  1. That one is tough, but in the long run, wise by all your criteria. However I would have opted for used 2 year old car with great mpg....Than you wouldn't have had depreciation. Josh I have wasted thousands on new cars, and hence from now on (started in 2010) I will only buy used. The RX400h that I bought was 1/2 the price of new and it was only 2 years old. I know you have mechanical ability barring your disabilities and at least would be able to call all shots on mechanical things. Ok the old man is finished lecturing, and I am totally excited for your new wheels. Hey remember your incredible road trip in the Dodge.?? Best to you and wife. PS thank you again for your service to our country, God Bless all of our service men and woman.
  2. I believe the tire total circumference would be the key...That can be checked under specs on TireRack.
  3. I wonder if the shift lockout solenoid is acting up....That is the only thing I can think of in that area.
  4. Paul do you remember which Bridgestones they were...I was seriously looking at the Ecopia...But in the past I too noticed that This brand tended to be noisy when worn....
  5. Lets hope the reliability carries over from Lexus....The BMW's are an absolute nightmare to work on. No simple replacement of buried engine parts.
  6. that is fantastic on your tranny, mine failed at 100k miles....I would suspect a lot of highway miles on your car, which is probably the best of all scenarios for transmission.
  7. I would think the dealer would jump on that as they could market that as an upgrade on another vehicle. The bigger the wheel, the stiffer the sidewall construction on the tire, which equals worst ride.
  8. that is fantastic, so how much do they cost?
  9. That was an excellent post, welcome aboard, and great shots...That solenoid even if it measures properly could still hang up once in a while from wear....Good luck
  10. It would look best in my driveway....
  11. I would be surprised if it were a differential. I would suspect driveshaft support bearing plastic covers under the car making the hum noise.
  12. Don't know about Maseace, but I am looking for even longer tire life. The Parada's tire wear was below 500 however the Bridgestone were like over 620....Maybe a few more miles...However the Parada's are exceptional for traction and reasonably quiet.
  13. what about the Bridgestone Ecopia's Any feed back on them, I too am at 40k on my Parada's
  14. don't forget the Toyota independents and dealership
  15. Two things, sometimes graphite lock powder works wonders. The other issue is try to keep number of keys on key chain to minimum. Warranty on parts is generally 6 months to a year.
  16. Absolutely stay, and as one veteran to another thank you for your service. Hey nice wheels you got....I too am with you, cars as a tool are more valuable than tooling on them.
  17. We march through time but there will always be nations disputing their rights.
  18. Just reviving this posting, In light of what the veteran has done to protect our Constitution, our way of life, and provided our Freedom thank you all fellow Veterans....
  19. Is the seat belt warning lamp on.....
  20. You may have a air conditioning compressor clutch going bad. But Maybe the fluid in the power steering unit needs replacing. The pump may be freezing up.
  21. I would check one other thing, maybe the fresh air filter is not in place and debris (leaves etc) got down in the motor housing.
  22. yup, but you have learned responsibility for that vehicle that you drive. We are a nation of people that don't want responsibility
  23. Scary thing is our big brother will jump on it, give them a billion dollar grant and require it on all vehicles. Personally TPMS is great for those that don't take care of their car, or notice low tires, but is a big pain in the u know what when they act up.
  24. Do you wash your engine compartment? If so the moisture can cause corrosion and failures. Also I cant over emphasize the use of dielectric grease between the coil and plug. This prevents moisture corrosion between the spring contact and plug.
  25. I am silver, but my favorite is blue or Yellow (wife hates yellow) Maybe camel colors would fit my redneck, right wing, Christian flavor.
