  1. Sounds like you may have a shady dealer on your hands. I replaced my ecu and faced no prblems after install. That was back in April and have had no problems since. Good luck to you.
  2. My car was broken into yesterday. They broke the front passenger window. I just called the dealership they want $690 for the glass and labor. I cant believe this is the cost to replace the glass. What will I lose out on by not using oem glass? I have to draw a line in the sand at some point because $700 is just crazy for replacement.
  3. Its normal for the coolant level to rescede in the tank after running the engine on a refill. Stop driving the car and let it just run in your driveway. Again add distilled water and coolant 50/50.
  4. I think youre in need of more coolant. You should be adding 50% toyota coolant and 50% distilled water. If I remeber correctly it should roughly take two gallons.
  5. Is this the first timing belt youve done?Is there cooloant leaking? Did you put in a new thermostat? How much coolant did you add? Might want to consider towing it in to a mechanic.
  6. The seat memory funtion has quit on me. When I bought the car a few months ago it worked fine to the last owners postions. I never set it becasue I was the only one driving the car. Recently had some time on my hands and tried to set it but there is no movement at all. The seat belt adjustment still works which is in the same part of console. I have considered that the changing of the ECU to stop the "dying after interstate drive problem" may have caused this but that doesnt seem likely. This function is not very important to me but if someone has some suggestions on things to look over I would appreciate it. Blake or NC211 have you two ever had a problem with the memory? Hope everyone is having a good summer!
  7. There are spongy but its the stopping power im unimpressed by. Im coming over from a benz which would stop on a dime, which youd have to pick up to help pay for maintence. Recently alomst ran a red light , I STOOD on the brakes and just didnt get what I thought I would from the brakes. I am going to change the brake fluid soon maybe this well help some but I think I need to improve somewhere in the system. I look into the steel lines. Thanks.
  8. hey branshew, be sure to post how those pads go. The one area I m really unhappy with the LS so far is the brakes. I checked the fronts the other day and there was like 80% left on the pad. They just doesnt feel that strong. Did you have Toyota pads on before? Thanks.
  9. I have a 95 as well with 63k on it. I just changed the timing belt and water pump two weeks ago. The belt had plenty of life left on it when I took it off. No visual wear or cracks in the belt at all. The belt looked as if it could go another 60k easy. With that said each belt can be different with the kind of weather it has lived in. I would think you ll be fine extending the change a few thousand miles.
  10. LOL! Jacob I really hope you're kidding.
  11. Type II and Type IV are the same?
  12. I just read through the reapir manual and it calls for 8.8 qts of ATF T-II for a dry fill. It then calls for another 1.9qts for drain and refill. This info is different than some the previous posts .Also was wondering if ATF T-IV will work. I see that on lexls.com he uses type-IV. here is the page from the manual. preparat.pdf
  13. I appreciate your advice monarch. The reason I want to flush everything is to have piece of mind and not have any questions as to where the car stands maintence wise. The car is at 60k and ten years old and looking through the records it doesnt look like anything has been flushed to this point. I have figuered up to this point a flush is due on all the fluids if they havent been done in ten years. Is my assumption wrong that all the fluids should be flushed by now? By the way a friend who is much more mechanicaly inclined will be helping out so I won't be in the dark completly. Thanks again.
  14. Im preparing to do the 90k service and need some help. I have searched the forums for the answer but cant find the answer for all the fluids. How much of each fluid do you need to do a flush (not a drain and refill) on the brakes, coolant, steering and tranny. Its for a 95 LS. Thanks ahead of time!
  15. Honestly I had a nightmare last night that I owned that car. :o LOL
