  1. papatodd, welcome to the forum my fellow Arizonan. When does it stall? While driving or coming to a stop? Have you read through any of the other threads mentioning stalling or stalls? At the bottom of the page there is a place you can enter your search word to find them. Don't do it on this page, click the back button to view the thread index first. Reading through them may give you an idea of what might be going on with your car.
  2. If you haven't visited lexls.com yet, you're in for a treat. He has a tutorial for just that and others: www.lexls.com
  3. I'm glad that worked for you. Which plastic epoxy did you use? I'm sure many brands will work, but as I read through the forum looking for a solution, it's nice to know which product exactly was used so there's no question of what to get.
  4. Here is one currently available on eBay.... LINK.
  5. Doing an "ipod" search found a thread with a link to THIS on the clublexus forum.
  6. Trust me, I searched here before purchasing. The 95 doesn't use a motor for retraction, it uses a tension spring. I saw THIS thread giving instructions on how to retension the spring but I opted to buy a new one regardless. Here are some pics I took during the process:
  7. Hmmm.... where did you look? I just bought one online (passenger side though) from Carson Toyota, albeit for a 95.LINK I'll post pics later.
  8. You can do it yourself so the cost is zero. With the engine cool.... 1) Remove the tank cap 2) Set heater temp on high (85) 3) Let engine warm up to normal operating temp (to open the thermostat) 4) Rev engine between 2000 and 2500 RPM for 5 minutes (at some point you may see some fluid "blurp" (technical term) out as the air escapes) 5) Turn off engine and let engine cool 6) Add fluid to the tank as coolant is drawn back into radiator (don't let tank get empty) 7) When engine is totally cool, add fluid to full level 8) Replace cap These are the steps to follow after draining and refilling the radiator.
  9. It's behind the glove box. Open it up, there is a piece of the back wall that pulls up. Then you'll be able to see the white(ish) cover to the cabin air filter. Push in the two tabs and pull out. Once the cover is off, push the filter down then pull out. I bought mine on eBay.
  10. Sorry, I didn't notice the instructions weren't for a LS400... This thread has a link to a document that will show you where it is and how to get it off: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=42315 The Air Control Valve located under the power steering pump controls power steering assist. When it goes bad, it causes PS fluid to be drawn into the intake manifold. You can tell when it goes bad if you see blue smoke out the exhaust right after starting the car. It's shouldn't affect idle RPMs. It's shown in this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&p=38812 Not in the highlighted box but to the right.
  11. It's $538 at Carson Toyota : LINK Try cleaning it first. Step by step instructions.
  12. Call up the parts department and see if they have part number 90099-14129, as per: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1991_LEXU...EPGKA_1603.html
  13. I'm not sure but this site says they're 168, at least for a 96 LS400. It didn't show an entry for dome lights on 97 and newer.http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/A...placementGuide/
  14. I found this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=4209 Not sure why it's not working for you. You're not pressing all 4 buttons are you? Just AM and CD? Just did it on mine. Got it out and back in. I guess it is extending all the way up, just not as high as I thought it would compared to the 90 I had. Now I know my cable is fine and all the teeth are good.
  15. Oh, I just replace my power antenna assembly with one I bought of of eBay that came off of a 96. It doesn't seem to extend all the way up either. It could be that the cable is broken inside. I should have taken the time to take a look at it before I installed it. If it is broken, out it will have to come to open it up and see. That's probably what you're going to have to do as well.
  16. It should be the same. Do you hear the motor running when the antenna should be going up or down? If no, first check the 10amp fuse under the hood.
  17. Going to do this Sunday/Monday. I've got the gaskets and I hope all I need. I'm going to try the method Bulls I gives in this tutorial: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=49611 I'll add a throttle body cleaning to the list. I wonder if I'll need injector O-rings and insulators or not? I guess not removing the fuel rail implies no, correct? ADDED: Here is a thread that will make your head swim but definitely worth the read: LINK.
  18. Did you do an "idle" search and read through some of the threads? Here is one thread I found doing so, not sure if it helps but may give you an idea: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...377&hl=idle
  19. Google is your friend. B) http://www.toymods.net/~rod/Technical%20In...0comparison.pdf
  20. This tutorial on Lexls.com goes into more detail than just the coil, but will give you an idea of what's involved to make the decision if you can handle it yourself or not: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/ignition/sparkplugs.html
  21. Carson Toyota: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ind...playCatalogid=0 Brakes > Hydraulic system > Hydraulic system > Overhaul Kit
  22. WOW!! That's cool. Did you notice the "beta" label? I wonder who's running it?? I'm leery of entering my VIN number though.
  23. Most likely a bad battery and/or alternator. Added: Welcome to the forum!!
  24. New gaskets - OK, will do that. Rebuild Kit - Will hold off on the eBay one and get parts locally. It was cheap and I didn't read up on the rebuild information until after I clicked the "Buy it Now" button. Oh well, it didn't break the bank and I may consider selling it here if I decide not to keep it.The current starter is fading fast and isn't going to wait until the eBay one arrives anyway. I believe I just parked the car a final time until I get it out and rebuild it. :( Knock sensors? Will have to read up on that. While I have the coolant drained part way (to remove the rear coolant bridge), I need to replace the thermostat since the car takes a long time to warm up. I believe it's stuck open.
