  1. It's just an air filter. But you gotta put a nice smooth intake tube behind it, get rid of thos "quiet" resonator boxes. A TRD drop in filter with a JoeZ intake tube gets a 8 WHP increase on an otherwise stock IS300. Dyno proven by JoeZ hisself. :D
  2. Use flashlight to peek into the collant tank. Give us a holler when you get back and let us know how it worked out.
  3. Yep. Once Bill and the boys figured out how to the the filter out from under the hood on my IS, they rememberd, so they know just what to do every time I pull in. Self trained.
  4. I've tried it in Ohio. I can't see the difference, since super premium is 93 octane in any brands in the areas where I travel. Last year I filled up with the Sunoco 94 in Cleveland, and refilled with the same, half way home. I got my usual 26 MPG traveling all intertate at 70 - 80 MPH on cruise for 675 miles. (except, of course for pit stops) What I really can't undersand it these guys driving around on 89 octane gas, when the car's manual calls for premium. I think that's where some are getting their carbon buildup, knocking, gumming, etc.
  5. BP seems ok. I use it some when traveling if that's what's available where I stop . I mostly use Shell around home or Chevron. Gas is different all over. Some states change to winter forumula. Some have certain additives on account of local pollution laws and weather factors. I think there are like 49 different blends of gas. The big thing for me is price. If I go to Ohio, gas will be 10 cents or more higher than here. Georgia has the lowest prices in the east. I can go from Georgia to Florida, and the price jumps 15 to 20 cents. Local and state taxes, I guess.
  6. Lots people probably not around tonight, off to granmother's for Thanksgiving.
  7. Geesh. It's only an oil change. I use Toyota filters. The hillbilly guy down at Bill's Express lube does my oil changes, has Toyota filters in stock and there's no waiting.
  8. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I have put all screws back on the wheel after all the efforts. Knowing there is nothing special and just like other tires are, I'll be giving it a shot again tomorrow morning. When it comes to cars, i'm completely amateur or newb so to speak. LOL Anyway I'm now more rest assured. =) ← If you have one locking lug on each wheel, always loosen it first and torque it down last. That makes it easier with that silly wrench socket they have for that locking nut.
  9. How much did the dinner cost? When I was in downtown Philadelphia, it was like $8 to $10 per hour on parking lots even on Saturday, and still had to walk a ways to Independence Hall. To top that off, you had to go through a magnetometer to get in, and I didn't want to have my pocket knife confiscates, so I just said to hell with it.
  10. Please double check the coolant level before you warm up the engine. If the axle bearings were gone, I think you would hear a noise.
  11. Maybe it's some gasket sealer or something they used to put on the water pump. Can you check the coolant level? You could try running the engine for awhile, then open the hood and see if there is any smoke or whatever and where it might be coming from. Also check the temperature gauge and see if that's normal. I couldn't really say from here, whether it's ok to drive. Can your sone come and pick you up, just in case?
  12. Need help finding an ARCO station near your home or office? 2004 BP West Coast Products LLC http://www.arcogas.com/locator/
  13. I think it's a BP company on the West cost. Goes by other names elsewhere. Maybe one of those monopoly things. I guess some states have different standards for gas addative, etc. I hear you only get 91 ocatane out there. We get 93 octane premium gas here.
  14. Maybe some oil spilled on the exhaust or somewhere? Are you sure it's coming from under the hood. Does it smell like sulfur or rotten eggs? Can you describe the smell in more detail?
  15. Make sure the car is safely on jack stands. Just give it a couple of good whacks with a soft mallet to break it loose. There's nothing special or anything holding it. Could be just some rust or some compression of metak to metal.
  16. Why does Arco sell you gas if it is bad for your car? ← I dunno from Arco. Do they sell bad gas?
  17. Way back in the olden days cars came with "break in oil" in the engines. It was a rather thin oil and the recommended change was at 500 miles. Back then, engine bulding tolerances and materials weren't up to the standards of today, so that was a way to wear in the parts via some friction. These days, a new vehicle comes with the same type oil that is used for every change. Just go by what your owners' manual recommends and you will be ok.
  18. now thats creative ← "Knocked up". Maybe it will have a little Corolla.
  19. I don't see any disclaimer on my TRD box, instructions, etc. High Performance Air Filter Line http://www.toyotaparts4u.com/trd%20air%20filters.htm
