  1. Whatever Mr. Football. You just line your IS250 up with a Mazdaspeed3, or a NEON SRT4, or a WRX, all of which are like over 10K less than your IS. You then tell me what fast is. None of those cars can compare, however, with the quality and luxury features of the IS, which has been well documented in these forums. No, the IS 250 simply is not a fast car, and if you want to think it is, knock yourself out.
  2. All I can add is : 1) our IS has 19K on it, and I'm still waiting for the "beast" to appear 2) our IS has not been "broken into" so maybe we should park it outside instead of in the garage? 3) our IS is not fast and never will be, I know better than to say that it is, but I still like it :P
  3. Not to steal your thunder, or willingness to share useful info...I used this link several months back, and it was a great help. I have two oil changes under my belt, and it really is a piece of cake. http://my.is/forums/f139/how-change-oil-350-a-282953/ I'd still like to see your pics though!
  4. HA! Just went out to the garage...gave it a try...how cool is that! Thanks for the tip. Now where is that secret button to give me 150 more hp? Oh, never mind, that's a different thread :P
  5. It is what it is....but you could trade it in for an IS-F....saw my first one on the road this week....that is one manly looking beast! Other than that...just focus inward on you true manly self...that doesn't sound too manly does it :P
  6. WOO HOO! Look at me! Thannks man...meanwhile....just take the car in and tell them about the rattles and the brake dust and the creaky dash AND the CD mysteriously popping out.
  7. It only happens in ours when we catch some air off the top of a hill. Well, when we hit the ground that is....NOT. Of course I would never abuse the IS like that! Really tho...sounds like you got some bugs in that stereo that need purgin! Crazy stuff! Maybe your car doesn't like your taste in music ;)
  8. Good luck with that...they will just refer you to a local mental health professional :)
  9. So I'm NOT crazy! Thanks for the tips! I've been noticing this since we got the car. I thought it was just me...my wife says she doesn't notice it...silly girls!
  10. Says everything I need to know about you pal. I think the joke is on you if that's what you think.
  11. So now you know the difference. It is well documented. Nearly 100 hp will give you that difference, in case you wondered. My daily driver is a Subaru Legacy wagon. Has 170 hp. I've driven a Legacy GT with 250. You wanna talk about a difference! Sometimes I wish I got the GT, but everytime I fill up, I'm glad I can just run the regular. Unfortunately, even the IS 250 takes premium.
  12. Me es totally cornfuesed regarding das thread, merci beaucoup grande!
  13. ^^^^^+1 Are you really thinking of keeping your car for 500K? Somehow I'm doubt it, but if you are....yeah, all the stuff mentioned in the post above....they will wear out/frustrate you much more than the engine/drive train....less than 15K on ours now....
  14. Tip#1....DONT STREET RACE!!!! Tip#2....Especially don't even think of racing a car that is obviously much faster than your car! Tip#3....DONT STREET RACE!!!! Take your car to a track if you really want to drive fast. At least there you'll only hurt yourself. In case you didn't know...the IS250 is probably the slowest car in its class. As has been said a billion time on these threads..."should have gotten the 350 if you wanted a fast car". Finally...DONT STREET RACE!!!!
  15. ^^^+1 I've heard so many stories about gas. As if some of the major brands are going to put inferior gas out there....Barkat speaks the truth!
  16. Repeat after me...the grass is NOT always greener. I just think Trina is higher maintenance than our cars are! JUST KIDDING!!!!
  17. Wow, the timing of this old thread....just looked outside and we have like two inches of snow on the ground!!! Almost April in western Washington state!!! Whodathunkit?
  18. This is totally my opinion, FWIW...higher end cars/performance cars/etc, that COME with painted calipers look great. When I see the red calipers on a Turbo Cayenne S, or even the gold ones on a Subaru STi, yeah, they look great. The brakes are bigger, better, etc. But every time I've seen someone paint calipers, it just looks cheap, wannabe, etc. Keep them clean, maintained well, etc. and they look ok. Having said that...it's YOUR car, and if you think that painting your calipers on you IS will make it look better, go for it!!!
  19. Well here in Washington ALL the roads are perfect! NOT! I imagine they are bad everywhere, which only means you have to really care for your investment. It is true that "performance" cars have soft compound tires that have better grip, thus, they don't last as long. I don't believe the Dunlops that come stock on the IS250AWD fit that bill.
  20. And at 18K uneven tire wear is first reported to you? Then either something serious just happened to your car or the mechanic rotating your tires doesn't give a crap about what is going on with your car. THAT is the time to look at them to see what's happening, when they are off your car and you can look at them closely. Preventative action. Sorry to rant, but if you kept an eye on things you wouldn't be where you are now. I say move away from NJ. Find someplace where the roads are maintained. In any case, let us know what happens. And I'll be keeping an eye on the dang Dunlops on our IS for sure!
  21. The two right rims on our IS had some curb rash. Just got them back from a local shop that specializes in wheel repair. It was kind of spendy...$150/wheel, but they did a great job. Unless you get real close, you can't tell at all they were damaged. Just hate looking at that curb rash on a pretty IS.
  22. We have 18% all the way around on our breakwater blue 07 IS250AWD. I'll try to get a pic up for you...but we really like it. It's not that dark, especially with the lighter, off white interior.
  23. Man, that does seem kind of crappy on the dealers part, but they aren't responsible for road hazard stuff. As for the inside of the tires being worn out...might be kind of late for this. The explanation they gave you is totally lame, " it's a performance car and this is how they set up their cars" ...so the tires wear prematurely on the inside? I don't buy it. I am certain an independent alignment shop will have the correct specs, but make sure they are reputable. Are they so worn that they need replacing already? FWIW, our 07 has about 11K on it, and the tires are wearing very evenly. We also have the Dunlops. I will say, though, that I have rotated them twice already, at 5K and 10K. One advantage of AWD...all the tires are the same size. Good luck, and let us know what happens.
  24. We've had that popping noise in our 07 since we got it. Heard it today, like three times on the 30 minute commute home...."pursuit of perfection" baby!!! :cries:
  25. Why don't you just go to Wal-Mart to have your oil changed too? :chairshot: You guys are crazy to even think of putting 87 octane in your Lexus'. But you know what, why not start by reading your owners manual? It amazes me that someone would even consider putting regular gas in their Lexus. Why did you spend the money for a luxury, performance oriented car, only to try and pinch pennies by putting in fuel that wasn't designed for your engine?
