  1. I don't think many prospective buyers are going to wade through all of this thread to find out a couple of items. There's this forum, that you could post in, and it might be more readily seen. Pinned: Tells Us About Your Car And Its Mods Or Problems http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=5313
  2. Maybe because you don't have enough posts yet. I sent you an email throught this site. It should have my email addy on it. Then reply and I can send the PDF.
  3. I used Headlight Resurfacer and Protector from http://66.241.223.236/merchant2/merchant.m...gory_Code=Other It's a 2 step process with optional third step. It did a good job on all but the deepest stone chips. There's enough stuff for several cleanings. I've done business with these guys over the last two years and they are reliable. Follow the instuctions carefully.
  4. Send me a PM with an email addy and I can send you the PDF files I have for testing the auto level system, if you wish.
  5. If it's leased, then you can't sell it. I wouldn't know about car payments. I haven't financed a car in over 10 years. From the way all this reads, you have issues with dealers, not us.
  6. The lights aren't goin too move very much anyhow. If you park about 10 feet from a wall, you might see it. That's the distance used for aiming the headlights manually. You'd have to put a mark on the wall and then have someone watch for movement. Check the height of the beams on the wall. Then shut off the car and put something heavy in the trunk or a couple people in the back seat. Then start the car and turn the lights on again. If the level control is working, the light beam shuld adjust to the same place. If it isn't working, the light beams will be higher. Also possible one of the wires from the sensor has a bad connection. As for mileage, I get 19 - 20 MPG on mixed town and highway. 25 -26 MPG on Interstate trips with cruise control. There are some parts places that discount quite a bit compared to dealerships, and some used parts places as well. Some of the maintenance items are available from Toyota much cheaper than from Lexus.
  7. Paint chipping has been an issue for some time now. IS300 boards are full of paint chipping issues. Some people have gone so far as to make the dealer touch up the chips, and install some form of paint guard at cost. Some say that the paint formula for some colors was changed a few years ago due to some sort of regulatory thing, so the paint isn't as tough as it used to be. Who knows? And I'm not ridiculing when I suggest someone would buy your car. If it's that big of a problem for you, that should be a relief. However, solutions to your problems have been offered here and more or less rejected for financial or other reasons. You'll either have to take action at some point or not. That's your choice. However, I do find it somewhat unusual that you can afford a luxo lexus, and a fairly new van, yet cannot afford to protect your investment because Christmas is coming. But, that's your own personal problem, not ours. There is a section here in each car forum to list problems and issues, if that is your intent. This is not intended to be harsh, but just the logical thinking that comes from reading the posts.
  8. I hear they grow some great turnips in Ontario .
  9. You may need to bounce the car some, or drive it. I'm not sure how to reset the warning light right now. I've always been advised not to move the front adjusters. I have a maintenance CD so I'll try and look this up and see what I can find, as time permits.
  10. For sure 42 is way to hight. For some reason some people air up their tires to the max pressure listed on the sidewall. Maybe that's ok for maximum load carrying, but it's surely not for daily driving. 34 local and maybe 36PSI for long trips should be fine.
  11. Sometimes there are master keys on Ebay. I don't know how much the dealer charges to program them though.
  12. Suggest you call them and try to find out what they are and if they are in stock. I've heard some bad stories about long delivery times, etc with lextasy. I don't know of anyone who has installed anything but name brands like Brembo, etc.
  13. No. can you just link to the url where the pics are located?
  14. Welcome. I think that should do it.
  15. Ok now there's something to go on. Remember when I asked about suspension work? This happens quite often when shocks or springs, etc are changed. If you look just in front of the rear beam, to the inside of the left rear wheel, you should see the autolevel link for the rear of the car. This is a two piece flat metal link. The angle between the two pieces should be obtuse, ie not a sharp or 90 degree angle. Here are some pics that should explain. f you lay on your back on the drivers side of the car and stick your head behind the rear tire looking under the car you will get this view. The arrow points to where you adjust the connection to the sensor. Its not hard to do, just park the car in front of a wall, turn your lights on, lay down and move the position of the connection bolt and you will see the lights move just a bit. A small bit of movement on the wall will be a big difference in the way the lights shine out so try small movements. I moved mine, drove up the street then came back moved it a little bit more and finally got it perfect again. Here's the same connection to the sensor from in front of the wheel looking under. Basically you need to get the relationship of the arms to a postion similar to that in the pics, and then your autolevel light should go out.
  16. It's in the tech section here. http://machine.technocraft.com/forums/show...ad.php?t=106666
  17. Since everything is working ok, maybe the warning light just needs to be reset. You could try disconnecting the negative (black) battery termial for about 20 minutes, then recconnect and start the car. Then see if the light goes out.
  18. Come to think about it, someone might be glad to take that Lexus off your hands if the price is right. :)
  19. The more I read this stuff the more I want to get a 400 for a toy. My IS is nice, but I still like them V8's.
  20. why did you have to change them"lots of times". do silverstars blow out alot. i have thought about getting some but if they are junk i dont want to waste time & money. ← I think he was just establishing his knowledge of the bulb type, by his experience.
  21. Just get a half bra to protect the hood until you can get the other done.
  22. Did you do some suspension work lately?
  23. So it is related to the dimmer. That's the rheostat. :D
  24. ← They're probably ok, if they have stuff that really fits the car and don't do a "shade tree" hack job on it. I'd sure check that out too.
