  1. Its probably not a mechanical failure, as the steering system in the car is electric. It could be a motor or sensor failure.
  2. You seem to be only mentioning the damping mode, but have tried putting both the damping mode and vehicle height adjustment on normal?
  3. Those are the 18" wheels on the IS350. http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/detailed_specifications.html
  4. Highest mileage we've seen in the shop was 94,000 miles on an 2006 RX400h.
  5. The mirror glass is replaceable by itself, but its the most expensive part of the assembly. The mirror glass is close to $400. There is only one glass, so memory is not an issue. There is a small electrical connector on the mirror glass for the heating and auto dimming function.
  6. Locking clip (top) 1 2 3 4 5 6 as you look at the connector.
  7. Sorry, can't answer that one as I've never owned a SUV so I've never towed anything.
  8. Hard to tell from the picture but can you confirm there are 6 wires going into the connector. I'm using a wire diagram, and its showing me 6 wires. The wire colors I'm seeing are: LG(light green)-B(black) for terminal 1 B(black)-R(red) for terminal 2 L(blue)-W(white) for terminal 3 V(violet)-R(red) for terminal 4 B(black)-R(red) for terminal 5 G(green)-Y(yellow) for terminal 6 The connector should be two rows of three. Terminals should be as follows: 1 2 3 for the top row with terminal 1 in the top left and 4 5 6 in the second row with 4 starting in the lower left. Forgot to mention, when looking at the connector, the locking tab should be on top.
  9. Curious. Are you saying they turn off the transponder signal? The problem with the Smartkey system is you can't hide it in the car as its always communicating with the car which would allow anyone to get in the car and start it. The only other issue with the Smartkey is rather short lifespan of the battery, so leaving an active Smartkey in the car would drain it much faster.
  10. Lexus does not offer an electronic brake controller, so you would have to go aftermarket if you wanted one. Even though Lexus doesn't offer a controller, they do provide a connector for the controller. The connector is a bit hard to get to. Its hidden in the dashboard. You have to reach up and around under the driver side dashboard to find the connector.
  11. Lexus doesn't offer a remote starter for the GS in the US, except for the new LX570. Would be interesting to know how the aftermarket system would work for the GS. I don't think the push start ignition would be the issue. I think the issue would be the Smartkey system itself.
  12. I have the Nav and the Mark Levinson. How do I get music stored on the Hard drive is my question? The same way you store music on your computer. You rip it from the cd. When you put a music cd in the player, there is an option to rip it to the hard drive. Thats the only way to transfer music to the hard drive. You can't transfer mp3 ow wmv files. It has to be ripped from a music cd.
  13. Lexus does not recommend "special" oil, nor does it recommend synthetic oil. It recommends 0W20 and 5W20 petroleum based oil. Check your owner's manual. This quality brand name petroleum based oil can be purchased at most automotive stores for $3-$4 per quart. Your dealership is trying to make an excessive profit and hoping you will cooperate. It recommends 0W20, or 5W20 if you can't find 0W20. If you use 0W20, it pretty much will be synthetic. You can get 5W20 dino oil, but have not seen nor can I find 0W20 dino oil. Which grade are you using? If you are using 0W20 dino, what brand are you using, because I can't find 0W20 dino oil from Mobil, Valvoline, Pennzoil, or Havoline.
  14. That price seems a bit high. Now the oil Lexus recommends is 0w20 synthetic and the LS460 takes a little over 9 quarts. As reference,, we charge about $6 per quart.
  15. There is no US DVD with European maps, and yes European map DVDs do not work in North American cars. Lexus Europe has a website to order map upgrades, but there is a dislcaimer on there that says European DVDs do not work in North American cars. Supposedly the navigation computers are different, but not totally sure. Btw, have you tried to get any warranty work done on your vehicle? Reason I ask is your warranty only applies in the US. Lexus Europe is under no obligation to repair your vehicle under warranty as spelled out in your warranty booklet.
  16. Unfortunately the European map will not function in a North American vehicle. Supposedly different cpus in the navigation computer. If you try to order a European map disc, there is a disclaimer that says it will not function in North American cars. As far as warranty, its spelled out clearly in you warranty booklet. I suggest you take look at it.
  17. Correct the symbol should be on unless the signal is blocked such as being indoors or something is interfering with the antenna.
  18. The standard size is 17 in, but almost all of them comes with the 18 in option.
  19. Thats a defect in the 2007 ES350 Navigation system. Your dealer will have to order a special navigation DVD for you. Its just a firmware update that will fix the problem.
  20. The 7130 does not support file transfer. Older Blackberries were primarily a business tool and less consumer friendly. I would recommend you check your phones bluetooth profiles. They will generally tell you what bluetooth profiles the phone will support.
  21. The original tires were run flat tires. You may want to consider non run flat tires.
  22. Link please? http://www.lexus.com/models/RX/accessories...t_for_iPod.html For some stupid reason its only showing in the RX accessory web page, but it is available for 2007-2008 GS350/460/450h, ES350, IS250/350/IS F, and RX350/400h.
  23. Gordon (or anyone else)...do you know if there is a fitting kit for a 2000 LS? Yes there is, part number for front fit kit is 04947-50083.
  24. The part you're looking for may be included in the front brake fitting kit. The fitting kit should have 4 anti squeal wire springs and 8 pad support plate springs/clips. The part number for the kit is 04479-50030.
  25. Actually both P1150 and P1155 are for bank 2 sensor 1. P1150 is an air fuel sensor circuit range/performance malfunction. P1155 is an air fuel sensor heater circuit malfunction.
