kinda sucks right now cause i have no way of raising my car and testing as i am at the dorms. Ganna need call them and complain, then go check it somewhere else before i go b*itch at the dealer. If i find out that this happened as a result of thier neglect. they were supposed to replaced my spring boot as a diagnosis to a sound that was coming from the suspension. i took it there cuase i dont have time right now to work on it my self. they didnt even do that completly... The service guy i know there is a pretty nice guy actually, so hopefully he takes care of my dis-satisfaction on that matter.

there is a strange sound coming from the exhaust, under and after the engine. I am thinking its the catalytic convertor. This sound as progressed throughout the past couple days getting louder. Its a disgusting exhuast rattle. coupled with this sound there is also some smell comin from around that area, kinda like a faint burn fuel/oil smell. For those of you with this experience, does it sound like a cat ? Im not quite sure but i hope im not in for a huge cost. this is kinda odd because i just got my car back from the dealership to fix some seals. I hope they didnt ***k with anything - neil

Im ganna try this out. one thing though.. since i didnt get that 34r and got the normal 34 and turned the battery around, will it really matter as long as i managed to reach the terminals? I used a custom quick release long gold plated conector which holds the three wires that lead to the + terminal, and the other end which snugs to the positive terminal itself. ive never touched this stuff before thats why i felt a little scared.

im crakin up here. '' lextildeath, dude i glad you love your car n all.... But it wasnt designed to do what your doing to it, and it doesnt wanna do what your doing to it. it cant, it wont. you would get knocked up by any inline 6 any day, hell even the rx330 v6 has you.

hmm... yeah, mine isnt the reveresed ones. its the normal 34 that i placed backwards... but i guess the way ive done it will work. It was quite creative for now i think. Im thinking sooner or later to get those wires chaged, either do it my self or take it to a nice car audio shop. They would be good at that kinda stuff, no?

can someone please tell me why lexus makes the battery wires so short . I replaced my battery today and ended up having to get a longer terminal bracket and re ordering some wires. What a pain. not only that, toyota has to be cool and makes thier + and _ terminals opposite of most battiers. I even hadda have a plastic piece that raises the battery a bit made by optima. Just put the optima yellow top in. took a while but got it to work. For those of you who replaced bateries which had terminals a bit deeper than usual, what did you have to end up doing ?

yeah, im not a big fan of the IS. It feels like a civic wrapped in leather and larger engine. I think they needed a bit more passion in that car. As i said.. i loved the 04, but it was a but too detached for my tastes. I definetely understand that the newer gens are completely different from the older ones. But i also saw so many similarities between the two. Though the New one is amazingly beautiful on the inside, the older ones are great looking too. All three gens have high qualiy materials for which the time no cars could own up to. both have amazing and quiet powertrain(more so the newer ones- which its weight being so much through heavy insulation) . Lexus has a different technique in marketing than say BMW would. Every single one of thier cars have to have balance between speed/luxury/performance. With lexus, they stick to one thing and target people who more so are favored to one over the other. I guess with this technique, its not exactly ganna make car and driver, but it those people who care for one type of a ride over another are gana be happier than hell. not to forget about thier bullet proof reputation.

Getting few things replaced on my 96 so the dealership gave me a loaner. Second day with the car: The transmission problem is quite evident and it definetely needs a different kind of foot pattern which can easily be done. It is annoying as hell though. The car is slow. Increased engine size and HP is probably compensating for the increased weight of the car. i find my 96 much more peppy and fun to drive. Very smooth quiet and relaxing ride. Perhaps i am yet too young to be too detached from the road. i like the feeling sometimes, but also enjoy a little more thrill and feel of the road. The interior is beautiful and made of highest quality materials. i feel no dissapointment in this car at all as i understand who lexus is going after in selling this car. People have the GS if they want all that more power and road feel. One thing i do appreciate my car for more than ever is the integrity. Even after some 8+ years now the car is still looks new, rides like a dream, and i cant say i like the new one a whole lot better than mine. i am a very satisfied Lexus customer. Just thought i'd share my thoughts. ~Neil

the darker colors... especially the black garnet is the softest paint lexus has. SW, detailing your car is a pain, you have to be soooo careful to avoid them !Removed! swirl marks.

Yes, usually that depends on the bank though. If you have access to the internet there then you might be able to set up one of those accounts where you can transfer balances online. All depends on bank and you situation.

Wrx and Es shouldnt even be used in the same sentence. It would spank you silly any day, ANY where. Especially the 2nd GEN

i honestly think that your putting way too much into that car. Ive ready many many various post upon problems youve have with your car. I fel ya man that blowz. If your ready to spend all that one one car thats worth almost nothing i think thats ganna be real conter productive. Buy your self an old prelude or somthing and get rid of this. Youll run strong with not to bad of repairs while you look for something in the future. Besides, didnt you say you werent ganna be around for a while ?

thats bull. cant really compare any of those cars. A 4 cyl camry as way away from a bmw. but true, german cars are only cool for about 5 years. Then they make u bend over for cash
