ. Intrax aren't a very high quality spring. I would suggest Eibach/KYB AGX setup. I've used it on 2 cars and loved it. If you're someone that's worried about ride quality the AGX's are stiffer than stock on their lowest setting, just to warn you. And H&R do make a GREAT spring. I've seen many, many sets of theirs on cars and have had zero complaints. As for full coilover systems, Tein is the best IMO. I don't think in the asian market there is a coilover to compete with them.
  5. There is a major difference between tires and runflats. Runflats are made of extremely hard rubber, with massivly reinforced sidewalls. The sidewalls themselves have to hold the weight of the car when air can't. That creates an extremely hard ride. I would get used to the noise, you're going to get that from any ultra high performance tire, it's just the way tread is designed. The noisiest tires are high life tires, like a 100,000 tread wear warranty, and BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's. Or any other tire like the BF's. There are just noisy tires out there, the quieter tires are usually for small sedans. Anything considered a "performance" tire is going to make some noise on the road.
  6. Well last night before I read this I was buying some parts for another car we're working on, and they had Wix filters there, so I just about one to try it out. After reading the link, I'm glad I did. I almost bought am Amsoil filter, but they didn't have the right one in stock. So I guess I'll never buy a Fram again If I had to use a Fram in some weird case, I would probably just use a block off plate on the Oil block so the dirty oil just goes straight into the pan and just save myself 3 bucks.
  7. The most I've ever seen is 8 exhaust tips, the funniest looking was 6 on a Z32 300ZX. It was in a '96 issue of Lowrider, so you can imagine what the car looked like. But it actually had 6 2" exhaust tips sticking out the back about 4" past the bumper, 3 on each side.
  8. Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, this is to follow along with Wick's comment. You know, I want to know your guy's opinions on oil filter and changing. I change my filter every oil change, but know some people that change theirs every other oil change. They empty the filter and use the same one. Their reasoning is, the filter has already caught particles and those make the holes in the filter smaller, so it can now catch smaller particles. <_< It does sound reasonable, but I don't know if it's really realistic. I haven't done studies on oil and filters, so I don't know. I think K&N oil filters actually suggest doing it this way. I've always used Fram. I've tried Mobil 1 filters and I saw no difference in oil pressure, or temperature. Which to me is what matters. All oil filters catch metal and other debree. That's their job, so how different are different oil filters, really?
  9. That's pretty much what it comes down to for subtle kits. I have quite a few links to kits that are from japanese companies, but would be quite a long process to get, unless I can wheel and deal or get in touch with a friend of mine in Japan, he could help me out in getting in contact with dealers there. If you want some pics of those Wick, I can get those to you. I'm still trying to find out if Hippo Sleek makes a kit for the JZ, but I've had no luck so far. But Target, URAS, Vertex, Mythos, Signature, Wald, Autocoutour, Elite are just a few of the guys that make kits for the JZ. They have a much larger selection for kits there. On a side note, I also found a 3 gauge dash pod for the JZZ, not sure where it mounts I couldn't find a picture of the actual pod, but Checker makes it, only 87 bucks. Here's a link to pics of other pods like it.. Checker Dash 3 gauge pod = http://home.catv.ne.jp/dd/checker/overseas...dthreepanel.jpg It's their Mud class, or Mud brand. Something along those lines..
  10. I second that, don't have the runflats. The ride quality is horrible, they are like driving on solid blocks of aluminum. Get some good radials or even snow tires, pretend for a few months that you're not Mario Andretti and you'll do fine ;) Trust me. That's actually what we were toying with. A tubular design with a T4, run a side mount I/C since I don't really want to announce to the world that it's more than what it looks like, If I can't get a big enough side mount I would gladly paint a nice FMIC black, or use black mesh to hide it. Maybe just swap over to the GTE head, instead of dropping the entire block in. There honestly is a world of possibilities with the car, I just need to sit down and decide what is going to happen. What setup do you run on yours?
  11. The Exec kit is extremely nice. Very subtle. It almost makes it into a different car, with the form of the front end. Nice call on that AWJ. Veilside Exec kit = http://www.visionperformance.net/Veilside%...C400%20Exec.htm
  12. Pretty boring, just a GTE swap. Thought about doing a 1J swap, but I'm not really the type to get all warm and squishy over JDM stuff, so the GTE will do just fine. Nothing too crazy, a little over BPU by spring. Still toying with the idea of making our own kit though. And using mine as a test vehicle.
  13. Hey, ya can't blame the guy for being protect of his protons, but I'm telling you. My speed particles will crush you guys any day. I've got 8 exhaust tips, that's more than enough flow for speed particles!
  14. blah blah boost, blah blah turbo.. Rub it in why don't ya?! This winter my toy gets upgraded ;)
  15. There's a few suble ones.. JIC kit = http://www.importfan.com/product.asp?0=0&1=0&3=5151 BN Sports kit = http://www.importfan.com/product.asp?0=0&1=0&3=4671 There's a few more, those seem to be the more subtle ones. If you want more, just ask.
  16. Before you buy "hyper white" bulbs, read this.. http://www.clearcorners.com/services/ Just extremely informative about the different types of headlights out there, and to give you a heads up before purchasing and installing such bulbs.
  17. All season tires aren't designed for winter. They are designed for states where rain doubles in "winter" months, not actual snow. If you'll notice most all season tire commercials have the car driving on a road where there's snow everywhere except on the road. Snow tires are designed for the exit of snow from the tread pattern, and can handle snow being packed into them. They are also soft, and can give to packed down snow patterns on a road. If you lived in a state where there was snow, but it didn't stick to the roads you would be alright with all season tires, if you have salt trucks there (which I know you do) all season tires aren't going to do anything for you. With that said, I haven't driven mine in the snow so I honestly can't tell you. But, I drove a 300ZX TT for a few weeks in the snow, and with snow tires on it and weight in the back the car was fine. You can't drive 40 mph, but you shouldn't anyways. as for performance between the 400 and 300, I've never driven a 400, I couldn't tell you.
  18. Do you feel the vibration in your seat? Or from the steering wheel?
  19. If you had fresh tires designed for winter weather, some weight in the trunk, go slow enough, and have basic knowledge of car physics, you should do alright.
  20. It wouldn't be a forum if there weren't problems, so I'm not even worried about it. Thanks for the update though AWJ, always good to have staff that keep the users informed, and aware. Good luck with the problem solving guys.
  21. That's what I thought. Most everyone that I've seen has updated to 97+ because it just flat out looks better. Alright, thanks for the info, and confirming what I thought.
  22. I noticed some body kits are 97+ or 92-96. I'm curious as to what the differences are between the two. I know the headlights are different, but is the size different? I thought the inner housing and glass were different. And I know the tailights are different. but again, I thought it was only design and not fitment. Has anyone actually converted over to 97+ stuff? Other than the Headlights, what else would make a 97+ front end not fit on a 93
