Sorry everybody The clip is not available any more, It is just to inform you thet I have had a very bad accident with my LS400 and I think it will be cancelled. Sorry again, ;)
molocka12 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 You were doing 150 MPH & taking photos now that what I call multi tasking. Seriously not the smartest thing to be doing. I am glad you are safe .
DanW Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 This is me doing exactly 150mph. unfortunately I took it with my mobile phone. sorry for the bad quality, This is the Clip, I hope it works with you,,,,,,,,, :( My Webpage ;) That's pretty awesome....I wish that had sound. I'm not crazy enough myself.
93LSOwner Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 I saw the video as well. It was safe in that you were on a open road but as mentioned before you were also making a video while doing 150 mph on a Gen I LS400!!!!!......now that was a bit dangerous.
Threadcutter Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 This is me doing exactly 150mph. unfortunately I took it with my mobile phone. Huh? I must be missing something......... On second thought, I'm perfectly happy taking your word for it. Please DON'T go get another picture with it showing One Five Oh. It's been a good thirty years since I have gone that fast (Only 120). I don't miss it at all. Be careful........
93LSOwner Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 The 150 mph is clearly shown in the video. :)
93LSOwner Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Ah so! Same reason as to why there are 9 pages of the below thread. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=21323
SW03ES Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 All I can say is I hope you hit a tree and kill yourself before you hurt anyone else.
93LSOwner Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 The road looks deserted because the side views are of a desert!.......almost btw, where is this at?
Gryphon Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Wrong site to post this, 93LSOwner....too may stuffed shirts here.
OmarG Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 wow. I wish i had the balls to do that. Not in GA though.
93LSOwner Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Whether the road is deserted or not, it is still illegal. If it was on the Autobahn or on a race track, people (including me) would appreciate this post.
CanadaCraig Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Hi LS400 lover!! :) That was interesting!! And now I know for SURE that something IS wrong with MY 1993 LS400. It can't go any faster [so I've been told] than 117 MPH. That said... I think LIFE allows each of us to be super silly at least ONCE. So now that you've done that - don't do it again!! lol Craig!! :)
RFeldes Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I assume he is in the Desert in Oman, Jordan......................
LS400 lover Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 Hi everybody, I drove this car on an empty road I dont think I will do it again But this is what LS400 is all about Luxury+Power ==> JOY
dcfish Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Hi everybody, I drove this car on an empty road I dont think I will do it again But this is what LS400 is all about Luxury+Power ==> JOY My .02 cents, There are no other people on the road, If the car can do it, And the road is in good condition, And the driver is willing to take the risk involved.... GO FOR IT B)
falciott Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Doing 150 is thrilling, I might have accidentally done that a few times while I used to live in Italy :whistles: , but I would always have my buddies drive 5 minutes ahead of me, and have them scan the road first, at that speed the road seems to get narrower and narrower, so mistakes are not exactly allowed. I agree with DCfish, but take precautions before you attempt that tho.
SW03ES Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Plenty of tracks out there you can book some laps on, people who drive speeds like that on public roads, deserted or not need to be stripped of their driver's licenses. The fact of the matter is you just have no idea what obstacles might be introduced, its impossible to control the situation. Totally irresponsible. I'm as much for having fun as the next guy, and I've driven that fast too...on a track. If caring about how my actions might effect others around me means I'm a "stuffed shirt", so be it. I'm not going to risk ruining my life by killing somebody while I'm doing something stupid.
HankJ Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I know that I am new on this site, but how does a spedo reading of 125 yield 150? Was it the phone? I am totally confussed!
bartkat Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I know that I am new on this site, but how does a spedo reading of 125 yield 150? Was it the phone? I am totally confussed! The still frame shows 125, but in the video it goes up to 150.
SW03ES Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I think what really goes beyond the doing 150 on public roads is the doing 150 on public roads while taking pictures and video with one hand. Idiotic.
bartkat Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Could be worse. Picture a cell phone, a Big Mac and a Cigar.
sweetls Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Did you need to remove or otherwise cripple anything on the car to go that fast, or is it completely stock? I thought there might be a limiter somewhere. Just curious.
