  1. Thanks for your informative reply: The Lexus dealers are way above Blue Book for pre-owned Lexus in the Nashville area. But non Lexus dealers are always around the Blue Book value. I just didn't know what non having the keyless entry would do to the selling price. Lexus will supply a new ECU for free but we have to pay for installation and new keys.
  2. I have been driving 60K plus miles a year so I bought a 98 LS400 to keep miles off my LS430. My work requirements are changing so my driving is slowing way down. I am going to sell my 98LS-it has 87K miles and is in excellent condition. The only thing wrong with it is when I bought it, it only came with the valet key-so I don't have the use of keyless entry. I can get an ECU unit from Lexus but didn't won't to go to the expense of having it installed since I was selling. I know what Blue Book says-but what will be a fair price without keyless entry feature?
  3. Lexkid, I am proud for you! Get all you can but give some away to those less fortunate along the way!!!!!
  4. Can you tell me the mileage that I need to consider changing the timing belt?
  5. Congratulations on your purchase: I saw a blue LS430 the other day and it was sweet! I have a 02 LS and a 98 LS but my wife likes the SUV, so we went with a Sequoia instead of the RX because of the larger size. If you got the cash buy as many LS's as you want. Just make sure you give some hard earned cash to the less fortunate at times, you will be blessed for it. Once you get about 30K on it and ready to trade it in-let me know and I'll take it off your hands.
  6. I stole a Chevrolet many years ago, but I ended up taking it back to the place I stole it from because it wasn't worth stealing!!!!!
  7. That's a beautiful choice! I purchased an 02 LS430 ultra luxury 8 months ago with 13k on it. I didn't have to pay retail but it was like brand new. I have had 04 Acura and presently also have a 98LS but but the 430 is in a class by itself. I'll never buy new again when there are so many excellent pre-owned on the market!
  8. I had a 04 Acura RL and put 48K on it in 10 months. I traded it for a 02 LS430 with 13K, which stays in the garage until the weekends. I then purchased a 98 LS400 with 72K for work. I enjoyed the RL but it was not as roomy as the LS. The RL will run like a bullet. I have friends who still have Acura Legends and they love them. But I am a LS man from now on.
  9. Melhadri- Thanks for the info. I called Lexus Customer Satisfaction and they verified your information. My Lexus qualifies for a new unit-so I am scheduling an appointment to have it done. Thank you so much! And thank this forum for helping me find people with answers!
  10. Thanks for all the good info. I will contact my nearest dealer. Can I do this long distance if my dealer is to high? Or will they need to see my vehicle?
  11. Mason, Thanks for the reply. I guess then I can call a local parts dept at a lexus store and they can get me a key.
  12. I just purchased a 1998 LS 400 and I love it. The only key that came with the car is the grey (sub key). How can I get a another key made? Can I get a master key with keyless entry? Thanks for anyone's help!
