  1. get underneath the car for a better pin point on where the sound is exactly coming from.
  2. Yup. 4300k is what they usually start selling at. It is also the OEM color for factory HID's. The high K u go.. the bluer you get = darker= less actual brighteness. I decided to get them because there are projecter style lights on the 92-96 GEN. This actually looks quite close to stock. My point in getting these was safety over looks. Howver if you wanted bluer... its just a matter of changing out the bulbs.
  3. well.... they are 4300K. they are supposed to look mostly white/yellowish. So i wasnt going for much blue. however, in person you can see baby blue in the lights.. and intensity of the beam lets u know they are HID's. It was raining that night, and camera's dont manage to take the best pic someimtes.
  4. Ballast placement and wiring. Per request, some wished to see the install on pics. Sorry it took me so long for this, its finals week here at MSU!!! these last two, sorry about them.. it was raining that day
  5. 6-7 years ago, wow... that car was pretty new then. Pretty fly car for a college student!!!! My first car in high school was a 87 tarus station wagon. Good for space. Then i had a Buick Century. That one was my high school pimp mobile. NOt that i realy miss it anymore ;)
  6. style, elegance, reliability, and prestine. Its the one make as with most of toyota that Age makes absolutely no difference. And that goes with all Lexus models since early 90's which have been cared for. i picked an Es because it was more practical as a student and easier to work with. More things in common with its sibling the camry. Might i add, Toyota is also another company where if they share chassis.. it is not a simple rebage and leather wrapped seats that make the car.
  7. how is a voltage spike effected by rewiring the ballasts. I dont know what your really saying? Explain that please?
  8. that is what im getting. There are no hter disturbances on noices. So i guess im good. When your driving at night, do you feel that the bulbs sometimes shake themselves? They are fit in there tight, but for some reason, bumps and rough terrian at night give me the illusion that the bulbs them selves might be shaking a bit.
  9. yup, i get that. But as well... when i first turn it on, it makes a sharp electical shock sound. Just a sharp tak you hear all inside the car, wheather on or off. Would it be because i have it grounded to the metal on my car ?
  10. Does any one else have a static/electirc sound when they turn on there HID's ? I do ... im trying to find out why
  11. go with ceramic pads. They are soft, long lasting, quite, and very low in dust count
  12. is this ganna make those leaks appear faster since this fluid is thinner ? just asking because i know it does that when u switch to synthetic engine oil. I hadda fix some of the leaks. Now everything is perfect. I repaired some of the tranny gaskets too, so hopefully i wouldnt have to run into that problem when swtiching? Of those who switched to synthetic tranny fluid... how many reallly experienced smoother shifts ? Or is it just simply becuase you changed out your transmission fluid?
  13. thats crap. I would figure out a way to get those, whoever responsible, FIRED. there is no excuse whatsoever. Such a mistake should not be taken lightly. Remember, it could have screwed u. after being a lexus customer for so many years, u should expect more than this.
  14. thats always the case though, trade-in values are never ganna bring in anything close to the true private party blue book value. thats the main way dealers can make a profit.
  15. took a few pictures of the wheels i just bought.
  16. slow and curious, as a proud owner of one... I still find that funny. But i've been in terms to the performance of my car from day one that i bought it.
  17. 1996 Caddilac SLS 2000 Oldsmobile Sillouvette
  18. i went today and picked up a set of the first ones. After seeing them in person i fell in love with them. That picture was really not doing enough justice. ill take a few pics tonight and show u all.
  19. probably a problem with your amplifier. That and you should seriously post this in the SC forum, as they may have a better idea.
  20. Im no showoff, and i could care less about name... especially when in this case its not really "u get what u pay for" Infact, i hate supporting most of these outrageously priced wheel companies, only rich people can afford them and it sends out a wrong message. Gotta love those celebrity shows where all they can show for thier car's are thier DUB's and DVD monitors they have everywhere. And how about that one show "pimp my ride"--> just a large giovanna comercial. branshew- yeah i have 16's with decent thickness and work well as winter tires with great ride. These new ones will only be summer wheels-as the winters here and salt deposits tear up the road and your car.
  21. i know what your saying, i just dont have the money... as ive thrown into ground effect, exhaust, HID's, interior..... ect i have the LS wheels, and just wanted something for the summer that compliments my car well. Nothing as an act of show and shine to others. Another thing, i live on campus.. its dangerous to have high end wheels catching the eyes of those destructive cons. Ive already has my car *ucked with once.
  22. ofcourse, either am i. though i do not percieve them to be knockoff's, as they are both decent wheel companies. however, if you believe i should be riding on lorenzo's or lowenhart's like yourself--> fine. what ever keeps the extra money in my pocket for tuition. Abercrombie and Fitch is not my style.
  23. Haha, which one did you like steviej ? What did you lower your car with then SK ? i dont know about them all looking like truck wheels though ? they are all front wheel drive offsets and smaller sized wheels. I'm not looking for the sporty/spoky rims or even the ones that have regualr 5-6 spokes and nothing else special, its over done IMO.
  24. yeah , thats interesting. i like those too. But the thing is, the first ones were considerably cheaper than the second. I guess its a matter of, you get what you pay for. The local shop as ordered the Devino's so i can have a closer look at them. I guess when i go there ill ask him to order the second ones too. That way i can compare the two products in reality, rather than having to do so with simple picture. Its hard really getting to visualize the depth and curves with pictures. I also think that maybe the picture quality on those last two are much better than the devino one. maybe when i get to the shop to see them ill take some photos with my camera and post them up here to see what u guys think. but SK, whats your tire size? i know youve lowered with eibachs and u have 18s. Whats the width? Right now i have 16 inch LS400 wheels with 215/55. That has worked perfect. I figure if i stick with the same tire 215 series and then 45, that should work--> according to that tire calculator thats posted in the the wheel mods section. I didnt wana go too low profile, but obviously i can only do what fits. Maybe some of the others that have wheels, descirbe what they've done and what thier dimetions are exactly--> with/without rubbing and speedo acurateness
  25. the car is lowered 1 inch w/eibachs i was thinking 215 tire. how will this effect the tire size ? i didnt think this will effect too much
