This could happen if excessive force was used when the plugs were installed. Actually, a torque wrench should be used so they're not overtightened. ;)

This is the first time I saw this visual demonstration of the Lexus Navigation System, published by the Lexus Corporation. It is really very helpful when trying to learn this system. I think it'll only work for you guys/gals that have a broadband internet connection though. What you say is true, but remember as loudspeaker impedance goes down, current drawn from the amplifier rises commensurately.(ie: Voltage of 2.83 x 2.83_divided by 8 ohm speaker impedence = 1 watt. With the same formula going into a 4 ohm speaker it will give you now double the power(ie:2 watt), however the amplifier will only do this if it has the necessary current capability. There is a limit the amplifer can produce without distorting and eventually it will destroy itself. Finally, If this were not so, speakers would be designed with 1 ohm resistance and draw far more current, hence power from the amplifier. So, the old adage that there is no free lunch still holds true.

Take off the positive battery cable and put an amp meter between the battery terminal and the battery cable. If you get more then a few milliamps of current draw then you have to start pulling the fuses and see what circuit is drawing excessive current. There is always a slight amount of battery current being used for stuff like the clock, computer, etc., but not enough to kill your battery overnight. I didn't start my car for over a month and when I did it started without any problems. I feel it's nothing more then a dead cell in your battery.

The lower the speaker impedance, the higher the load it puts on the output stage of the amplifier therefore affecting the output volume. That's why I said it'll make the amplifier work harder to get up to the same volume and therefore cause the amplifier to "clip". Clipping means you're pushing the amplifier into the distortion range. ;)

Speaker efficiency is in the design of the speaker. Efficiency is how it converts the electrical signal into the loudness which is measured in decibels(db) It hasn't got anything to do with the impedence, ie: 4 ohm, 8 ohm, etc. If the output stage of an amplifier was designed to work with an 8 ohm speaker and you put in a 4 ohm speaker the volume of sound will be lower, and the amplifier will possibly "clip" causing this distortion due to this mismatch.

I guess that Lexus figured you don't need this light during the daylight hours.

The computer that controls this operation has absolutely nothing to do with the octane rating, or the quality of the fuel. There is always a variation on the trip mileage after a fillup. This device is not so sophisticated as to read the chemical composition of what is in your gas tank. What this computer does is it takes all the previous measurements pertaining to speed, miles per gallon, etc, and determines approximately what the readout should be on your next fillup. When I do strictly highway driving I'll get a much higher reading as opposed to city driving.

I wouldn't worry about this readout since there are too many variables with the computer as to why it gives you this reading. My '03 can vary between 280 to over 300 after a fillup. In other words, it not an accurate indication. ;)

The reason your sockets are melting is because the contacts are oxidized. The added resistance causes excessive heat at this point. Either you can try cleaning off this oxidation, or use a contact cleaner before plugging it into the lamp.

I've seen heated seat pads that go over your seat and plug into the cigarette lighter. Going this route would be a lot cheaper then what you want to do. Check this out: Seat Heaters

That car of yours is a rare find, and a real beauty, especially with the extremely low mileage. Use it well. Oh yeah, one other thing.......all of your photos were top notch! P.S. You must be a high roller to have stayed at the Bellagio in one of their luxurious rooms.

Is your trunk empty? If it is then you could have overloaded the rear struts with all that weight. There's a good chance that you have to replace them. :( Were they ever changed before?

Hey, be happy if you get a Toyota Corolla. I live in New York city and most times I use my wifes car (2001 Toyota Corolla), to do errands around town. It's easier to park in the small spots, it's easier on gas mileage, and it runs like a little doll. I save my '03 ES for road trips and also to impress my snobby friends. hehe :D

I don't think that the '94ES had a subwoofer. I never saw it when I checked out my '94.
