  1. The tuner and nav player , as you said are in the floor. I'm talking in the quarter panel itself.
  2. Probably because its not safety or recall related. Its just an update that mentions there's a new microphone part.
  3. Not totally sure but I believe the stereo amplifier is located against the quarter panel in the trunk on the passenger side.
  4. Not sure if this would be an issue, but the sc alternator is rated for 100 amps, but the gs is rated 80 amps.
  5. The LS460 only has the XM option and its factory installed only due to the added XM Traffic system.
  6. It could be the microphone in your vehicle. There is a tsb for the microphone due to noise during handsfree calling. Its essentially a new microphone. Have your dealer check tsb EL007-07. It applies to the 2007 RX350/400h.
  7. Actually, you did miss something. There is a trunk light in your car. See page 23 in your owners manual. Its on the right side of the trunk. Flip the switch to ON, and the light will come on when the trunk lid is open. A bit odd thats its on the right side of the trunk, though.
  8. P0161 is a bank 2 sensor 2 circuit failure. You may want to start with that particular oxygen sensor.
  9. Your dealer is correct. No satellite on the 2004, but yes on the 2005. The 2005 shares the SAT button with the AM button. Don't think I've ever seen a SAT button in a 2004. Theres no mention of it or satellite radio in the owners manual for 2004.
  10. You don't need to know the serial number. What you need is the database version number of the disc. You can look at the physical disc to see the version number or you can see on the display. I believe the sequence is menu button then map dvd.
  11. Look inside your glove box. Its behind the cover.
  12. Doesn't sound serious, but there is a bulletin for the early LS460 concerning a front suspension "spring" noise that occurs when driving slow and turning the steering wheel to the left or right lock position. Theres an updated front coil springs. Definately something that would probably involve dropping the car off for the day to do.
  13. Generally, speed sensor faults are due to a bad speed sensor or a broken teeth on the sensor rotor which is part of the drive shaft. With all four showing up, its a possibility ther's a problem with the abs ecu.
  14. What year is your ES300? I'd like to look into that code 36 a little more. It seems to give different results depending on the year. As for the knocking noise, sounds like something else.
  15. The button on the key is not serviceable through the dealer. If you can live without the door lock feature, you can order a normal key through the dealer for less money. If you want the door lock feature, then it gets crazy and confusing. There's no programming involved which is nice, but the ordered key/keys will come with a little electronic chip that gets plugged into the car so the door button works. Now heres the confusing part. The keys with the door lock feature come three ways, a single key, a two key set, or a three key set and they are ridiculous money. You can't order one and then later on, order a second one to go with the first, because each set will come with a different chip. In other words, you can't add new key to your existing one unless by chance you get the same electronic chip twice. I'm referring to the door lock feature only. The ignition won't be problem, because the key will cut the same way.
  16. I would recommend you have your backglass inspected. The backglass is the radio antenna, but there is also an antenna amplifier in the upper right of the glass. If the back glass is not seated properly, the glass may not be fully contacting the amplifier. We've actually seem that happen with a brand new car. Another possibility is the amplifier could be defective or damaged. Damage generally only happens if the backglass is replaced.
  17. The first three are speed sensor circuit faults. The last one seems to be a steering sensor circuit fault.
  18. Heres the page from a 2003 GS owners manual. GS_P267.pdf
  19. The GS300 came with Iridium plugs in 2001. I can't remember the last time Toyota had an I6 engine. I can still remember the early Supras and the Cressida.
  20. DVD MP3s will not work. Only CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW.
  21. Welcome to the forum. Generally the RE040 and RE92 are the more popular tires we see on the IS. True they are on the high performance side, but you may be able to find a decent touring type tire. Even with touring tire and their better all weather capability, you may want to consider getting four snow tires for the winter.
  22. It seems like when they introduce a new car, the cars arrive at all the dealerships, but parts logistics lags behind. When the new IS first came out, seat belts were difficult to get. Its takes awhile before the warehouses even has sufficient inventory. Whats makes even worse is the fact you have a GS450h, a rare car, which probably makes it twice as hard to get parts. I wonder how this compares to other manufacturers, such as German or Korean cars. Domestics are probably not immune either, considering so many parts are outsourced overseas.
  23. Lexus Link is Lexus' term for Onstar. Most likely, the service and controls in your car were removed, per Lexus, as the system was analog based with no upgrade to a digital system.
  24. Thats supposed to be for your Lexus Link.
  25. Obsidian color code is 212. Don't know interior, sry.
