Reading the thread about Fast and Furious 4 got me thinking about my favorite car chase, racing movies.

What are your top five favorite movies involving cars, race cars, chases...etc.

Ok here are mine, mainly in this order.

LeMans (Steve McQueen) 1971

Grand Prix (James Garner) 1966

Bullit (Steve McQueen) 1968

Ronin (Robert De Niro) 1998

Vanashing Point (Barry Newman) 1971

Excellent choices! I would have to add Gone in 60 seconds (the recent version, even though much of it was CGR) so perhaps we need a top 10? :)

For me Smokey & the Bandit, and the French Connection come to mind too.

I'll never forget that nude girl riding her horse in Vaniushing Point! <_< . Another that comes to mind is The

Transporter.

Anyone remember watching Redline last year? Pointless movie, but they did have most of the expensive cars in it including a : Ferrari Enzo, Maclaren SLR, Lambourghini Murceilago and Countach, Ford GT, and Porsche Carrera GT. I think I might have missed a couple. hehe.

1) Mad Max, Road Warrior (The entire series really!)

2) the Car - Remember that posessed black Lincoln? :)

3) World's Fastest Indian (Not a car movie, but what a great true story!)

4) The Last Chase ( Lee Majors and Burgess Meredith!)

5) The Gumball Rally

Loved them all...also the car scene from Bad Boys 2 with the Ferrari... B) ...anytime you are trying to swerve to miss a boat flying at you on a interstate gets my attention... :D

Although I didn't care for the movie itself, the Dukes of Hazzard had a few great scenes, especially when they jumped onto the freeway. That's one hell of a stunt! It's amazing the car's alignment wasn't even affected, and how it would magically repair itself in a blink of the eye. Lexus better catch up, they're a little behind in quality.

But, for me, two of the best car scenes are from DeNiro's "Ronan", and the Jason Borne movies in general.
