  1. How much insurance do you have one the LS? Also, do you have LoJack on any of them?
  2. Ed: 1) The Brake light is probably on because one of your sensors is bad. Look for wear marks on one of the pad sensors. You could probably get them from the dealer for $150 or so. I'd suggest you get one and troubleshoot. 2) I'm not that familiar with the air suspension. I know the struts are expensive, and the airbags are part of it. Ebay's a good place to look, or you could call up a junk yard or two in your area.
  3. Hey, I wanted to let you know that your topic belongs in the GS Forum instead of the SC Forum. The guys in the GS Forum will be able to help you with any motor swap questions since a couple of them have actually done it. Good luck with your project. Sincerely, UCF3
  4. Steve: Wanted to ask you if there is any delay from when you unlock the doors using the remote and you openning the door? Also, does the car chirp/beep at all?
  5. Same here, I think they're kind of blingy too. i'm getting mine painted with a slight gun-metal colour. It should look good, once I buy the 18"ers.
  6. Dirtold: not sure what the fasteners look like but are they the push type like in the interior or closely threaded screws?
  7. That's pretty cheap. Interesting, you mentioned the parts manager had to lower control arm bushings kit for $23; could you verify what the contents in the kit?
  8. Mike: Sheriff Coltrane, Haha! :lol What's the name of your Insurance company? If it's joe schmo insurance then you have to take them to court or at least file a case with the County Attorney's office. Make sure you have your Police Report with you when you visit the DA's office. Oh yeah, take some shots of the car at the pound. If it's a name brand, GEICO, State Farm etc., ask them to present documentations about your claim and what really lead them to that conclusion. Most states have laws regarding denying claims. I believe GA is one of them. Keep us in the loop and we'll try to get you as much assistance we can.
  9. does it include service manual? how to replace oil or fuel filters for example? how to reset ECU after changing oil? etc. thanks. ← Why would you need to reset the ECU when you change the oil and oil filter?
  10. $1k sounds just about right. You could also try the local toyota dealers as well; they should be closer to $900.
  11. Sidemotion: I don't think it will work since they are totally different engines hence totally different ECMs. Stock clusters, climate control etc will be a challenge to rewire. If you were dropping a JDM Celsior motor in your new LS it might do it. I'd invest my money and time towards a LS v8, rebuild it, and just for kicks add one of the super charger kits. Whatever you do let us know how it turns out. I'm sure we'll try to help you as much as possible. $2500 for the body is fair but definitely bargain w/ her.
  12. It sounds like your power steering pump is about to go bad. I'd think about buying a remanufacturered one. You can also do a quick search for power steering pump in the LS Forum. This will give you an idea on how much you're going to need to spend, and there are some links to a tutorial on how to accomplish this. If all else fails re-post and we can help you change the pump. If you want one from Lexus private message me and I'll help you get one below the retail cost. good luck
  13. Hey Everybody: On behalf of everybody from the Admins down to us Moderators we wish every member of the Lexus Owners Club a Happy New Year. We hope all of you will return to our little community of Lexus lovers, and I hope we encourage other people to join our great family.
  14. Hey Guys: Thought I'd wish everybody a safe and good New Year.
  15. Happy Holidays everyone.
  16. Barkat: Thanks for the source. lovLex: Tirerack is rating the tire a little higher, and because it's using Silica I have to say it will repel water and decrease your stopping distance. Yes I know it's a fairly new compound but I'm going to keep it up. I'll remove it if more negative comments are put against the tire. You don't have to put the tire on your car. They're just recommendations.
  17. This post will be updated with new information Recommended Tire Choice for the LS 400-All Years Michilen HydroEdge--All Seasons Firestone Affinity LH30--All Seasons(Stock Wheels) Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Symmetrical--All Seasons(Stock Wheels) Yokohama AVS DB S2--all Seasons(Stock Wheels) Members please add more Tire Choices, and I'll merge them into one Post.
  18. It's also likely that the Pads and Rotors weren't properly broken in. A lot of the Infinitis' make that kind of a sound, and in most cases the technicians aren't breaking them in properly. Do this. First feel your rotors for bumps. Since they're new, it shouldn't have any. if there are, take it back to Lexus and tell them the brakes are squeeking. I'm hoping they'll replace the rotors under warrantly. If they do, -Drive your car at 20mph for 1 minute, and depress the brakes to a complete stop. -put it in Park for a 2 minutes (cool down) --Drive your car at 50mph for 3minutes, and depress the brakes... -Put it in Park for 15 minutes (cool down). ---Drive your car at 75 mph for 15 minutes, depress the brakes... -Put it in park for 20 minutes. This should break the pads and rotors in correctly.
  19. Looks like the lenses are slightly different. The ones on Ebay are clear/clear w/a chrome interior, and the ones in the $20 are clear/hazed w/a plastic finish. Wow, you guys have some choices.
  20. I have my doubts that's possible on the GEN I or II cars, but even if it possible i wouldn't do it. It my inadventently stretch a cable causing it to snap or wear. Let us know if it exists, but I wouldn't do it.
  21. Sorry for the delayed response. I believe there's a way to increase and decrease the TQ Converter. I remember Cureline.net writing something about it. When the site is back up, you can check it out. BTW I never asked you if you had any pipe or oil leaks.
  22. Enjoy the nice comfortable seating, since the rest of us have crappy seating(Wear).
  23. Enjoy the nice comfortable seating, since the rest of us have crappy seating(Wear).
  24. Any rust visible on the new rotors and pads? If there is taking it back to Lexus will be a waist of time. It will burn off after a while.
  25. Check the radiator drain; see if there's anything leaking from there. Worse case scenerio, you're replacing your coolant reseviors with a new one.
