  1. Yes, that should work for resetting the ECU. Disconnect the Negative (black) cable only. .
  2. It probably just needs balancing. If they were a little out and on the rear, then when they rotated, it would be more noticable with those tires on the front. Usually they balance and rotate at the same time, but maybe they did a poor job on the balancing. I'd have that checked first, before going any deeper. Sometihing else that's easy to check is to make sure the lug nuts are properly torqued. Also check the tire pressures. That's something many people don't do. PS Tires with off center belts will wobble at low speeds too, but that's whole other subject.
  3. We went to Tornoto once. I was impressed how clean it was for a big city, but I wouldn't want to live there. Just don't like wihter that much. I do meet lots of Canadians in Florida though, usually from January till April.
  4. I live in a Red state. Remember? :D :D
  5. Got the correct heat range plugs? Pinging (pre ignition knock) will mostly happen when the engine is under load in a higher gear like going up a slight hill. It would sound like a clatter that you don't normall hear on a level road at normal throttle. The knock sensor causes the ECU to !Removed! timing to prevent knock, but it can only do so much. Could be your ECU got used to a certain quality gas, and if quality declined, then it's not going to adjust right away. You might reset the ECU and let it go to the default settings, and see how tha works first. Personally, I'd run the tank down pretty low and then fill with 91 or 93 octane gas, rather than just change brands.
  6. Thats the sensor that senses whether its dark or light outside? doesnt it also light up? If so, when does it light up? ← No it doesn't light up. No need for it to. It just senses light and gives a signal to the the headlight controller.
  7. I wasn't aware of any hight end areas in New Jersey.
  8. #4. It's a light sensor. Make sure it's clean.
  9. Try resetting your ECU and then drive kinda hard as much as you can for about 200 miles. Also you might try cleaning the MAF sensor. Could be just dirty and not getting a good reading. Us some electrical contact cleaner and be real careful not to break the wire.
  10. I think you can cross reference online, or just get the Toyota part number from your manual. It's the same filter as the Lexus one. I got the cabin air filter from Toyota and I use Toyota oil filters in my IS300.
  11. nah - we managed to sort it out ourselves. and we managed to do it without starting an illegal, offensive war ← That you did, after 80 years, and with a little help from George Mitchell and Bill Clinton.
  12. some of the biggest contributors to the IRA were Americans - clearly the IRA were the acceptable face of terrorism ← ← Right. As I remember one or two of those IRA fugitive guys came over here and was raising money. I thought that was terrible. It appears that was going on for a long time though. Until George Mitchell and Bill Clinton managed to get some sort of settlement during 1998 and 2000.
  13. You need to get the holes retapped so you can thread bolts in again. Might have to go slightly oversized if the holes are totally stripped.
  14. Perhaps the Brits should have formed a coalition.
  15. You can get the battery tested. Could be the alternator isn't charging it. Not sure on your specific car, but the indicator on the dash should read about 13 volte, engine running or not.
  16. It almost always starts out like that. Next thing you know. ... ... .. ......
  17. I'm sure if anyone that read your posts had some info, they would pass it along. Give it a little time, do some networking, sometimes insuance agents and car finance people know about nice privately owned cars for sale. Just what are your price requiremts? On a car that age, mileage, and condition are the primary factors.
  18. Spraying stuff in the intake vents might help temporarily, but the main cause is moldy mildew growth on the evaporator. If that isn't throroughly cleaned, it's just going to keep coming back. There is lots of info at the followint URL. Even a car A/C forum. http://www.ackits.com/ I used their DWD2 Evaporator Core Cleaner and Odor Removal System and it worked great. It's been a year since I used it and still no odor problems. This is a reputable company with good service, etc. http://www.ackits.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dwd2
  19. If I'm reading your directions correctly, I'd suggest you be real careful about driving through any big rain puddles. :D
