  1. What I meant was that YOU were racing the Audi's and such in your Lexus....I can only imagine how hard you drive down there in socal. And really, I hope you know I AM ONLY KIDDING! Let us know how it turns out, the vent noise thing....dang Lexus'. j.
  2. It's simply falling apart. You guys are just too rough on your cars! Quit racing the Audi's and Infinity's, ok? But seriously Trina, that sounds like a tough one. Unless you are adept at taking dashboard apart, I don't know what else to do beside take it in to the dealer :(
  3. Well, pretty much ANY car without gutters on the roof (which I believe is EVERY car built like for the past 20 years?) will drip a little water in if there's enough near the edge of the door. Our IS does it, my Subaru does it too. I always just take a quick spin around the block after a wash before drying with a chamois. Helps for the most part. I don't think there's anything wrong with your car. Kind of a pain though. As long as when you door is closed no water is coming in, then I think what you describe is normal.
  4. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...p;page_number=5 An interesting read on luxury AWD sedans. It was from 06, for what it's worth. Might help one to make a tough decision ;)
  5. Hello People! Just wanted to wish everyone out there in Lexus-land a very Merry Christmas!!! Safe trouble-free motoring to all!!! <_< :P :D
  6. I know a number of Subaru drivers that might take issue with that. I do have anecdotal evidence that also would state otherwise, as a good friend with some aggresive Pirelli all season tires on his A4 had more issues on a ski trip up to Canada than I did in my Subaru Legacy with Bridgestone RE92's. I admit he had much better tires than I, but my car had a much better feel, less slip, etc. for whatever that is worth...
  7. I can't resist....don't turn and don't stop? ;) Seriously...this sounds quite odd. What are the settings on your climate control? If you have any issues whatsoever...just take it back to the dealer!!!
  8. Even much less damage is difficult to make look as good as new. And for sure, the car will never be worth as much as before even with the best body shops. You trade it in and see what they'll give you for it after it's "supposedly" fixed...guys that know cars will know. So it may as well be a total. More importantly, glad you are ok...
  9. Perhaps this has eluded Lexus in it's "pusuit of perfection"? Several other cars with tire pressure monitoring systems tell you which tire is low. It only makes sense. Looked all over the manual. I must just be missing it, right? Or do I really have to check every single tire?
  10. Yeah...well upon further review, my wife tells me that this HAS happened to her with the IS. She just pulled over, turned the car off, started it, and it was fixed. Yeah, the way you fix lots of stuff on a computer...reboot. She didn't tell me when it happened. But it's never happened since. Go figure. Should have gotten that Subaru Legacy GT like I told her ;)
  11. Nope, it wasnt the Toyota wrench. In fact, we priced it online for something like $38. If you can find a 70 mm one at the local auto store it will suffice just fine. Like for 6 bucks or less!!!
  12. FWIW, I had reflective metallic tint on my Subaru wagon. The antenna was on the side rear window. No effect whatsoever.
  13. Go 20 all around. 5 on the rears, in my opinion, just doesn't look right....symmerty...I guess. We have 18 all around on a Breakwater blue IS....looks great!
  14. FWIW, I did my first one on our IS 250 last weekend. I used the same directions as forementioned. Just slightly different on the 250...easy access door to open. The wrench is a 70mm, which I just so happened to have. I have changed oil on my own cars for years. In my opinion, the oil change on the Lexus is EASIER than any car I've owned. Piece of cake. I can see why some dealers charge 90 bucks for it ;)
  15. Yeah, but Andy Roddick got to make the commercial first!!! ;) IIRC tho...Andy was driving an IS 350 in the commercial.
  16. Sounds very odd. Keep close tract of issues. Ours has been fine for over a year. Good luck and let us know what happens.
  17. numerous threads on doing it yourself...if it's above you, you must pay the piper. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TAKE IT TO JIFFY LUBE, ETC.!!! My .02.
  18. Ah, the perils of driving a car a step up from yours. Truth is , EVERYTHING is relative. Keep that in mind. No matter what you drive, (I suppose with a few exceptions) there is something faster, better handling, etc. Just depends on how much you want to spend. Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have....plagerized, but true.
  19. Wait a minute...he does still have that "other" car, does he not? If so, I for one shall not feel too sorry for him. You drive the IS on Tuesday's and Thursday's. The Prius on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Call me the negotiator....:)
  20. ^ what he said +1000. Not a smart thing to do. Call a tuning shop and they'd probably tell you the same thing. What is your motivation?
  21. So I'm driving north on I405 in Bellevue, Wa. and I see this new IS behind me. No plates on it yet. It's silver, and has maybe 19 or 20" wheels. Awesome looking car. As it passes me, I see on the back that instead of the IS 350 or 250 badge, it says SI 20. I do a double, then triple take. SI 20. What is it? Has anyone seen or heard of this model? In every way, it looks like the IS....except for this. Well, it could look different under the hood too!
  22. We have the Breakwater blue with the light grey. It's nice. Plus we have 18% tint all around. My wife thought it would be too dark, but the light interior actually makes it seem just fine. And it looks great! Good luck!
  23. Reminds me of the story...if a tree falls in the forest...I digress. Well they are on in our car. I remember the first time I noticed it..."WOW, I can see my feet! How cool is that!" So I'm thinking you can classify this as "normal".
  24. I just recently notice a odd similar noise in my wife's IS. She says she doesn't hear it and it's really starting to drive me crazy. It's hard to describe...let us know if you figure out what it is.
  25. I suggest you go ahead and do it! We've got ours at 18% all the way around. Breakwater blue with light, off white interior. We love it!
