  1. i think for "directionals" they are illegal in most/all states. blue DRL's and headlights are perfectly fine as long as they illuminate the road. ← Not around here. No blue lights at all on the front of any vehicle.
  2. It probably depends on how generous/honest Tirerack is and their relationship with Dunlop, but there should be a maximum radial runout spec. and if your tire is outside that spec, they should replace it. ← hey, thanks for the reply...ill have to dig out the invoice and perhaps e-mail tirerack...these tires are really new, nothing like that should happen so soon...dont you think? i hope they can replace it. ← A good tire store can measure all 4 tires and give you a number in inches or whatever for the runout. That might also confirm the particular tire giving trouble.
  3. hey, i appreciate the help...i might try to do it this weekend...have you ever heard of anything happening like that before in an is300? ← I haven't had it on m 02. You might check the forums at http://my.is/ It's a total IS300 site. In fact I think there's a tutorial there with pics on removing the entire dash. I've had the center part out and it's easy all except the very bottom part. To get that out, you have to take the center console apart, and that's not worth the trouble.
  4. The center head unit, dash vents, etc are fairly easy to take out. Just start by removing the tray at the top, then you can see the screws for the next part, then the next part, etc. Perhaps if you can locate the noise, you can fix it or put some foam padding or whatever it is.

  6. Typical pricing from Edmunds.com Wholesale = $34,676 Private sale = $37,082 Dealer retail = $41,448 With that low mileage, and the LS being a great car, personally I'd keep it and drive it for a long time. ( Or sell it to me for $37,000 :D :D )
  7. Interesting wheel treatment. What's the blue lights in front?
  8. Bring it here, Tex, if it's flame games you want. http://my.is/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=94
  9. Why are you trying to start *BLEEP* over a can of oil?
  10. I find some of your rhetoric somewhat offensive. I've been running Castrol in car and motorcycle engines since over 40 years and changing oil and filter in the cars at 3000 miles and never ever had a problem.
  11. The proof is in the pudding. The true test is to put the competing oils in motors and run them till they break. Hours to breakdown tells more than any other tests. Some folks are Amsoil fans and some are not. What works, at change intervals recommended by the auto manufacturer, is what works. You won't get me to switch oil brand or type,or go to a different change interval by quoting a bunch of controlled lab numbers, or giving me a handful of magic beans.
  12. Most of the time the touchless car wash will take most of the bugs off, if you do it soon after a trip. For stubborn bugs, I use the brush with blue soap and then rinse with the high pressure washer at the do it yourself car wash. You can us a very light coating of PAM cooking spray prior to a trip and the bugs won't stick. It's pretty easy then to wash off the bugs and PAM when you are ready. (Don't use the butter flavor PAM, though or your car will smell like popcorn :D )
  13. Whatever you do, don't try to suck it out. Just get one of those hoses with the accordian plastic pump thingie on it and siphon away.
  14. I get around 19-20 mpg local, with automatic 02, IS in small town. Best mileage on all highway driving has been 25 mpg. Those who live where it snows say the IS is worthless in snow without snow tires. Most snow tire conversions go to the 16" stock wheels to get away from the low profile. Not sure about the fitment of Supra wheels. No major changes 02 to 04. After the 06 IS comes out this fall, the prices on older models should drop anothe notch. Ought to be able to get a 02 automatic for around $18,000 around that time.
  15. You need the kit so you have the ballast to start and run the HID bulbs.
  16. Perhaps you can find a realtor that knows feng shui and what houses would be good.
  17. Buy more groceries and just go to the store once a week. If your wife teaches spelling to republicans, then she really doesn't need a SUV. :D
  18. Any chance the battery wires worked loose?
  19. Just go get yourself a drift car, and stop trying to abuse your Lexus. :chairshot:
  20. Yeah, I remember that. The car had a mind of its own. :D
  21. For 200 miles that's 16.8 MPG, which if it's town driving not too bad.
