sorry kenny but i think mnarch i right as far as the conversion is concerned because no matter what they say you just cant get all of the 134 out of the system which is why down the road other parts of the system go bad some people get lucky and those that keep he car long enough dont i would find a shop that will recharge the r12 and do the electronic leak detection test to find the leak and then have the repairs done

by the way i picked up the swirl remover,leather conditioner and cleaner,car wash from the zaino site that i think you recommended plus i got the meguires polish and wax that comes with the 3 step from autozone wha else do you thin i need? thanks for all of your help

thanks SW03es i have been reading lots of info on detailingthat you guys have posted before and its reallt informative and now that i think back my paint problems began about a year ago when i applied that really heavy turtle wax compound on my car afterwards it looked like it took the shine rigt out of my paint afterwardsi would wash an wax it myself but not as good as you guys do and it would lst for a little while(couple of weeks)then the shine would be gone again. now i know why and im not trying to make those same mistakes. when i used to spend hours cleaning my car i thouht i was doing something now im back to step one

sha4000...Since I'm not a paint and body person, I would definitely have to defer to the pictures you saw on autopia that indicate that the pc can revitalize paint that has "oxidized" and say it IS possible if they say it is. In my case, the dealer repainted one of my GM cars TWICE at no cost to me because the finish went bad. So, I wasn't complaining. There was no discussion by the dealer of refinishing the vehicle using a pc or similar device. ← i didnt think that you were complaining its just that i was thinking of buying a pc this black is pretty at times and it looks a mess at others and i generally dont trust people to do what they say that theyre going to do until they actually show and prove. my old 91ls was pearl white and was real easy to kep up with

I just had new ecu (1 free per vehicle lifetime), 2 new keys installed and programmed at my local Lexus dealership for $850, hope this info helps. ← so you mean i can take my 98ls which has the bad ecu that keeps flashing the code P0715 eery couple of months to any lexus dealer and get a new ecu? i could install it myself and just pay for the keys?

that certainly helps i saw some pictiures on the autopia website where they show you how to use the pc 7424 and there were some before and after pictures of a car whose paint was heavily oxidized but after working on it with the pc the paint was looking realm good i dont know how to get the pictures to place them in this post but your telling me its not possible and they say it is so which is it

In Texas, just about every silver car that I have seen has oxidized paint. Does the Lexus clearcoat solve that problem?? Should one be "nervous" about owning a silver Lexus?? Does it all depend on how the vehicle is cared for?? ← what EXACTLY is oxidized paint? and once a paint becomes oxidized can the shine be recovered? SW03es knows about the issue that i have with my black ls and im still trying to find a reputable detail shop here in the city that will do the the job correctly so i can start to take car of my car myself after te paint is brought back to life( my hood has a light greyish white color forming at the front)

actually i was looking in my manual like i have done on plenty of occasions and i see that they are my park lights its a little slot cut into the low beam housing that takes a 5 watt bulb you turn it on with the first click of the light lever so i guess i was a little confused because i was told that these were drls

my drl are not that bright in the day and i say this because i saw another ls which had some that were almost as bright as some lowbeams my questiom is how can i brighten them up with any of the bulbs that they sell in autozone or pepboys?

now i love that car i would skip the 430 and wait on ne of those until i could afford it looks like it could be related to bmw and i love the 745 after my ls of course

the lowest setting is 1000rpm is there any danger of doing damage in that range? ive used orbital buffers before is it that much more difficult? ill definitely find a friend with a POS car

thats a good look i guess ill put it up until i can learn to use it properly is that something that you learn to use by trial and error or is there some kind of class the reason that i ask is because i trained to become an auto mechanic (main reason being all of the money ive spent over the years taking my vehicles to shops) and i hate to pay for something that i can do myself i also have plans to start a detailing business once i move down to georgia thats real big business down that way all of this is at least a year away but im preparing myself now. all these years i thought i was doing something when i was washing and waxingb my cars but after ive read through your posts i was probably doing more harm than good

a friend of mine justhooked me up with a brand new vector poisher/sander do you think i can do a good detailing job with this product? i know that all you guys speak very highly of th PC but will this do just as good of a job? the specs are :11 amps,120v-60hz,7" polishing pad,6 speed low 1000-high 3000 if this is good how can i find those pads that will fit it that you talk about in your post?

ok people it looks like my problem is fixed ive been running my a/c with no problems so far next up is a complete engine and tranny flush

anytime i stopped at a light my car would be vibrating real hard the only thing that would slow it down was if i put it in neutral the vibration would shake the whole car i took it to the lexus dealer and they couldnt figure it out so they told that they would hane to diagnose it manually system by system the next day the called and told me that one of the ignition coils was bad it worked out real good for me though because it would have cost me $300 just to diagnose and another $300 to fix it but the guy just charged me for the repair i hope this helps
