  1. Welcome to the LOC. When you post your questions or comments we need to know bothe the year and full model. For example. 2013 RX350. Every model year may be a little different. Therefore, the information below is for current models. The spare tire also has a pressure sensor. Its not unusual for the spare tire to cause the low tire pressure light to come on. Fill your tires to the cold pressure amount shown on the drivers side door pillar. The reset procedure is in you owners manual. Paul
  2. Hello Alfred and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Your dealer is correct in that there has been a consistant problem with the Levinson amps failing. However, I didn't know that they had apparently changed the range of the freqencies to provide more bass. I assume they have changed the settings on the equalizer and it didn't help. Did they check to make sure the sub woofer is not "blown" or damaged? The only suggestion I can make is to contact the company in the link below. United Radio specializes in car audio repair. They are the only company I know of that can actually work on Mark Levinson systems. I would suggest calling them and explaining your problem and see if they can help. My main concern for you is that they will say the only way to solve the problem is to change out the entire crossover network. Please come back and let us know what United Radio has to say. 3. Hi Cathy and welcome to the LOC. Your probably right. Already almost all car makers are using LEDs for some applications in most models. The use for headlights, according to some articles I've read, are being phased in, but there are some problems with getting the angles of beam coverage to be as focused and accurate as HIDs.
  4. Here's one choice. http://www.carid.com/2010-lexus-rx-seat-covers/
  5. The two links below should offer you help with both your issues. The Lexus.com is the official Lexus website and provides you with online customer service, online chat, or 1-800 service. For your situation I would recomend using the 1-800 route. One of the choices on the descion tree when you call, is to talk about an issue with a dealer. Have your facts and dates organized and just explain how frustrated your experiance has been. The second link is a site that explains what is causing the "rotten egg" smell and that the only fix is to replace the CAT. It should answer most if not all of your questions. When we members have problems that are particuarly odd, remember we have a huge data base you can search and find many answers. Please come back "peppurr" and let us know how things are going. http://www.carsdirect.com/car-maintenance/car-exhaust-smell-understanding-where-the-problem-lies http://www.lexus.com/contact/index.html
  6. This web site shows all OEM parts for most Lexus models including yours. You put in the year, make and model, and then choose the sub-system your looking for. Example, transmission, air conditioning, electrical, and so on. When you chose the sub-system, it shows an exploded diagram of all the parts within that assembly. From there you will find your part number. But as the guys above said, you at least need to know what the part is linked to. When you have located the right part, I would recommend going to "Sewellparts.com" in Dallas, TX. Sewell is a big Lexus dealer with an online parts business. Members of the LOC receive a good discount on Lexus parts, and they have had a consistant reputation for great service. They can help you over the phone if you like to determine what part you need. Let us know how things turn out. Paul http://www.mylparts.com/
  7. The 2013 is a brand new model year and sales are good. Its early in the year and dealers have no reason to accept anything more that the 10% or around $1,000 to maybe $1,200 of MSRP. If you wait until December you might pick up a little more if the dealer hasn't hit his numbers for the year. If it was me, I'd buy now while inventories are high and selection is broad. Let us know how things turn out. We always like to know how pricing is going around the country. Paul

Good to hear from you! Whats going on with you and where are you asigned to now?
  9. Sounds like a good plan!
  10. Hi Garys and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. First, you talk about your traction or skid light. I think tou mean slip light and or tranction light. They really are two seperate things. In your owners manuals you will find a discription of what each of these system do. Neither one of them have any thing to do with the alignment of the wheels. The slip indicator light/traction control light can mean; Malfunction of the VCS (Vehicle Stability Control) system Malfunction of the Traction Control System This light will flash when these systems are operating. I can't rember clearly if the 2010ES has a button for turning the traction control on and off.
  11. I don't think you missed an option offered for the RX. This is truly a "Loaded" set of wheels. As you know, there is no magic number a dealer will accept for your trade in or against the MSRP of the new one. These values also differ by region and zip cod, also by how hungry the dealer is that particular month to fill his used car lot and to sell an RX out of inventory versus ordering one. My experiance in trying to get a starting point from wich to evaluate bargining points, has been to use either Kelleys Blue Book or Edmunds car values. Both are on line. You input your data for the new car and you will get the dealers invoice, MSRP, and fair market value. The same process is used for your trade-in. I reccomend you use both services and compare the information for an average to bargain with. Also, their are online auctions for new and used car from which you can get an idea of what 2013 RX's are going for at wholesale prices.
  12. "Oh to suffer the slings and arrows"......lol I've been wondering where you've been! Haven't seen SW or NC for quite a while.
  13. Hi Becki. In my 2013 ES350 Owners Manual, it list the procedure for changing your ringtone. 1. Select ring tone on the phone sounds settings screen. 2. Select tone 1, tone 2,or tone 3. and then OK. Owners Manuals are wonderful things. :)
  14. Hello Charleneandwelcome to the LOC. In answer to your question, I have not heard of anyone having any particular difficulty like you describe. Its not quite clear from what you describe as to what the "wear spot" looks like. Is it a hole in the fabric? Or a tear in the seam? Regardless, if it is a defect in the material or sewing of the seam, it is covered under your warranty by the materials and workmanship coverage. The jeans "blue dye" transfer is a pain, but even though I have the light parchment color interior I believe the transfer issue is lees than it was on my Lexus that had a Cashmere interior. If you feel you have a legitimate warranty problem, do not let the dealer blow you off. You can contact Lexus Customer Care at Lexus.com or 800-255-3987. Paul
  15. I have a 2007 Volvo S80 - 3.2 and frankly it has been a great car. I was like a lot of others in that I figured Volvo designers never owned a protractor with a curved line. They all looked like refrigerators lying on ther sides. The later models have been totaly different. The one we have, it is really my wifes love, has 18" low profile tires with spoked alloy wheels. It has nav, a premium Swedish Dynaudio sound system which has been rated by some magazines as better than Harmon, Bose, and Bang & Olfson. It also has variable suspension settings by pushbutton for hiway, sport, and xtra firm for difficult turns mountain type driving. ( haven't used that much here on the plains). You can also vary the steering effort for three different settings. Headlights follow the turns as you steer, and they are self leveling. Headlighs also have their own washing jets. The Volvo is not everyones cup of tea. Volvos have a reputation for saftey and they are built like a tank. If high performance is what you want, then the S80 would not be your choice. Volvo is in the process of phasing out the S80 which has been their flagship product at about $40,000 to$$48,000. The ride is not as soft as the Lexus and the cabin wind noise is not as quite as the Lexus. We have 79,000 on ours and out side of regular maintenance and a flat tire, their have been no problems.
  16. Last October I purchased my 2013 ES350, loaded as you say, sans ML Sound system. The retail price was around $42,600. I also had the dealer remove the Bridgestone factory tires and swap for Michelin Primacie's. The 2013 is very popular, and as such your not going to find a dealer in my opinion, willing to go more than !,200 - $1,500. under sticker. From time to time Lexus provides their dealers with $1,000 certificates/coupons that they can apply to any deal they feel like would help close the sale, if its in the dealers best interest. I got $1,500 off sticker and the $1,000 coupon. I felt really good because in October of last year, the 2013's had only been out for a short while, and the dealers were just standing in line accepting checks. Do you have a trade in? Have you researched it's value? Very important. Let us know how things yurn out.
  17. Can you hear that little voice whispering in your ear......Brian.....buy me Brian....i'm an LS, the most luxurious car Lexus makes.....oh Brian.....buy me! Man. I know what you mean. The LS460 is a gorgeous automobile. I have looked at one or two 2009 or 2010's. But even then its still to much cash. Considering I can buy a brand new ES for about the same money. So I should go back and say it's not the price of the pre owned LS, its justifying purchasing that pre owned with 30,000 miles over a new ES with 7 miles on it. What a dilimea!
  18. It would be virtualy impossible for any car maker to install in hundreds of thousands of cars, model after model, with backwardly compatible and forwardly upgradeable software for every single phone protocol in every country in the world. Now Having said that, I'll retract my statement saying it would be nearly impossible. It could be done, but how much would you be willing to pay for it. You could pay $40,000 for the car and as a feature, buy the phone package for $100,000. The Lexus platform is geared towards the Iphone device, as is the audio software using the ipod. I can say with confidance, that Toyota will not make any immediate changes as long as Apple has a strong presence in market share.
  19. Hey again Brian. I'm not sure what the ratio is for black interiors vs. Parchment interiors, wich is the name of the light/tan leather. Just going by the trends of the clubs members, i would say there is a strong preferance for black leather, but not always matched with a black exterior. It could be that what you saw showed that black leather is very popular and they can't keep them in stock. Remember also, there are definate likes and dislikes when it comes to older adults and younger adults. Older adults may prefer the Parchment over black. I'm an old !Removed!. I have the Parchment. LOL
  20. Hi Jason and welcome to the LOC. We're glad your here. Bob is right. For some strange reason, known only to some Lexus engineer who must be just hanging on for retirement, all Lexus models, including the 2005 ES330 I used to have, still have the same wiper system. I leave my wiper setting in the auto rain sensing mode. They will come on almost instantly with just a sprinkle. The only time I consistantly have to start the wipers manualy is when I get in the car after having shut it off. The wipers, again for an unknown reason, will not come on automaticaly. I have to put the lever down to the first manual stage and then they will operate perfectly. As far as the seat belt warning chime, the answer is no. The seat belt warning chime is activated by sensors in the bottom seat cushion. I hope by way of asking your question that your implying you don't wear seat belts? I had a accident last October and was very glad I had mine on.
  21. Hello Eugene77rus, and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Congratulations on you new Lexus. The ES is a great car and will give many miles of luxury driving. I noticed in your introduction that you listed your Lexus as a "ES250". In the USA we have never had an ES250 model. We have had the ES350 series since 2007, so I am not familar with the ES250 designation. There are differant names and deignations for Lexus cars in Japan and some other European countries. Please write back and tell us more about you new Lexus. Paul
  22. This Blog writer quotes a Wall St. source that predicts that both Volvo and Mitsubishi will stop markrting their products in the USA by the end of 2014. Their doom and gloom is based on declining market share of both companies, as well as other financial factors. Remember Volvo was acquired last year by a Chinese Corp, Geely. Are these guys on the money?.... or do you think the car makers can turn it around. http://www.autoblog.com/2013/05/27/volvo-mitsubishi-road-and-track-among-brands-predicted-to-disapp/?a_dgi=aolshare_email
  23. Very positive review of the new 2014 IS350. Lots of comments about being better than any German product. Complete phptos included. Has anybody driven one? http://autos.aol.com/gallery/2014-lexus-is-review/#!slide=0
