    It's not necessarily better. Too much air the tires will wear out in the middle first. Not enough and they'll wear on the sides first. I find 37 F and 39 R to work out quite well. About 2 PSI over the factory recommended pressure is good for extended driving at highway speeds.

    Yes, of course it's something to be considered. I can cook when I want or need to, but I'd expect my spouse to also be able to cook.

    One day there won't be plates, Cars will be chipped and law enforcement will scan your car and retreive the info digitally. Even from a distance. Oh great. I've had two instances over the last few years where I had renewed plates, but the info wasn't showing yet in the computers. Had cops tell me that I had expired plates. Forutunately I had my registration receipts in the car. I hope they would keep the chips updated in a more timely fashion.

    The new IS is amazingly comfy at those high speeds. You reallly don't feel like you're going so fast till you start catching up with traffic or whatever and need to slow down. :D

    I'm pretty sure those tires will be great. When I lived up north good snow tires helped a lot, even when I had a pickup truck.

    Back in the day most speedometers had a top number of 120, but most cars wouldn't do it. That 160 is just a number.

    Good grief. It's L Finesse guys. Why shouldn't a line of cars have some family resemblence? First the GS, then the Is, then the ES and now the LS. If one can't tell the differences though, after at least looking at the cars and watching some drive by, and even driving them, then perhaps one should be driving one of the many lesser automobiles out there and acting so disappointed. :chairshot:

    Sounds like a matter of clearance. I've backed out of a driveway before and the car just pushes snow until the underside just gets lifted on snow till the tires aren't really on the ground anymore.

    It won't be long before used cars have them too. You think govt will install them on used cars too? Doubt that, they never made it mandatory for all old cars to have seatbelts if they have one w/o them. ;) No, but cars that already have black boxes are and will be on the used car market. :D :D

    I sat in two LS460's today and I must say I was totally impressed. I think the interior is just right. They must be doing something right as all the cars there were already sold and it's about 8 weeks wait if you order one.

    I'm getting really prejudiced from hanging around on Lexus boards. Today I was in Huntsville for a Dr. appointment so while I was in town I went over to the west side to see the new LS460. On the way over I kept see sawing in traffic with this new looking BMW 5 series. When I first saw it I had to wonder if he was taking it to the dealer for repairs. Seriously, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the car.

    It's not a good idea. Simply use premium gas and you won't have to worry about any of the problems. This has been concluded here several times before. There are plenty of threads on this topic already.

    Power mode makes the throttle more sensitive/responsive and the transmission will downshift earlier than in normal mode. That's where the performance comes from. Naturally shifting into lower gears sooner and more often is going to cost some gas mileage.
