  1. Did a search of our data base and found this posting. Not sure if it will help. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/73835-center-console-will-not-open-03-ls430/
  2. Hi Russ. Welcome to the Club. I see your Lexus is a 2010 LS. Is your mileage over 50,000? If not your still in warranty. Take it to your dealer. If your out of warranty, there is no lock, ( key type) for the console lid, just a latch. You say you store only your owners manual in the console. Could a piece of paper from one of the pages be torn off and stuck in the latch. Have you stored other items in the console, such as fast food wrapers, gloves, anything that could get caught in the latch. What ever you do, don't force it or try to pry it open. If you can't see the latching mechanism to ascertain if in fact something is stuck in there, go to your dealer. Come back and let us know what you find out. Paul
  3. A guy actualy wrote 27 pages evaluating the ML system? The guy was either being paid my ML if it was positive, or a competitor if the review was negative. Personaly, I think the guy was off his medication. lol The 27 pages consisted of pro and con by established members of the web site. By reading the posts one would gather that a problem does exist with the subwoofer, and that ML is addressing the problem along with Lexus. I don't have the ML option and am happily satisfied with the premium system that came with my car. 27 pages to tell you there is a problem with a 10"inch speaker? I can see 27 pages for a review of "War and Peace", but really, I have to see this for myself. Can you post a link of this disertation?
  4. The bottom line is that the featue just doesn't work very well. The amount of air the fan blows is so weak that the differance between having it on or off is almost negligable. I mentioned the ventilated seats on my 2007 Volvo S80. While driving, even with the AC fan on low, you can hear the air blowing from the passenger side seat. Thats the way ventilated seats should work.
  5. FYI, The plural of Lexus is Lexi. Sounding the i as a long i. Your Latin grammar admonition would be correct if Lexus were an actual singular Latin word. It is not, it is an invented word, and the rules of the plural on it are much looser. That said, any opportunity to review my high school Latin is much appreciated. I feel your pain..lol! I sat through a semester of Latin and was quite sure I was either going to put a bullet in my head or the teachers. Come finals, it was a toss up. Thanks for the feed back. Paul

  8. Pretty cool. I assume your not watching movies while your driving.
  9. I 'm feeling light headed and confused. I feel dazed and dizzy. I think I actually agree with Lenore, for the most part. Will it last? Much of what all of us are feeling is a sense of frustration at watching two trains on the same track, steaming at full speed toward one another, and ther'es nothing we can do about it, but watch the enevitable destruction. At the time of Obama's last State of the Union address before Congress, he had a 49% approval rating. Congress had a 2-3% approval rating. Now, you would think that with that almost on the floor approval rating, Congress would have taken a hint and pulled together to pass some legislation that would have been important and popular with we voters. Instead, the Republicans continued their strategy of blocking and trying to make Obama look bad regardless of the importance of the legislation. The Democrats simply did nothing. Then came the elections. You and I, the voters cast our votes and that was important. But during the campaign, with the blessing of the Supreme Court, the voters had no idea who they were voting for. The corporations, PACs, private billionares, foundations, lobyist, bankers, Wall Street, etc. had thrown in hundreds of miilions if not billions of dollars to shape, twist, mislead, and package the candidates so that you really had no way of telling who was who. I have no idea how to get control back, because I have no money to buy the influence. But looking back, all things run in cycles. This too shall pass. If we survive the cycle.

    Hello All

Greetings Rabn and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Sounds like you have a "keeper" with a great track record. Post any questions any time. Paul
  11. Hey Brian, I'm glad you liked the ES. I was pretty sure that once you drove one you would find out for yourself that it is a true luxury car,Well beyond the Buick. I have the premium sound system in my 2013 ES and I really enjoy it. I did however make one modification to fill out the bottom notes that to my ears, were weak. I put an additional amplifier and small suwoofer (8") in the trunk. To my hearing that really made a differance. I would love to have the Mark Levinson system but I also like to keep the $2,500. in my pocket. Let us know when you make your purchase/lease and post some pics of your new baby! Paul
  12. Welcome to the LOC. Your best bet would be e-bay or online custom mat suppliers. This link takes you to one of the sites carrying Loyd floor mats. Loyds makes mats for any model and year car and are custom cut and measured to fit. You can even have them personalized. I have purchased a set and there of excellent qualty at a good price. http://www.carid.com/2004-lexus-es-floor-mats/ Paul
  13. Hi Brian and welcome to the LOC. You've asked some good questions and have gotten some good answers. I'll try to add some more information for you to take into consideration. I have owned a 2005 ES330, a 2010 ES350, and now a 2013 ES350. All three have been truly great cars, yet each had it's unique qualities. All had and have an excellent ride. The 2013 has been tuned to provide more responsive handling but without sacrificing the Lexus ride and quite cabin. Now, is it as quite and smooth as the 2010 Es was? To me, it is. But to you, you have no referance point other than the ATS. So asking about the ride and quite of the Lexus is of no help because you never drove an older one. Reliability on all Lexus/Toyota products is excellent. Lexus has been the best selling luxury car or in the top three of the best selling luxury cars for the past 5 years. Reliabilaty is a big reason for that. I have never had better service or better technicians service my cars than my Lexus dealer. And in saying that I should tell you that my dealer also sells Cadillac and gives those customers the same high level of service. One of the diffrences with the 2013 ES is the change from a Camry based chasis to using the Toyota Avalon chasis. This frame is longer and more rigid and also gives more interior cabin room. Lexus offers the Mark Levinson premium sound system featuring 19 speakers surrounding the drivers cabin. I think the peak rrms is around 550 watts. (You should look that up) I'm pretty much a snob when it comes to sound systems. I've listened to the Bose system, and in fact I use some Bose products at home. However, the car Bose system does not provide the clarity and range that the Mark Levinson system does. One area where I think the Levinson system is a little weak is the low bass end. The Mark Levinson system comes packaged with the Lexus navigation unit. Back to the ride and road noise for a last remark. Tires make a tremendous difference in the ride and outside noise on any car. As an example, last December when I took deliverly of my 2013, i saw that it had come from the factory with Bridgestone tires. Over the last few years there have been many disscuscions about what tires were best on which cars. I have foud that Michlen Primacy MX4 are by far the best choice for a ES350. They give a smooth ride and oh so quite. So, I had the dealer take off the Bridgestones and put on the Michlens at no charge to me. I have not driven th ATS, and it sounds like a nice ride. But I think if you do some research you may find that the Cadillac product will not hold its value as well as a Lexus. Paul
  14. Hi Gareth and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Congratulations on your new ride. Sounds and looks like a great find. The LS series is all about luxury and comfort. It should give you many years of good driving. Paul
  15. It's their oil Lenore. We don't have to buy it. Remember there are a LOT of other countries that buy oil from them. :) David; I wonder if they get a quantity discount from Bugattii?
  16. Thanks for the additional information GreatDane. Others have had good luck with United Radio. They came highly recommende to me by a friend of mine who does car audio repair work. Paul
  17. Welcome Anjumkha to the Lexus Owners Club. I ran a search of our data base and found these threads. They should give you an overview of the basics and you can come back here anytime with other questions. When posting your questions, try to be as specific as possible A question such as "What steps do I need to take?, is pretty broad. As you read through the search result threads you'll get the jest of it. You can do more searches yourself; just go to the top of the page, look to the right corner and you will see the white search bar. Come back here and let us know how things are going. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/41879-side-view-mirror-removal/
  18. Hi Tom, Just throwing things against the wall now.... I know your GS is a 2013. Did you buy it completly new; i.e. no miles or previous title/owner. Or. was it a Certified Pre-Owned GS,with only very low miles. The reason I ask is if it had been a slightly Pre-Owned car, it could be possible the windshield would have had to be replaced due to a crack or something else. The replacement glass used could have been a cheapo. As I said, this comes from the far out back of my itty-bitty mind. Regardless of the cercumstances or cause, Lexus must replace the windshield at no charge. Period. Please come back and let us know how things work out. Paul
  19. You are here: Auto News > Of course, Dubai Police add Bugatti Veyron to fleet Report Of course, Dubai Police add Bugatti Veyron to fleet By Jeremy KorzeniewskiRSS feedGoogle+ Posted May 18th 2013 1:05PM 1067197212 Comments96 Well, now it's official: Nobody in Dubai is going to be able to outrun the police. You see, in addition to the Aston Martin One-77, Ferrari FF and Lamborghini Aventador that were already part of its stable of police cars, the constabulary in Dubai have most recently procured a Bugatti Veyron to add to the force. And, since the Veyron is the fastest production vehicle in the world, it'd take something truly special to evade the long arm of the law. Who will be the first to trip the radar?.........ya know ya wanna. ..
  20. I doubt this is the problem because you would have thought of this already. A change in my eyeglass prescription late last year caused a halo effect when cars approached. I had an anti-glare application appliied and the improvement was substantial. Other things such as cataracts or retinal problems can cause a variety of issues. I only bring this up because if I understand you correctly, this problem was not there in the begining but came about quickly.
  21. Strategerizer, I feel your pain and I totaly aggree that it is a worthless feature. I have had "ventilated" seats on my 2005 ES330, my 2010 ES350, and now my 2013 ES350. Not once in any of the three have I ever felt a wisp of air coming from the front seats. I too have taken the cars in hoping that a feature I actually paid for could be put in action, or get a refund for a feature that the dealer admits dosen't work worth a da... The reason I am so pived about this goes to the fact that our 2007 Volvo S80 3.2 has heated/ventilated front seats. When it is hot in the cars cabin, just turn on the cool seat control, and within 5 minutes or so you will feel your lower back and bottom getting blissfully cool. The seats can get you so cool that you actualy have to turn down the control. Whereas on the lexus, you can stand on your head and spit nikels but you won't get Lexus to pay any attention to a wide spread problem with unhappy owners. Paul
  22. Another source for Lexus parts is Sewell Lexus in Dallas, TX. Sewell is a LOC approved source for Lexus parts and as such offers our members a significant discount. Just go to sewellparts.com. When you login be sure to identify yourself as a Lexus Owners Club member. Paul
  23. Consider also thanking your Senator or Representative in Congress for being such a good example for our children on what it means to truly love one another. Like when they vote to give themselves the best healthcare plan in the country, free to them! And, they get to keep it even if they loose an election and are no longer in congress. This Cadilliac health care coverage is theirs for life. Is yours? This is all the while these same "forked tounge" sweet hearts !Removed! and moan about not being able to afford to provide even very basic coverage for all americans. There is a really big elephant in the room. Paul
  24. David, your always so eloquent!
