  1. So should I remove rear seat and check for corrosion in the battery tray?
  2. That is weird, was that car a flood car? I have heard of no one getting water or corrosion in that area.
  3. I haven't seen any post on anybody messing with the batteries. Keep us posted...
  4. Funny, I went to a Veterans day celebration at the Lodi, CA American Legion hall....It was truly a fantastic experience. The towns people introduced each and every veteran war (World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf Wars, and Global Wars including Afghanistan, Irag, etc.) Let me tell you it was fantastic meeting these gentlemen and women. The man in front of me was a B17 pilot which I know from history was a very high casualty mission. He was from the greatest generation of our country's past. God Bless these veterans that gave us the ability to experience the freedoms that we so take for granted. The Girl Scouts then handed out personal letters to all veterans in the hall. I saw tears from these gentlemen when reading these personal messages from these little girls. I know it is easy to forget the real reason of our holidays, but I personally make every effort to thank and show respect to my fellow veterans 365 days a year. From the greeter at Sams Club whom I know is a ex-marine to those I meet anywhere else. That is what the missing link is to appreciating the sacrifices that our fathers, grandfathers went through as well as the young vet's of today such as Josh whom is on this site and suffers everyday with head trauma from IUD in the latest wars. Please, say a prayer for those that have went beyond, risking, and sometimes not coming back from these wars. God Bless America and the Constitution that they have fought so bravely to support. I am proud to say as the son of a veteran, I stood by my son whom is a veteran today, and was recognized for our service as we shared the stories of these brave men.
  5. Just wanted to wish all of you Veterans a great day. Thank you for your Service.... Myself, United States Navy 1968-1974, 1984-1986.
  6. Maybe somebody will give more, but I thought there was some early suspension issues with the A arms on the front.
  7. Wow, finally upgraded my nav to latest, and am trying the voice commands. Does everybody have problems with recognition.? I Say Lodi and it comes up with weird named cities. I tried voice command to make a phone call and it says POI site. I just don't get it. Maybe it only understands people with accents... I tried command to call Tom and it goes off on some tangent. When You install upgrade is their some training session for voice.?
  8. Yea me too, but I sure don't want to do the timing belt again....
  9. VBdenny you are my hero, I hope many on this site take heed of what wise words you just gave. Cash is king as Dave Ramsey says. You deserve a new car for your years when wrenching on cars is not as enjoyable. Have a great day.
  10. The American dream (for the dealer) lock you in for even more years. Perpetual customer for life. Nope, for now on only used, and depreciated cars for me. Hey Ford is always offering me deals for my 2005 Ford F150 screw cab, of course with me upgrading for the newest and latest. I have learned (only after 60 years) that new is not the best way on your lives finances. Wish I had all of the wasted money that I blew.....But life is good, I have 9 grandbabies, and God loves me.
  11. seems predominately the excess water is blocked sunroof drain holes or the exit holes in the wheel well areas of the cars. Some have used compressed air, and others have found mud buildup in the wheel wells clogging the drain holes from the sunroof. That would be my first attempt at solving the problem.
  12. That is weird, I installed mine last night and all of my addresses were still there. What did they do? You are only supposed to turn car on, remove disk, and install new disk and let it update.
  13. Hey the lower the better, since that is what I will buy for now on. Too much depreciation for cars, I have learned the hard way. However my present RX was around half price after only 3 years. CarMax gave me a better deal than the Lexus Stealership, ($7k cheaper) for same model, with slightly higher mileage. That was after trying to get a trade in value or my old RX and get their price down to a reasonable price. I ended up selling the RX300 for $2.5 k more than what CarMax offered and $4k more than what Lexus offered. The Car was spotless, but high mileage with no issues. So yea, drop your prices, especially when I am ready again.
  14. Idaho isn't bad, just those old farmboys taking a Sunday drive. Los Angeles well it is crazy, and Boston Mass the fruitcakes of the world, especially heading toward the tunnel.
  15. Wow that sounds like oil starvation. I wonder if the oil pump is toast.
  16. I don't like the reason why, I suspect an idler failed or the waterpump failed. Both very highly unlikely. I would replace the idlers, timing belt, and waterpump. As for the condition on the valves was there any piston damage.?
  17. That is too weird, welding? It is an aluminum housing....Sure it wasn't an idler that broke and thrashed some metal debris on water pump?
  18. several people on Club Lexus have done exactly what you want....Check out their forums in the Second Generation RX330/400h.
  19. Here locally about $3.47/gal, but in southern California was $4.47/gal. And Our wonderful Air Resources board wants to add an additional .15 to .75 cents to each gallon...Man I love the way government cant keep a budget.
  20. I would look closely at your ground cables to make sure they are not corroded. Sounds like a bad ground or poor battery connections to me.
  21. Well Glad that you are a informed consumer. These sites educate all of us and we can than spot when we are being stealershipped by the service group.
  22. If the bolt is flush with pan, maybe next time when you take pan off you could file a slot in it and use a screwdriver. Other wise drill a hole thru the bolt and use the appropriate easy out which can be purchased at automotive stores or HF tools. Good luck
  23. Could be the Idle control valve. Maybe a cleaning might fix your problem.
  24. If you hold the gas pedal down does the car stay running.?
