  1. yeah, i remember you saying that 18X7 is the largest with 45mm offset. these are 18X7.5 but have 38mm offsets. Im sure that should work, no?
  2. well u see, i am trying to get some wheels. I have narrowed down to a specific style i really like. This is the more depth/lip mercedes style. My original coach wheels were like that, besides the fact that they were small and somewhat bent. just wondering which ones you guys like better http://www.shoptwm.com/catalog/images/DV630.jpg or http://www.wheelsbymbmotoring.com/images/lrg_Ammo.jpg or http://www.wheelsbymbmotoring.com/images/lrg_Abyss.jpg they are all going to be in size 18' i like the first two designs the best, but was leaning towards the 1st. Let me know what you all think, i wanna make sure i make a right choice and not end up regretting it later. The car is a black onyx looks like this(cept for a few surprizes on its way shortly):
  3. 21 years old. i was 19 during the purchase of my 96 ES300 Coach. Has been my prized possesion through college. I plan to keep it as long as i can, as i have/been doing so much with it. There are people who automatically place u on an income level just cause u drive a lexus, or the fact that " your daddy probably bought it for u" I bought it myself, thank u then, there are those other ignorants who look down on u cause you drive a used one. I hate that!!!
  4. its ok ... not really makin a difference for me.... probably not worth spending the extra money
  5. yeah my friends 97 camry was being a bit sluggish and his fuel economy was down almost 6 mpg. i told him to get a motorvac too. after a motorvac and some techron, the car was back to normal. Musta been nasty carbon deposits i guess.
  6. no sporty nature was intended. Infact as i remeber the differences, niehter was louder than the other... if anything the 1st gen's make a little more high pitched engine noise. Esp the 94-96.
  7. so is there anyway your ganna be able to get a hold of that plastic peice? is it removable from your tails ?
  8. 94-96 is hands down the safest and best bet. if you try and find something second gen for that price line, its ganna have more miles than youd wanna have. 7k price line for a 94-96 will get you relatively lower miles and definetely a less of a headache. As long as all mandatory maintainance was in order you are all set. I have seen way too many people with the old iron block 92-93 develope radiator problems and !Removed! up the gaskets. 94-96 was an all new aluminum engine with redesigned cooling system. 97-01 from what ive noticed require a bit more attention. have have many other problems of thier own, Like the engine oil problems.
  9. your car really does look magnificent. i love the eyelids. and the black finish is just smashing. i have black color too, but definetly to old to look that perfect.
  10. that really is amazing. I dont think ive heard of anyone else who has that many lexus' . thats over a 180 Grand right there.
  11. seriously. why would you want that kinda rotten filth on a car like this. why even think about something like that ? OOF
  12. perhaps some bad gas? try a fuel injector cleaner like the Chevron techron stuff. Or even better a Motorvac. that will clean up alot if build up you may have causeing the fuel injectors to choke.
  13. what kind of gas smell? and how do you know its coming directly from the injectors ??
  14. how is your factory alarm anyways? does it go off when you try to unlock the doors through open windows when alarmed? my factory alarm saved me. they just broke the rear window and realized they couldnt unlock the doors. i had tinted windows, and that was a savior in not having to deal with a too big of a mess on the coach apolstry. this was well over an year ago. since then ive had the top of the line clifford 2way security system by directed elec..... Even more goodies on that one!!
  15. why do you have so many lexus vehicles ? there is a detailing forum on this site. This is moderated by sw03es and has more information than youll ever want to know. just saying this, cause im sure this thread will be moved. there is also a free handbook on detailing there for all LOC member, which is free. that coul help u too -neil
  16. Just tons of info on this site. Do searches! youll get all you need to know
  17. either that or he did that on purpose to make it look differenet. But no, its not supposed to be that way.
  18. maybe you should also give that filter that SK has been talking about. that may help clear out some things too. You never know.
  19. thank clunk is experienced when your dogbone mount is a bit weak. i get that too..... and you can get rid of that clunk by shifting to drive first and then shifting to reverse right after. this makes it much smoother and you dont have to feel that thump.
  20. yeah... those im a bit more careful with this car since oddly the car was programmed to sustain a higher rpm's during colder start ups. its kinda uncomfy when your trying to drive gently and the rpms in second gear are @ 2500-2900. it automatically make you feel like your being agressive. But it does aide in charging up the battery faster on those real cold days. I drive other cars durning cold start up and they are funny when the temps get down at 5, 10 degrees.
  21. the manual actually says warm up 10 minutes ??? i guess i missed that one. does it say why they ask that the car be left idle for a whole 10 minutes? that sound very extreme. think that if you added up all those minutes of idling in the morning or at cold start up... thats like an hour every week or more. the most gas use is at start up ... a whole 10 minutes will stab your fuel economy like nothing else but a hitchcock movie
  22. no need to warm up long intervals. about a minute or so... and definetely drive very gently until the temp gauge becomes normal... this can take up to 20 minutes i do about 3 ish minutes too... especially if im cleaning snow or ice off my car in the morning, if i havent driven in more than a day, or if its extremely cold. below 16 degrees is where i become a bit more precautious.
  23. shifter is made by a company called razo and come with the overdrive feature.... i got it from a local accessory store here which order thier parts from a catalog. the trim is from a new york company that specialized in custom trimming. the sterring wheel was matched by american stitches.
