  1. Hi brimcc. The best help I can give is a dealer in Dallas,Texas named Sewell Lexus. Many of the clubs members buy parts from them because they give a good discount to club members, and they have a large inventory and excellent customer service. Go to "sewellparts.com". When you register indicate you are a member of the Lexus Owners Club,(LOC). This will factor in your discount. I'm sorry, but I don't know if there is a difference in parts between Canada and the USA. I hope this is helpful. Paul
  2. I apologize for the poorly written and gramatically structured response. I must have been trying to type and compose while taking a nap at the same time.As before, I suggest going to a Lexus dealer and have them check out your master key. You can't just repair one, if it is the problem you'll have to buy a new one. Having said that, "cduluk" is very good with these areas and It sounds like he might have a different idea/solution in mind. I wasn't referring to your post. There was originally another post by a new member below yours with some jabber about LiON batteries for hybrids steering towards a link to some sort of aftermarket warranty. That appears to have since been deleted. To answer cduluk's question, this is for my 02 and I only have one Master key. If the issues gets worse, I'll have to do something, but I could go through a lot of batteries before I would hit the cost of a new master key. Let us know how things work out.Paul

  4. Hi Deb and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. You may be right that it could be as simple as a fuse.I looked through a couple of older Owners Manuals I have and found that it is probably just one of many systems that could be protected by one fuse. None of the manuals show a specific circut for the garage door opener. I don't know if you have worked with any Lexus dealers before, but most owners find them a breath of fresh air when compared to the typical stereo type of a car dealer. To ensure your getting good information, take your 300rx to a Lexus dealer and then a Toyota dealer. I'm not 100% sure the Toyota shop will have those parts but they can certainly give you a second opinion. Also, if you want, ask around for the name of a good independant mechanic if you'd like another opinion. Please, do not take you Lexus to a Jiffy Lube, Firestone, Pennzoil shop or Sears. They will do more harm than good. Come back and let us know how things turn out. Paul
  5. Hi Bill and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Whenever any service work is done to a/your Lexus, a record is always entered into the Lexus data base. If you purchased the car as a Certified Pre Owned car, all service would have been taken care of. Your best solution is to put the salesman and service advisor together until you get a straight answer. Or go to Lexus.com for customer support. This is an exspensive service routine so make them work for their money. Paul
  6. Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. The speaker wires are gathered together in multi-wire cables and harness'. They run under the dash, through the door panels and under the floor sometimes, etc. Unless you are VERY familiar with electronics and car audio, I would suggest going to a car audio store, or your Lexus dealer. Paul
  7. Why don't you guys take the plunge and buy a Lexus LFA! Be an interesting match between the Vette and the LFA..........? Paul
  8. Hi Mavin. I apologize for not getting an answer to your problem. I would usually suggest a search of our data base, but your situation is so specific/narrow, that I doubt you'd find any help. A look over at Club Lexus might be helpful. Let me know next time you head out to that beach!! Paul
  9. Hi Dennis and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Your ride looks like new. It's apparent theres been a lot of tlc put into it. Paul
  10. Hi Bader and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. You are correct. The tail light lens of the ES350 sold in the United States, is of a different shape than the one in your picture. However, it is of little value to know that unless where you live, the Lexus dealers have the parts to change the tail light assembly. I will try to take picture tonight and post it for you. Paul
  11. Hi Ken and welcome to the LOC. I've never climbed in the trunk of a Lexus with an ML system so I can't tell you for certain. My guess is that both the left and right speakers are either mid-range, or coaxial. You can log on to Lexus.com and go through the menus and maybe pin it down. Easiest way would be to call Crutchfield and ask them what speakers are next to the 8" sub woofer? Paul
  12. The auto sales figures just out for July show double digit increases for many badges. Sales numbers are nearing those of prerecession levels. That despite the fact that prices haven't been lowered, just streching out the payments. As I read the article, I wondered what was the most popular way to purchase a Lexus? Would it be: A standarnd installment loan plus trade B. Lease? C. Cash upfront + Installment loan D. Cash E. Other.....please explain? This is not a survey,no results will be tabulated. It's simply an interesting way to look at the difference(if there is any, between a luxury car buyer experiance and a median car buyer. Lets have some fun with this! (Actually, Steve W buys my Lexus for me.) (I know where the family skeletons are buried.)LOL Paul http://autos.aol.com/article/auto-sales-july-ford-gm-general-motors/?icid=maing-grid7%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl12%7Csec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D353047
  13. I'm not an expert with this, but here are some threads from a search of our data base. Check them out and see if they help. If not, come back and we'll get some more information to work with. Paul
  14. Try this thread from our search base. It might get you started on the right track. If not do another search as there are more post about this issue. Paul http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/72815-something-is-stuck-in-my-center-console-help/
  15. Your best chance for a probable answer and estimate is United Radio in New York. They specialze in car audio and many members have had good luck with them. Let us know what you find out. Paul http://unitedradio.com/automotive/
  16. Hi Brenda and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I've had three remote start packaages installed in three different ES's. The oldest was a 2005 ES330. The 330 was the model just following the 300. I doubt there was much differance between them as it pertains to the installation of a remote starter. However, before driving anywhere, you can call both the Toyota and Lexus dealers for a quote. You see, there is no Lexus beand remote starter for your year and model. Lexus didn't start offering that until around 2011(?). So where ever yo go it will be an after-market product, which in many ways in better than the one Lexus offers. As I said earlier, I've had three aftermarket units installed and have loved them. The key can be programed by either dealer, or an up to date locksmith,I had a quote from a locksmith a few months ago for $35.00. Prices vary from place to place. Here in the midwest, my Lexus dealer charged me around $600. and took about a day for the installation. Please come back and let us know how things are going. Paul
  17. Excellent write up "gbhrps"!!! Thanks for taking the time to be so thorough and educational. Paul
  18. Before you order the regulator, take a look at this. This thread is from a search of or data base. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/68291-98-lexus-es300-driver-side-window-problem/
  19. Very, very, nice!! Just a beautiful car. Lexus did it right with this design! Paul
  20. Greetings Alton and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Let us know if we can help as you go through your restoration. Paul
  21. I had a situation recently where I needed to program a 2013 fob. I spoke with a locksmith who said he was able to cut and program earlier keys such as yours for about $25.00. However, I don't know if you need the master key or not. My dealer had to program my 2013 fob, but the cost was only $38.00. As Jim said, you might be best to start with your local Lexus dealer to at least get your technical questions cleared up.
  22. Any body tried going to a wrecker yard or on-line salvage reseller for an original equipment replacement? Sometimes you can pick up one in like new condition.
  23. Glad you were able to trouble shoot the problem. Thanks for coming back and letting everyone know what you finally came up with. That way everyone learns.
  24. Hi Todd and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. My first guess is still a fuse check. I don't know the layout for a 2001 GS, but I did find a complete layout of all fused circuits for a 2010. I realize there are probably some diffrances, but the one thing I did discover is that in th 2010 there are 3 fuse links for the audio, not just 2. All of those fuses are located in the fuse box under the hood, top left hand side. There are 2 "audio system" 30 amp fuses for the amplifier. There is 1 "audio system" radio fuse. These appear to be the only fuses designated for the head unit/radio. It is always best to pull the fuse out to make sure it is blown or not. Paul
