  1. 17" shouldn't be a problem. The standard size for the RX400h is 225/65/SR17, but you rarely ever see them, since they're all ordered with the optional 18" size.
  2. DTC 31 refers to either airbag sensor failure or speed circuit sensor fault (right front sensor).
  3. Try this part number: 51990-60010
  4. $330?!, Thats crazy money. We don't charge that much for the complete smartkeys. Thats kind of high.
  5. The smartkey you buy from Lexus is not preprogrammed, essentially blank. The smartkey you bought, probably from ebay, is programmed for another car. Unfortunately you can not reprogram that preprogrammed smartkey. We see this quite a few times, people go on ebay buying the smartkeys to save some money only to end up paying more in the end. Now since they don't tell us they're buying preprogrammed keys, we attempt to program the smartkey only to have it fail, and we've done quite a few of them. So when they tell you they can't, they're saying they are saying unable, not unwilling. Don't spread your misinterpretation of the facts.
  6. You may need to change your phone number format. Just numbers and no symbols, such as dashes, parentheses, codes ( such as *xx), or even a 1 before the phone numbers.
  7. Lexus does NOT sell radar/jammer detectors. They are illegal in most states. Its obvious its something your dealer is selling on its own.
  8. All replacement locks from Lexus come precoded. Unfortunately, that means they will not match your other lock cylinders. Lexus does not offer the components such as the springs or tumblers to recode a cylinder to match your other locks.
  9. You need to drive the car more often or hook it up to a charger to keep the battery charged. Your "driving" isn't enough to recharge the battery.
  10. There is no update for the Lexus. The Treo 700w is not listed as compatible anyway. Treos have always been hit of miss with their bluetooth. You might try updating the phone software and checking the Palm/Treo forum sites.
  11. Same number for the wire harness. We normally replace the harness as insurance, since we don't want to go back in for a second time.
  12. That would also depend on the provider. The first generation Moto Q, assuming thats what you meant by old, through Verizon and Sprint will not transfer. The old Moto Q through Alltel, might work. In order to transfer contacts, the bluetooth profile OPP is required for the phone. This requirement is actually mentioned in the owners manual.
  13. Iphones do not have the necessary bluetooth profile to transfer phone contacts.
  14. When was the last time you had the front wheel bearings re packed? Your maintenance schedule probably recommends they should be done every 30,000 miles. Generally, we do it with the front brake job. As part of the repacking, we'll replace the front oil seals. The seals and gaskets aren't that expensive. Its mostly labor.
  15. That's good to know, thanks! I'll definitely make mention of those things! The only issue would be the loaner car because I'm 18 and I don't believe I am allowed to take one :P I would argue that. If you are old enough to purchase a LEXUS vehicle, assuming your name is on the registration, then the dealership should be willing to accomodate you with a loaner car. You can serve in the US military and you can vote, you should be able to secure a loaner. Not true. You can't even rent a vehicle from the major rental agencies at 18 years old. Dealership loaners are generally covered under insurance policies that will not provide coverage to people under a certain age, like the major rental agencies.
  16. Three possible outcomes would be the shift solenoid in the valve body, the valve body itself, or the torque converter.
  17. XM install is all done through the trunk. Its one of the easier installs. Does the unit through Sewell come with an antenna? The 2006 models didn't have the sharkfin so an external antenna was part of the kit. The 2006 factory kits are no longer available, but the 2007 kit will work, but a seperate external antenna must be purchased.
  18. The intake should be easy enough to install yourself. I had the airbox out when I installed my HID kit. Installing the pipe itself is straightforward. Look for one of the DIY posts on installing HID and you'll find the airbox removal instructions. I think the warranty should be ok since it's a Lexus approved part. A little explanation about the warranty. If installed before retail delivery, parts are covered for the same time as the new car limited warranty. Installation by Lexus dealer after retail delivery is warrantied for 12 months . Accessories purchased over the counter are also warrantied for only 12 months.
  19. Right bank is passenger side.
  20. Correct. In order to to get a new cluster from the factory, the mileage must be provided so it can be programmed to the cluster.
  21. A good place to start would be if you could pull the diagnostic trouble code thats setting off the light. The code would give people at least a starting reference point.
  22. AM2 is a fuse thats part of your ignition circuit. Not sure about SHORT DCC. There is a short pin in the fuse box, but technically, its not a fuse. Its generally removed during transportation or storage to prevent battry discharge. Removing the short pin cuts power to the dome fuse, ECU-B fuse, and radio no. 1 fuse.
  23. For a 1999, only three.
  24. A few possible answers. Check your glove box. Car can have two sets of tires registered. You may have accidently hit the switch, which means the monitoring system is looking for the second set and not finding it. Other possibilities could be a sensor in one the tires is broken or is missing. Another possibility is a sensor may have been replaced but never registered.
