rmcphearson, The bushings need to be replaced to stop the squeaking, or you can spray WD-40 around the bushings. I have read somewhere on this site that it helped stop the noise. The link below explains how to replace.

sc4sooner, I know the older ES300 models, with the Cd unit in the trunk is a plug & play. Not sure if it will solve the problem with CD's skipping. I use Memorex CD-R and noticed CD's that have a face/cover label work better and skip less.

govindji, For a '92, $8,000 seems a bit high. Before you buy the car, test drive and get the car inspected. Any problems have the dealer pay the cost. Here is a link of other common problems with the Sc.

CaptainSC, This site will help with the removal process (Ls400 & Sc400 are equivalent models). It can be done, but is quite difficult.
