  1. The 1996 L400 came with a factory 3 button fob.
  2. One in front left, and the other one in rear left.
  3. Lexus wiper blades are generally kind of expensive. If you want a more contemporary design, I recommend either the Michelin or Rain-X brand. I've had all three, and I will say the Bosch was the worst, by far. The Bosch does start streaking in a short period of time.
  4. Give it time. Sometimes it may take days, and it just suddenly lights up.
  5. I suggest you also look at p275. If you're using 6qts for 15k, that comes out to 1qt every 2500miles, which is almost normal. With todays high compression motors, some oil consumption is normal, even on new cars. Generally half a quart to a quart every 3 thousand miles would be normal.
  6. The magazine should eject when you slide open the door.
  7. There are no new units. They are remanufactured units. New ones, if available are in the 4 figure range. If your changer was replaced due to a stuck cd, the most common issue, the whole unit is sent back for repair, including the magazine. Dealership can't break open the unit to retrieve the cds. Its all done at the repair facility and they have strict rules on what unit conditions must be to be accepted. Now you actually don't get your actual unit back. They send a rebuilt one. Your old one gets rebuilt and then put into the supply chain. Now the strange part is when they send the unit, it doesn't come with a magazine. Don't know why, but they never come with one. We usually provide the customer a new one, at no charge to the customer. Like I said in the previous post, generally the magazines that come back are defective and/or damaged and they will labeled as defective or damaged.
  8. Be careful, that 3500lb max is if you have the tow prep package. Without it you're limited to 2000lb.
  9. Its a 2003 GX. We just picked the magazine up over the weekend after it was returned to the dealership from when they fixed it before. It had a disc in it and they had to get it out. So my girlfriend picked it up and put the magazine back in. It seems to still have issues though. I'm pretty sure she put it in right, because i can see the lexus label and the test is facing the right way on the magazine. It should not have any discs in the magazine now since it was put back in. Did you get back the old magazine or a new one? If you got back the old magazine, was there a sticker on it that said not to use? When cd changers are sent back to be repaired, they will take out the cds and send them back to the dealership, who should then mail it to the customer. They generally do NOT send back a magazine, new or old. The only time they send back the old magazine would be if the magazine is damaged and beyond repair, which they label as defective or damaged.
  10. Hows that different than leaving the car running with the keys in the ignition? Have you tried locking the door using the switch on the door itself instead of the remote?
  11. For your 2008 GS350, CD Text will appear if the disc are so encoded. Not all retail cds are encoded unfortunately. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-Text
  12. Personally I would cooperate as long as her policy says they are entitled to cell phone records in the event the car was stolen, but if not, and no court order, I would say no. They work for you. Expect that. Even if a car is left unlocked, that does not imply permission to steal it. I assume your daughter was not involved, but if the insurance company is hinting that she did, or she actually did have a part... either way, why would you help them? This is not legal advice, just my opinion. It goes both ways. If she doesn't want to cooperate, thats her right, but then again, the insurance has the right not to pay either if they suspect fraud.
  13. Here are some pictures from a Japanese brochure showing the interior. Wonder if the style will carry over to the U.S.... http://www.thetorquereport.com/2008/10/all...os_le.html#more
  14. Mass went to a new inspection program on 1 Oct. There have been some bugs and growing pain with the new system.
  15. Your 1998 ES300 requires a key with a transponder chip in order to start the car. Both a master and valet key will have the transponder chips in them, but a master key is required to program any key, because the master key has the master "seed" code. Since you don't have a master key, the dealer has to replace the computer. It wasn't 'til a few years later that they introduced computers that would allow them to be reseeded (reprogrammed). As for the ebay link, the seller has the no transponder chip in red to warn you that the key has no chip, so it means it wont start the car. The key is just to open your doors and trunk.
  16. The sharkfin is for the XM satellite system. Sounds like the OP had Sirius installed. The Sirius install has the antenna installed on the front windshield.
  17. Just go to the dealer. You have to go them to get the amplifier anyway. If your vehicle is under warranty, the repair will be covered. If its not then you may have to pay. A manufacturers technical bulletin, is just that , a technical bulletin. It does not extend your warranty. Just find a good dealership you can work with.
  18. Not necessarily. The crack may have started out small , and unnoticeable, but then grew over time. Were they putting on run flat tires?
  19. Do you have the Mark Levinson system? A bulletin came out in January 2004 for this problem of the radio remaining muted after ending a bluetooth call. It requires the replacing of the ML amplifier.
  20. Don't think that feature is built into the device. According to FAQ on the Lexus website, phone number transfer is not possible. http://lexusbluetooth.letstalk.com/brands/.../447_03Navi.pdf According to Verizon's website, the device only features bluetooth profiles for handsfree, A2DP (stereo bluetooth), and headsets. Click on the features tab. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/c...tedPhoneId=3765
