  1. Stevie- What is the CD you mentioned?........I have a DVD for the '02 ES300.
  2. You probably are overloading the woofer or the woofer is defective. If you are turning up the low frequency boost then turn it down slightly. I sorta doubt whether it's the enclosure that is causing this problem.
  3. Generally this type of suspension option is only sold on the West coast, USA. East coast dealers can only get a car equipped with "Adaptive Variable Suspension" on cars that are specially ordered, and that could take quite awhile.
  4. Sure, but I wipe it off with a towel that I keep in the car for just that purpose. ;)
  5. I spend a lot of time in the L.A.(Santa Monica) area and the smog situation has improved tremendously compared to a few years ago. The traffic problem is getting worse and worse though. <that's my eyes blinking from the smog. hee hee!
  6. The 2001 ES300 Coach Edition is a ULEV(Ultra Low Emission Vehicle), so it should meet the California standards. If you need anymore clarification you can call this number, 916-657-7669. This is the California Motor Vehicle Department that handles this type of queries.
  7. Too bad you didn't go to Sears to have your battery checked! They do a complete load test on your battery without any cost to you. ;)
  8. It's not too hard to take the rotor off. Remove the caliper(2 bolts), and support it with a wire or string so the brake line is not put under undo strain. Remove the 2 little bolts that hold the rotor to the backplate and pull off the rotor.
  9. That's a tough call without knowing more about this car. Mileage alone does not determine a price. More information is needed as to the condition, equipment, etc.
  10. Leave it alone and continue using the stock air filter setup. You'll be happier in the long run. IMHO
  11. WRONG! You don't have to be young, performance oriented driver to have this transmission or electronic throttle quirk to happen. Sure, you can drive the car to minimize these problems, but this should NOT be necessary in a car of this quality. I love my car in all other respects, but after driving it through all kinds of conditions, this is the only thing that continuously bugs me. <_<
  12. Dealers hate to have you leave their showroom so you have nothing to lose by trying that game. ;)
  13. A CPO vehicle from Lexus should cover exactly the same things as if you purchased said vehicle new! You are definitely getting the run around from whomever you spoke to, and as you said the Lexus Corporation will look into this situation and surely will correct everything under their warranty.......including a loaner car. When I hear about these things they certainly *BLEEP* me off.
  14. It could take a long time to bring a discharged battery up to full charge. This is assuming that the cells are in good shape. Bring the car into Sears or someplace that has a 'Load Tester' to determine if the battery is bad.
  15. At this point I would get new tires, properly inflated, and a 4 wheel alignment. Also, check the suspension for proper shock absorber action.
  16. Your transmission is acting completely normal. The higher RPM when cold will differ depending upon the ambient temperature. The colder it is the higher the RPM will be. You don't have to wait until the engine drops to normal idle speed before shifting into gear. ;)
  17. Nope.......that picture was taken in Minnetonka, MN. a couple of years ago.
  18. We old guys paid our dues in the work force and now it's time to pursue our dreams that we thought about all these many years. I like traveling (especially in my fairly new Lexus), around the country, but it seems I'm always flying to these destinations and then renting a car. Nowhere have I found a car rental agency that'll rent a Lexus though. Stevie......don't worry you'll get to that retirement age soon enough and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as your dad and me. Here's a picture of me in my other car:
  19. 1- I wake up. 2- Decide whether I had enough sleep. 3- Decision was that I need a bit more. 4- Turn over and go back to sleep. I'm retired.......yay!!! :D
  20. Gee......I am very tuned in to all kinds of strange sounds that my '03 makes, but the only one that bothered me was the rear door creaking(rattle). This was fixed very quickly by my dealer. At the moment this car has absolutely NO noises on smooth roads as well as poorly paved roads. I'm still not too thrilled with the transmission shifting and I believe that this is caused by the electronic throttle. I say this because I had a similar feeling while driving my cousins BMW 740IL which also had an electronic throttle. I'm learning to live with it though since this car has many more great features that I haven't found in other manufacturers automobiles.
  21. Steve- Very sorry to hear about your dog. They are really part of the family. :(
  22. I'm sad to say that the ES group of guys was poorly represented at the Floyd Bennett Field meet. I was looking forward to seeing the highly detailed , purple/black jewel owned by SW03ES, but NO, even though he said, "I'm in". :P I knew that steviej wouldn't be there because of business commitments. There were only 2 ES's there, one of which was mine. A bunch of IS300's, GS300's/400's, 430's, SX300's/400's. 1 or 2 LS400's/430's. Most all the guys were from Club Lexus. Anyway, it was a nice meet with nice friendly guys.
  23. You could try adjusting the door jam plate, up or down, in or out. You'll need a large phillips head screw driver to loosen it.
  24. The silt filter is at the bottom of the fuel line in the bottom of the fuel tank. It's a wire type of mesh. It filters out larger impurities before it gets to the final filter under the hood.
