  1. i dont know bout sentra but ls400 needs red non ethylene glycol based coolant for ur engine (its not a refrigerant for ur AC system), you should search the forum about the flushing procedure for engine cooling system
  2. i change every 3k since my engine is gettin old, i would aslo recommend using 10w-3o oil after ur engine hits 100k
  3. no 300$ is the pump that you have to buy if you want to do it yourself! as to the coolant yeah, you should use only RED coolants, never mix them and if you have green engine coolant you have to flush it and fill the system with RED coolant since green one is not good for 1uzfe
  4. oh and you can buy it with die and sealant, the most expensive part if you want to DIY is the pump, to refill and to vacuum the system (300$) parts might be expensive as well if you will need some, i would recommend you to go to the shop that specializes on Ac and ask them to check your system
  5. yeah, there is a special die they put in the refrigerant and it glows under ultraviolet bulb so you will clearly see the leak. as to r12 replacement, you can get them even on ebay, (this is where i got mine for my 91 legend) just search for r12 replacement.
  6. its a common issue for gen II LS and as far as i know there have been a thread about recall for ECU for gen II cars, this might be the cause in ur case, but most of people with gen II LS here have this problem so dont worry bout it, nothing dangerous, just a lil bit annoyin.
  7. good luck with that, let me know of the result
  8. nice, i wish i had this.:) bootiful car!!! enjoy!!!!
  9. retroffiting means you need to get new fittings for the AC system including new valves, then you have to vacuum it, suck the mineral oil out and put the special oil for r134 and then put r134, but once again, r u sure then ur system has no leaks and that all components are in the working condition? if it leaked in the first place it means that smth was wrong with it. this is why i would recommend the die in the refrigerant. as far as i know to refill the system costs around 60$ for r134 and 100$ for artificail r12, btw r134 will not give ur air as cold as it used to be on r12.
  10. tell me more about the problem, whole cluster has no lights and none of the gauges work or just the speedometer needle is not moving?
  11. dont switch to r134, just get some artificial r12 and you can fill it up urself, but i'm not sure what exactly is wrong with ur system, your compressor might be bad or you might have a leak somewhere, and to find a leak or change a compressor it takes some knowledge and tools. since your AC system didnt work for last 2 years you need to vacuum the system first, then put some refrigerant with sealant to make sure there are not leaks, vacuum it again and put refrigerant with die, at this stage you will also be able to check if your compressor works, if the pressure in the system remains the same for a weak it means there are no leaks and ure good to go, otherwise locating and fixing the leak might be a really expensive exprerience.
  12. you should drive it to todays meet:)
  13. might be all kinds of things, from ECU to old atf, its really hard to pinpoint this kind of tings since there is no actual problem
  14. 97 uses h4 tyope of bulb and its really hard to replace, you have to unscrew the whole headlight assmbly and partially take the whole assembly out and only then you will be able to access it. its a long process and it takes around 20 mins for each side.
  15. yeah, mine does 7.5 ez:) beats maximas and accords thats for sure, all my friends hate me (coz my car is beautiful :D )
  16. might be the battery terminals, i had this once, first stereo was going on and off and then car just died. it turned out to be a loose terminal on the battery.
  17. yeah, DIY, its a pretty ez job and takes less then an hour
  18. its in the trunk , but i'm not sure where exactly in the trunk
  19. try to hit it with big hummer:) it helped in my case.
  20. i tried this, i asked the dealer and i asked couple of shops they all told me that gen III steering wheel WILL NOT fit on the earlier models. and that its not worth the money so i just got a cover with a wooden look:)
  21. nope, they are not. dont bother trying you just gonna waste your $$
  22. compressor oil for r134 and r12 are different. you have to put new oil b4 putting r 134 i think. at least this is what i had to do on my legend. also you have to make sure there is nothing left in the system after vaccoming, if there is some condensation it will freeze and clog the system and you will have to wait till it unfreezes to redo it. its a complicated process. you should go to ur mechanic and complain thats for sure!
  23. it might that the tensioner puts too much tenstion on the belt and one of the bearings is squeaking or just going bad, try to localise where the noise is coming from.
  24. 10x for the part number, my antenna stopped working a year ago and its kinda embarrasing to come out of the ls to pull the antenna out
  25. www.newlexusparts.com or www.irontoad.com for OEM parts. as to the aftermarket parts you should wait since some of our members are brave enuff to try those parts on their cars and then they will tell us results.
