  1. i always stick to the 2k rule. Gradual and smooth everytime. Sometimes though, when your driving in areas where you keep goin between 3 and 4 gears constantly, over drive off is useful cause it also keeps the tranny from excessive wear I almost never use the OD off, but there are times is conjested traffic where its a good idea. - neil
  2. apples and oranges. Nissans werent made for luxury.
  3. i searched for a while too , didnt come up with anything your not the only one alan
  4. Even in on our cars. the 92-96 If your extreme city driving, IE.. campus Overdrive OFf is the best way. Most people's tranny problems arise first with the Overdrive problem. As long as you arent streching the engine up above 3000 rpms constantly, it doesnt make a difference. IT WILL USE GAS
  5. When i put in my Clifford Security System, I used a battery back up. Love it! i have a little tiny battery which is put in there with a size adapter. haha Running two amps and no problems yet. But i know one of these days ill need to get a nice battery. for the past year though, ive been using this crap cause its what the car came with.
  6. true, I just meant, that in order for all that to happen, you need to have the proper wires first.
  7. dude. Problem = old crappy wires that were made to work with your old lexus poineer speakers. i dont think these other things even apply this scenario.
  8. Smart idea i think, i know plentyful occasions when my glove box was left open.
  9. There are a million various paints ive seen around for this to be done. There are some really good quality ones, and some real cheap ones. Personally, i wouldnt bother with the tail lights. Thier perfect as they are ;)
  10. exactly ... and the factory speakers are thin fragile paper like material. Over powered amp to crappy speakers, is all it comes down to.
  11. So heres a good one? For those of you who have worked on suspension, Why is that the mounts go bad after installing new shocks. Im having the biggest problem with them. they rattle like hell. They were good before, but after the installation and reusing the mounts they are going crazy, Its not anything else i dont think. who gone through this before ?
  12. quite the competition. But they still dont come close. In a different league still.
  13. depending on the type, thier generally pretty cheap
  14. yeah , i only have on 10' as well acutally. Its a RF punch 2. Extremely strong, and all the bass ill ever need. Im a fan of balance. yeah man, swaping those sony's will definetely make a differnce. if the wattage ratings and everything matches, then there wont be distortion. You know why your factory speakers are distorting anyways.
  15. all chrome factory wheels suck. Yes. I have the same problem. If you live in a wintery area, make sure you wash it once a week to get the salt off.
  16. Dude, you got the idea. But you also said the rigth thing. Speakers arent tuned to work with anything else. Obviously they will work, but the sound frequencies those things will produce are completely limited. Hellooo distortion If your spending all that money anyways, Get new the two door speakers and rear ones. And new wiring. And If your reall a audiofool like me.... You would 4 channel amp all speakers, then run the tweeters into the deck and finish off with another Amp attached with a very complementing sub.
  17. if you are completely clueless then dont try it. Call crutchfield and ask for a complete guide. From what i know, they have a step by step guide with pictures on how to work the panels and stuff.
  18. Definetly no sub. Sk has done a good job talking about audio in the FAQ's . Read those. P.S. most people that try to mess around with there current set up, ie adding Subs with stock system wont get you far. The whole system is tuned to work with itself. Youd have to do serious wiring and HU replacement . After all my work, No levinson soundsystem comes even close to mine.
  19. Yup, 97-01 were the lost years. Nice cars obviously.. very smooth..... But it felt like my old bulky buick. my old 87 tarus station wagon could have pulled more G's than that. No joke
