  1. No, don't put clear paint over them. Sometimes that dissolves the glue on the sticker and causes it to roll up. My stickers have been on for 2 years and still look just fine.
  2. Filters used to be "optional", but it appears all the ductwork was the same. Now they are pretty much standard on lots of cars.
  3. Here's the simple method for adjusing vertical aim of HID lights. 1. Park on a flat level surface and measure the distance from the ground to the center of your headlight (bulb). 2. Make horizontal lines with a magic marker on a garage door or a light colored wall, at the same height from the ground/floor, that you measured in 1. 3. Now draw another line parallel to and 0.8" (20 mm) below the first line. 4. Park the car on a level surface so it is pointing squarely at the wall that you marked and with the headlights 10 feet from the wall. 5. Start the engine, make sure the self leveling cycles, then sitting in the drivers seat see where the lights hit the wall in relation to the lines. 5. Adjust the vertical aim of each light so that the bottom of the light pattern (cutoff) is at the level of the lower line that you marked in 3. If you don't have a wall to mark, you can mark the same distances on a big piece of white cardboard and stand it up 10 feet in front of the lights and adjust to that. If your lights shine below the mark in item 3, then they are too low and they should adjust them for you. The above procedure is from my IS300 service CD, but the measurements should work for any car since the measurements are based on the center height of the lights for the car being adjusted.
  4. There's a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) on one of the ID plates inside the door jamb. Take that weight and subtract the weight of the car and that will give you the capacity that you can carry. Also for high weight and long miles, put about 3 to 4 PSI more than normal air in the tires.
  5. How many gallons did it take to fill up after 200 miles? Not the size of the tank, but the actual gallons to fill.
  6. If the wheel is bent, then you should be able to see that while it's turning on the balance machine. If the tire/wheel is out of round, a good tire shop should have a guage that can measure that and see if it's out of spec. Also maybe, dismount the tires and just spin the wheels on the machine and see if it's the wheels or the tires.
  7. Interesting how they have to keep sweeping up pieces of carbon fiber at the race track.
  8. Those Pontiacs, always the trend setters. :D I think I see some '49 Buick in the roofline as well.
  9. Taurus was fairly radical when it first came out. I remember having some as rentals and lots of people were asking me all about them.
  10. Yeah, I can imagine millions of internet people lining up at a parking lot to write doen VIN numbers. :D
  11. Yes we went to a few. We only had one day to ourselves so we couldn't do that much. Miami was great. And the hotel!! WoW that was a nice hotel. :P ← Lexus drivers deserve nice hotels.
  12. Hi Sharad, My survey is concerning the user satisfaction of navigation systems in general, so if it does not get enough user input, the result would not make sense. That is why I posted the invitation on all possible forums. If you could take a look at the survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=958091273746, you will see that all the survey questions are related to the user satisfaction research and are not offensive in any manner. Neither does this survey have any business interest. So, please allow me to post it in all the possible forums. Thank you very much! Regards, Tracy ← That would constitute SPAM on almost any site you did it on. Many sites would have just banned you without a word. These guys are being pretty accomodating, IMHO.
  13. 15 to 20% off the normal selling price would be about right.
  14. Good grief. Now it's posted on the internet for all to see.
  15. Most dealers around here charge $400 to 500 "document fees". However, if you can negotiate that away from the final sale price, who cares? It's the bottom line that counts, no matter how the dealer wants to list it on the paperwork.
  16. Some guys from MYIS got to do a press test drive of a IS250 and a IS350 in California. Here are the pics. http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/Lex_Dymndz/? Here's their writeup. http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=263130
  17. Maybe the kids need more larnin' and practicin' before they get turned loose on the street. Either that or buy them a couple of beater cars. B)
  18. Crude and complicated Teutonicism vs Japanese refinement. IMHO
  19. They have to add a flexing agent to the paint for parts like that.
  20. Yes, in the Touring and the top of the line models.
  21. not much classier. Infiniti's got an analog clock in some of their cars...:whistles: ← Lots of cars had analog clocks back in the day, but mostly they quit working after a few weeks. :( There have been great advances in car clocks since then. ← It takes too much time to do the work in your brain to figure out what the time is LOL :P ← Do they even teach kids how to tell time these days? :)
