  1. I think includes cars made in Japan & U.S.A. and I don't think its the pedal, sounds like computer design problem. I don't think they want to admit to this but there is alot of papers written on the web which points to this.
  2. Bull, 2 million cars in Europe, now China its a design problem with the car, and Lexus is included.
  3. It already has, my 2007 IS 250 was recalled.
  4. I had a 2007 is250 with the same problem the tires would wear out on the inside, the dealer pointed this out and they we not very helpful. They told me that is way the car is. I went through 3 sets of tires, @ 41,000 and I turned the car in after lease. Its a bad design, to make the car handle the set the car up with wheels toed out at the bottom, instead of designing the car to handel correctly. I would call the zone manager and complain they should pay for the tires. BTW when I turned that car in it was the happiest day of my life, too many problems, recall etc. I guess the its still true its made in Japan (Junk).
  5. I have owned many cars, some were pretty bad, but the problem with this one its expensive and I think people have to stop drinking the Kool-aid. I currently own 2008 ponitac g6 25,000 miles I have not had to bring it back to dealer at all. The tires are not wearing on the inside, its a low cost car but you know what it more advanced than the lexus, and the engine isnt a rattle trap. I also own 2006 jeep liberty, again not an expensive car but you know what its better than the lexus. BTW I just received 3 recall notices on the lexus its in the shop again, fuel rail, rear brakes, and power steering. You bet the next is going to be a domestic.
  6. You are correct this car is a real lemon, I have 07 is250 awd 31,000 miles third set of tires. They wear out on the inside, and the dealer tries to tell you it a performance car bull. This car is poorly designed, thats why there are so many complaints on this site, brakes, tires, transmission, rattles. My newest problem is that when its cold outside below freezing the engine sounds like its going to blow up, tappit noise it really bad. Thankfully its a lease and there is not much more to go, just got my recall notice, I would never buy a foriegn car again.
  7. Only one way buddy from the nav screen it points to your feet buy it comes out the center ducks anyway. I thought the picture on the screen which shows the air going to your feet was suppose to go to your feet. Is this a special "perfection" feature of this car? It probably another design flaw. Sorry pal I don't think I can help you if you haven't read the manual. Guess what the owners manual says if you want heat at your feet press the button with picture of heat going to your feet. It does not say anything about air coming through the center vents. This the first car I ever had that did this and I have owned many cars. BTW the mechanic at the Lexus dealer said all of the IS's have the same problem. His suggestion was to shut the vents, again another problem they can't solve.
  8. And at 18K uneven tire wear is first reported to you? Then either something serious just happened to your car or the mechanic rotating your tires doesn't give a crap about what is going on with your car. THAT is the time to look at them to see what's happening, when they are off your car and you can look at them closely. Preventative action. Sorry to rant, but if you kept an eye on things you wouldn't be where you are now. I say move away from NJ. Find someplace where the roads are maintained. In any case, let us know what happens. And I'll be keeping an eye on the dang Dunlops on our IS for sure! You have to joking, very funny. I owned many cars but brother this one has to be the biggest bom. BTW is was a Lexus dealer doing the oil changes.
  9. Although it is strange that the uneven wear did not become evident at the 15,000 mile interval - inside wear is not unusual. It can be caused by wheels needing alignment (as you stated) or it could be from a negative camber setup (as the tech stated), among other causes. I am surprised you have never come across negative camber effects on any of your Corvettes or Porsches, but I've never owned any of those vehicles (wish I had). Many sports cars are setup with negative camber to help negate the effects of body roll. Thus giving a larger tire contact patch while in a hard corner/turn. And since the wheels are tilted in towards the chassis (think of an "A" when looking from behind the car), it is natural that the insides wear faster. Unfortunately I haven't seen the specs of the 250AWD to confirm if this car is set up with negative camber. What is the ball join issue mentioned above? Pick up any Corvette or Porsche owners or shop manual you will see a section on tire wear. They have a picture which shows inside tire wear, its not normal for tires to wear on the inside it points to a problem with aliment or ball joints. These car are designed to be performance cars. I think Lexus is using negative camber to try and enhance to the handling of the car, but its ridiculous to do this on street cars. Why have your customers change tires @ 18,000 what does that say about the kind of car they are building. Why not build a car that has good handling rather align the car in such a way that causes the customer to pay for a set of tires at such a short period of time?
  10. Only one way buddy from the nav screen it points to your feet buy it comes out the center ducks anyway. 11. Yes, I do. And still waiting for Lexus to do something. Like what? What are you trying to get Lexus to do? Maybe fix the car.
  12. I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with their climate control. When using the heater and pointing the air towards your feet, air still comes out of the center air conditioner vents. I know some are is suppose to come out the side vents, but out the center I don't know. I never had a car do this the dealer response was just shut the vents it happens to all IS 250's. I am getting the impression that this car is a lemon. Anyone out have this problem?
  13. Thank you for the information. Do you know if there was a lexus fix released on this problem?
  14. I have had the tires rotated at every oil change 5,000, 10,000 and 15,000. I thought this would give even tire wear, but I guess I was wrong. Anyway my wife uses this car so I just ordered tires for her. Like I said before this not any were a performance car it just a four 4 sporty looking car. The factory should have put better tires on the car, any you are right I will bring this car in to shop to find out whats going on
