i was wondering if the ls400 mass air sensor will plug up to the sc300 and will i loose bottom end if all my cats r removed its allmotor for now

I just bought a 96 sc300 and I was wondering if I gut my cat, close to the rear of the car will it cause me to have a check engine light?
